I would like to formally offer my services yet again to the fleet. For those of you unaware, I operate a small salon of sorts out of the Three Twins. If you have a need for your hair cut or anything else, please, for everyone's sake, let me do it.

Today is decidedly different. It's come to my attention that perhaps not all of you know how to read, and I'd like to offer my services as a private reading tutor. I can be a dreadfully patient man, and if that is something you'd like to be taught, I am more than happy to oblige.

It entirely depends, but largely instructing on how letters and letter combinations correspond to sounds. As for the material itself...I am arranging for something that should hold interest in my older students.

Makes sense. Just wonderin' if letters look the same for everyone. Y'know, since we're all from different, er, worlds. I guess.

For the most part, it seems like we share a same common alphabet. Or, at least, I can understand it as well as the other languages I know.

That's really somethin', considerin'. I mean, ain't talked much to the folks here, but everyone seems real damn different, yeah? Think we'd all write different. Though hell if I know, letters ain't my strong suit.

Regardless of the alphabet in my home world, I am teaching from the current Common Alphabet that it seems most things are written in. It's entirely possible this was learned when I arrived here.

I have no intent to hold such knowledge hostage for money. My lessons will be free of charge.

I assume "sugar" is slang for "money" in this sentence? In which case, I certainly could, but that defeats the purpose of my altruism.

Altruism, huh. [ Ladon just isn't used to people offering services out of the kindness of their hearts. It boggled him on Sacrosanct, too, even as he did his charity through free alcohol at his bar.

He debates for a moment... But hell, what good would learning to read do him now? Let the guy focus on less lost causes. There are younger, brighter people around who could really use the help. ] Good luck then, yeah?
