[The vast majority of people here know Lance as constantly loud, boisterous, all smiles even in the face of bad news. Constantly flitting from person to person, acting as a sort of giant team cheerleader. But this Lance? He looks small and tired. If you squint, you can see a little tremble passing through his body. He can't even muster up one of his trademark smiles right now.]

So that's it, huh? That's...it. That's all we could do.

[Action - Blameless]

[Lance knows he can't just lay here in his room and mope. People need him, he could still help. It's his role to comfort people and to keep their spirits up. He should be doing that, and helping with first aid anyone who got injured. He should, but he can't move from his bed right now. All the fear of this situation is finally settling in--no, it's more like a truck hitting him at full speed.

He's spent all this time helping everyone he can, distracting them, in a way distracting himself, and it's only now after it's all over that he realizes how terrified he's been all along. And especially now, with the dead remains of a planet floating right outside his window... And Looma...

You're useless without your lion and Voltron. Part of him knows that it isn't true; he'd helped some others through the month and he evacuated as many people as he can, but his fear is leaving him hyperfocused on those he couldn't save.]

[Keith sighed a little.]

But, yeah... it did help a lot. Except for the weird position...

You know, I could just lock the door.

[Long pause.]

And we could just lay down.

[It seemed so logical, and yet... so much more than that... and Keith stared at Lance for a second, almost like he froze up.]

Uh... I guess?

Don't ever tell me I don't come up with great ideas!

[He gives him a grin, getting up and walking the few feet to his door to securely lock it. The last thing he needs is Shiro to take another picture and make Keith feel uncomfortable.]

Boots off, though. I'm not having those dirty things in my bed.

[Lance kicks off his own sneakers while he's at it.]

Well, some of your ideas do need work.

[Using Voltron to play soccer probably wasn't going to be happening soon, Lance... no more off-balance power kicks from Blue.

He quirked an eyebrow.]

I wouldn't have left them on.

[He took his off as well.]

[Excuse him. He's gotten a lot better at piloting and maneuvering Blue since then. He can totally do on-balance power kicks now, and you're going to be impressed one day when he does.]

I dunno, man, you seem the type to just pass out on your bed in full clothing, boots and everything.

[He gives him a friendly shove as he walks back to the bed, climbing back onto it.]

[Keith narrowed his eyes a little.]

Not as much anymore...

[Haha... Ha...]

I knew it! Iiiiiiii knew it.

[He laughs, pushing him down as he lays down.]

[Good thing he had put his tea down to take off his boots.

Keith yelped a little as Lance pushed him down, then shoved him back a little to make enough room for the two of them.]

We'll domesticate you yet, you wildcat.

[Lance grins as he settles himself down on the bed, not exactly pressed against him or anything but not very far, either. He's still rather surprised Keith took him up on this offer, but takes it as a good sign.]

Hmph.

[Keith just rolled his eyes a little before he yawned, stretching a bit before rolling on to his side to get comfortable.]

We'll see... just go to sleep.

Yeah, yeah... G'night, Keith.

[He yawns as he shifts a little, getting comfortable himself. It feels strange to be sharing a bed with Keith for the second time in a month, and this time, it isn't just because they fell asleep in the middle of conversation. But it's a good kind of strange.

Lance tries not to dwell on it too much lest his dreams continue his line of thinking. With another warm body next to him, though, the comfort helps him drift off pretty quickly.

By the morning, he's shifted around just a little in his sleep. Just enough to cuddle up to the warmth, pressed up against Keith's back, an arm slung around him. Something he definitely wouldn't have had the nerve to do while awake.]

[Keith didn't really notice Lance at first, but he still woke with a very slight start. Despite the presence of someone else, his lingering dreams hadn't exactly been sunshine and rainbows. Not that they ever really were, honestly, but he tried not to think about it too much. Still, his outward reaction had been pretty much nil, so it was likely Lance slept through it. Keith was glad he hadn't...

Wait...

It finally sunk in that the warm body next to him wasn't just next to him anymore, but rather pressed up against his back. He slowly lifted his arm and peered down towards his waist. Yup... that was an arm. Lance's arm.

Keith's first thought was to wake him up and make him move. Seriously. This was just a thing, there was nothing to it. Why was Lance suddenly cuddling him like that? But, the whole reason Keith was there in the first place came back to him. Lance had been pretty upset and shaken by what happened. Not that Keith hadn't been, but Lance had just been more open about it. And the whole point of him coming over like this had been to get Lance to calm down.

