[Video] [Both Public and Locked]
[Public]
[Tyrion is sitting in the Captain's chair of First Breath, something that should strike you all as strange. He also looks absolutely drained - to the point of making him look almost twice his age. He rubs his hands across his face, as if steeling himself, before he finally speaks.]
For those of you who ... who knew Captain Furiosa, and her friend Max, they ... they both perished back on the planet. According to the people I have spoken to, they died in the successful attempt to get the last ship up and running again. Gil and I - Gil and I ... did not realize they had not made it off-planet and ... and well.
Here we are.
[He looks at his hands for a moment, squeezing them into fists, before he looks at the camera again.]
One of my shipmates has made an excellent suggestion - talking about the threats that might face us from our own worlds - considering how familiar our travels seem to be. I suggest meeting up to find a way to continue our survival, and not make others lives ...loss of lives in vain.
[Private to First Breath]
For those of you who know me, I'm the Captain now. For those of you who don't know me - I am Tyrion Lannister, Engineer, and now your Captain. Feel free to come and ... harass me with questions. I'll be sitting here resisting the urge to drink myself into a stupor.

Oh. Um. Haha. I was ... I was joking about the talents thing. Though I'm pretty good with a gun. [He worked really hard on improving. Really hard.] And machines. Well, tech. Just kind of naturally drawn to anything with metal and wires, really. [He tries really hard not to think about why that is.]

I am the ship's engineer ... do you have any designs or do you just putter?
no subject
no subject
You have ... a crossbow and a gravity well.
[HUH.]
Well, I am an inventor, and I would be very much interested in inspecting both of these weapons, if you did not mind.
no subject
[Magical armigers were awesome for large weaponry storage.]
No kidding? Well, sure. I don't mind.

[You could have just punched him instead. It would've felt the same.
Regardless, he appears a few minutes later, carrying nothing.]
Hey there.
no subject
[Tyrion has all his tools out and ready here, Prompto. Don't tell him you forgot in a whole five minutes.]
no subject
I got 'em!
[He braces just seconds before a large crossbow drops heavily into his hands.]
Pretty, huh? We'll have to save any demos for when we reach the next planet.
no subject
[He tipped his head, before he holds out his hands.]
Where did that come from if you do not mind me asking?
no subject
We found it in Keycatrich Trench, way back in... um. That's... that's not what you meant. [He clears his throat with a shrug.] Magic. Not mine. Um. I'm not magic. But Noctis is, and I'm connected to him as a member of his guard. The weapons are stored in his armiger, and that's how I... [He hefts the crossbow some.]
no subject
...how does he create this magical pouch, and can he make another for others? [How useful with THAT be? Honestly.]
no subject
Ah. Well, the magic is exclusive to the royal line. It'd be up to Noct who gets to share it. It's not something you give out willy-nilly.
no subject
[Oh the questions he will ask Noctis ...]
no subject
Is there magic where you're from?
[He readjusts the grip on the crossbow.]
Are we done with this one? Wanna see another?
no subject
[A sigh.] Hidden pockets in the air would be much more my particular interest.
[He nodded.]
Yes. Please. Another.
no subject
They're not as damaging, that's for sure.
[He releases the crossbow in a burst of crystals. He alters his stance to take the weight of the bulky gravity well that appears next.]
This one's a bit banged up. Sludge in the gears.
no subject
Well those can be cleaned, easily enough.
no subject
[Which isn't good. He's usually more diligent about keeping up with his weapons. He hadn’t pulled the gravity well out since Cartanica. Most of the gunk in it had been collected from the sludge swirling through the mines. He should have maintenanced it as soon as they were clear but … right. Everything went from shit to worse shit. It had dropped off his list of priorities.]
This one’s cool though, if a whole bunch of baddies come at you at once.
no subject
He ... was absolutely diligent about having a working weapon around him at all time.]
There you go. Have at it while you tell me what it does.
no subject
[He chuckles, tentatively reaching for the tools - it's really okay to use those? - and then muttering his thanks as he selects the first to start with. Any hesitancy diminishes as he dives into the weapon. He knows his babies.]
It's a gravity well. The trigger's here. [He points to one of the levers sticking out the top.] It'll launch a gravity sphere several yards out. Anything caught in range 'll be sucked in and caught, so you gotta make sure you and your peeps are out of range.

[Tyrion's tone is ever so wry.]
When you have been here as long as I have, you learn the value of being very well armed.
[He hummed, taking a few notes here and there.] Would your friend be able to tell me how to build one of my own?
