(She strips off her pieces of armor, letting them fall at her feet to be retrieved later. She then loosens her belt and sets it and her gun aside. Without all of her defenses, Claire is a surprisingly petite woman with blue eyes that reflect the sky of the new world she had seen so briefly. She carries the hope - the relief and the contentment - with her.)

Congratulations to all of those who helped on the planet. The situation could have been far worse. The loss of a world isn't the end if the inhabitants can be saved. You managed to do that and I am proud of you...for your selflessness...and for your bravery.

(A brief smile follows, chased away before it can take shape.)

If you felt a little lost, I can give you some coaching. But I'm not the only one. Our fleet has plenty of experience. The best advice I can give you is if you feel like you are in over your head, you probably are and you'd best find the nearest exit.

(Because things usually get more complicated rather than less.)

[He isn't quite as angry as he was when they talked on the planet, but of course he's had time to really face the fact that Serah is there and that he can actually talk to her whenever the feeling hits.]

Might want to cut back on the "I'm the leader" talk. Lots of people like that from what I can see are already here.

That doesn't stop me from being a leader. (Or attempting to be anyway. She isn't sure what the Fleet wants or needs. But everyone has to start somewhere.) I thought you were finished talking to me?

(She makes an amused sound in her throat.) So we can work together. This isn't a race to some prize. Besides, I'm part of Security. I should make myself visible.

Yeah, but doesn't automatically make you the best person to "rally the troops" either.

[Besides, she should really try to find out who the leaders are among these people before she ruffles feathers. If only so she knows exactly whose feathers to ruffle.

There's something to be said for taking a quieter, calmer approach to things. He learned that one himself.]

And I never said I wouldn't talk to you ever. Kinda impossible under circumstances. [They're going to be family, after all. If Serah doesn't drop him, that is.]

And there's a difference between being visible and being bossy. I'm Security for the Blue Fish, but you don't see me making grand gestures over the network.

[Of course, this is the most he's talked since he arrived too, so go figure.]

(Speaking of ruffled feathers! How are his doing? She isn't very good at being quiet when the chips are down. Oh she is far less angry than she used to be, but she's a General; a Warrior. She is the sort that is always in the vanguard.)

Is that the only reason? (She sighs, shaking her head.) I don't see you doing much of anything except bellyaching. I suppose you did save some people on the planet.

(Grudging respect for that. Still, he has to pull his shit together. Or so she thinks.)

[He cracks a very broken smile. There's some bitterness still tinging every line of his face and his movement's, but the self-loathing isn't so bad, so all-encompassing.]

Saving people's a hero's job, right? Last I heard, I wasn't allowed to retire.