Apparently, it had worked... even if it meant having the Blue Paladin pressed up against his back, fast asleep.

Keith sighed. Suddenly, the idea of waking Lance up and making him roll over seemed almost mean. Maybe... maybe he could just... shift a little... and Lance wouldn't notice... and he could just... move... slightly...]

[His own dreams hadn't been entirely kind either, though upon waking he could reflect that they weren't as bad as they could have been. Even if Keith was one of the world's worst people to say the right things that could comfort him, it'd still helped. His mere presence had helped, at that.

Lance stirs in the morning, though it always takes him a while to get his brain in gear. The only things he can think of is warm and comfy, and his arms instinctively tighten just a little around Keith.

This body sized pillow that somehow ended up in his bed is awfully warm, he thinks.]

Mmmghh....

[And probably no where near as squishy as a normal pillow. Keith was pretty wiry. In fact, said pillow tensed slightly when Lance tightened his hold.

So much for that idea...]

Uhh... Lance...?

[He was trying to be quiet. Keith knew that, if he startled Lance awake, there would likely be shrieking, and that would likely draw the attention of the rest of the ship's crew. The last thing he needed was Shiro finding out about this.

He'd tease them about it forever.]

[Something was weird. Pillows aren't supposed to tense when you hug them. They're supposed to be soft and cuddly and...this pillow's not very squishy at all.

He hears his name, and his eyes fly wide open.

Oh, quiznak. Lance isn't sure when in his sleep he moved, but he sure is latching onto a certain red paladin right now. He swallows hard, tensing a little himself, but... No. He can't freak out. That'd just make this more awkward. Just treat it like a normal situation, right? Just two bros. Casually spooning. No need to freak out, or freak Keith out.]

...g'morning?

[Okay... good... no shrieking... just... stay chill. It was all good.]

Yeah. Morning...

[In fact, if Keith's idea of time was right, then Shiro was probably getting ready for his morning workout. It felt kind of 'early', but he couldn't see the clock from where he was.]

You uh... seem to have slept pretty okay?

[AWKWARD.]

Yeah, um... I did. So...did you? I hope?

[Totally chill. The coolest cucumber. Lance can totally manage this.]

Um.

Yeah.

It was fine.

[Totally fine. Completely fine. This was fine. Everything was fine.]

[Everything is awesome. Normal. His arm twitches, but he's almost afraid to move it.]

Good. Great. Sweet. Mission accomplished. I mean, like...both of us...having a good sleep. And stuff. Nice rest.

Yeah. Yeah, that's... that's good.

[He felt Lance's arm twitch a little, but he wasn't really sure if he should move, either. Keith just sort of... stayed there...

WHAT DO.]

Yeah. Uh... right. So...

Morning.

Morning. I already said that. But I'll say it again. G'morning. Wait, that's three times... Your morning is triple good now.

[He's going to throw himself out an airlock.]

[Stay away from the airlocks, Lance. Those were bad luck for you.

Keith blinked, still not moving because Lance wasn't moving, and he was kind of trapped on the bed as a result. He was getting kind of jumpy at how awkward all this was, but he didn't want to be stupid. Just... chill. It was okay. There was nothing going on. They'd just been comforting each other and fell asleep.]

Heh... right. Triple good. Yours, too, I guess?

Yeah. It's definitely good. Great. Super great morning.

[God help them both.

Finally, finally Lance moves his arm, untrapping Keith. He's still not going to say a word about it though.]

Right.

[OH THANK GOD... he moved. Keith had to resist the urge to bolt upright, trying to shake the trapped animal feeling he had as he sat up and pretended everything was just fine. He hadn't felt weird about being against the wall last night, but having Lance's arm over him and being against the wall had made him definitely uneasy. If this ever happened again, he was going to make sure he was on the outside.

He could also finally see the time.

He needed to kill a few more minutes before he was sure that Shiro would be on the Iskaulit. He had a feeling he could get out of talking to anyone else on the Blameless about this, but Shiro was definitely going to be an issue if he found the two of them waking up together.]

You mind if I just stay here for a bit until I'm sure Shiro's off for the morning? He'll be all over this if he figures out I stayed the whole night.

[Trust him, Lance. Shiro was a really annoying big brother sometimes.]
