First Breath Mingle!
Who: The First Breath and Visitors!
Broadcast: None!
Action: On the First Breath!
When: Shuffle Day, in the evening!
[Two of the shuttles have been away, on the planet, and it's late on the day of the latest Shuffle when they dock back up, a solid half the crew re-embarking after a planetary visit to find their little aloof and uncomfortable family has expanded yet again. Tim comes to the bridge right away to double-check all ship's systems, just on general principles, but he invites anyone he sees along the way to come with him.]
Hey. Welcome aboard.

Hey. Welcome aboard.

Hello, hello there!

Uh... hi! Welcome aboard!
no subject
Well, thank you for the welcome. It's nice to meet ya. Kibachiyo of the Seiryuu at your service.

Well hopefully neither of us are needed then. I'm up for a good spar now and again but this security thing seems more serious then that.
no subject
Well, everything's been quiet since I got here, at least. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Well nice to meet ya oh captain. Kibachiyo of the Seiryuu at your service!
no subject
Good to meet you, Kibachiyo. What's your augment?
no subject
Someone tried to find the closes thing my kind does when they gave me security. Hopefully it won't really be needed though.

When he's waiting on something to cook, he sits at the table and works on an elaborate set of blueprints, or draws metalworks he might make.
He can also be found straightening up around the ship. Folding things, making beds, cleaning up, in between actually working on his job in the engine room. ]

She pokes her head in, and smiles a little when she sees it's someone she recognizes. Even if it is Mr. 'My Planet Is On Fire and That's Totally Normal'. He's weird, but he seemed nice enough. Spotting the blueprints, she tilts her head and walks over. ]
What's this for?
no subject
[ A smile; it's courteous, if a hint withdrawn. Malak is private, and cautious, and maybe a tiny bit tense. ]
It's - I thought I could build a forge using the heat from the ship's engines, instead of letting it all disperse into vacuum. It could be much more flexible than one planetside, and could be used to craft a number of metalworks, including replacement parts - [ he's probably too enthusiastic about this, she may not be interested ] - would you like something to eat?
no subject
Huh. Well it definitely wouldn't hurt... Who knows if we can trust the fleet to fix itself if something breaks, right?
So are you an engineer or something where you come from, or is it your augment? ...or both, I guess.

Hungry?
[ Malak doesn't make any attempt to hide it. He plans on starting to build it soon. ]

[ Single-burner stove!! How exciting!! ]

At least he's started to remember to tuck his tail in so people don't trip over it when he's sitting down now.]
Well it's nice to meet ya new shipmate? That's the word for it right?
closed to the Bat-trio
[At Steph's instigation, one of the things purchased down on the planet had been a mess of bedding - pillows, blankets, furs - enough for a nest, or a fort, and definitely for a sleepover, which was, he assumed, one of the reasons they'd dragged Cass back with them.
The question was where there was room to 'camp out' aboard ship - ironically, the bedroom was one of the least suitable places, already crammed with bunks. They couldn't possibly set up there without disturbing the rest of the crew all through the night, especially on a Batfamily sleeping schedule. So he was forced to turn to his co-conspirator and his guest - where did they want to do this?
Why was a question he wasn't going to ask. If it made Steph feel happy, and Cass feel welcome, then it was fine.]
no subject
Though I guess we might not need that much space. Either of you kick in your sleep?
no subject
[She'd rather not share this moment with anyone else, that's all. And she's already carrying her fair share of blankets, but that doesn't stop her from trying to lighten Steph's a little bit.]
Here, Stephanie. Can carry more, so you can see.
no subject
... And I don't know if I kick in my sleep. I know you are a blanket hog.
[Because the number of times they met at her bedroom window, plus a few movie night, including the one where they - where she kind of - where nothing happened - has given him a little insight.]
no subject
I am not. ...much.
Anyway, it doesn't matter if we're all squeezed in close, does it?
no subject
Entire point of cozy... is to be close. So it matters, because... that's the plan.
no subject
[He says it insincerely, glowers briefly, and follows. All right. Cozy is fine. A little... It isn't usually his thing. But fine. Chances are at some point tonight one of them will laugh at his reactions, but he doesn't mind that. And he does want to spend the time with them. He's distracted, until they have everything laid in place and set up.]
no subject
[ ...which would probably just be a more solid whack with the pillow, honestly. This is not the time or the space for anything more earnest, and she's certainly not in the mood for it, but seriously, Tim. You're overreacting.
Steph drops her blankets in the center of the designated cuddlepile area, arranges them into a nest, and sits down cross-legged in the middle of it. She's left room for Cass to snuggle up close to her if she wants. Tim too, on the other side, though she knows he won't. ]
no subject
No hitting. Save that for morning. Waking up and training... is good bonding exercise.
no subject
[Tim flops down on his side a cautious, calculated six inches away, close, but far enough away to look over and study them, enough to be sure any touch is deliberate, but easy enough to be casual.]
no subject
Fine, no hitting tonight. I make no promises about stealing all your blankets in your sleep.
no subject
You'll give them, if she's cold.
[Better do it, Drake.]

That's what we're here for, Captain. [ Helping and teasing are like the same thing, right? ]
no subject
And it only gets better when making fun of Tim becomes a thing.]
Can't even... give up control in space, huh?
no subject
[he flails a little, then flops over on his back, still looking their way.]
Anyway, me being in charge means you don't have to ask permission before crashing here.
no subject
I didn't say I wasn't enjoying the perks of you being captain. I doubt anyone else would let me bring friends home like stray cats. [ And keep them FOREVER. Or until Cass wants to go back to her own ship, anyway. ]
no subject
Stray bat.
no subject
Bird brain.
no subject
Bats aren't as cuddly. As a rule.
