[Even in the midst of this, we still have new crew shuffled in.  Nice to see the Atroma are all business as usual, right?  Welcoming Kaname to a pretty miserable ship, all things considered. :|]

I don't think I've thought about where other people are from yet. This isn't that foreign to me...

[She makes eye contact with him.] If you don't mind telling me, is this much different from the others?

Well... I've only been to one other place, so you'll have to ask other people if you want to know about where they might have come from.

[He makes another note before putting the paper he's working on in a drawer, then leans on his elbows to continue talking.]

...but I'd say the biggest difference is that there, we were stuck in one place. At least here we're able to travel around. To wherever the Fleet chooses to take us, but still.

Well, what about there and here compared to your home?

[Kaname leans against a wall, looking at him curiously.]

Space travel's a given where I'm from, even fleets of ships.

[He chuckles softly.]

Oh no, we don't have anything like this back where I'm originally from. Getting out into space... most of the people I met during my work didn't even think about that possibility. If it ever happens--which at this point I guess I'm assuming it does--it's years away from happening. Maybe centuries.

And as for Edensphere... well, not having my memories was a big difference, I'd say.

Oh, wow. [To her, the thought of living without the idea of space travel is almost impossible to wrap her head around, and she's good with most things.] I can barely imagine that.

[Which causes her to smile ruefully.] Which I guess is how some people here must feel at first.

[She listens when he mentions not having memories, growing more curious.]

It sounds like it. I should stop asking questions now, I don't want to be too nosy.

It's fine; I don't really mind.

[It's nice to have something to take his mind off the terrible thing that just happened, honestly.]

But what about you? I told you a lot about where I'm from, so it's fair you tell me something about your home.

That's a relief. [Kaname chuckles a little.]

I wouldn't say it's a lot exactly, but I'm happy to share. Is there anything specifically you'd like to know, or should I just choose something?

Oh, just whatever you'd like to share would be interesting to hear about. I guess you could tell me about something you enjoy doing, if you wanted to.

All right. Like I said, space travel's routine for me. I'm a member of a singing group called Walküre, and we travel too all sorts of different planets to perform. That's something I do enjoy a lot.

[She smiles.] You mean like that?
