[Seeing the destruction of the planet has been hard on everyone, but it definitely has a specially bad effect on this particular group. Losing a planet like this is what the pilots fight to avoid, what Shay almost got through. It's incredibly frustrating.

So add that to the fact they aren't all living in the same ship like it happens at home, and well. These little family is some serious need of bonding time. Just making a pile of astroexplorers and letting them bask in each other's comfort.

That's how they end up having a sleepover on the Iskaulit, the lecture hall to be more precise. They push away tables and chairs, scatter all the pillows and blankets they brought from their own ships, and get comfy for a night with friends.

There are snacks (courtesy of Hunk of course), some non-alcoholic drinks (while Shiro wouldn't mind them drinking a bit, he thinks them being kinda down is not a good moment for that) and probably some games that could go funny enough... or an absolute mess when their augments decide to glitch.

Watch out for the pillow fight. Shiro plays to win.]

[Lance is more than grateful when Shiro suggests that they have a sleepover. It's been a tough last two or so weeks, what with the whole planet destruction and people dying and plenty of things that plague Lance with insomnia and nightmares. To get the whole team back together again (plus Shay!) is something he knows will help all of them. He's missed them being on the same ship.

(It's good to have Shiro on the Blameless, but it still feels too quiet, and Lance hates quiet.)

The pillows and blankets serve as a nice cushiony floor to roll around and huddle up in, and that's just what he'll do. Sorry if he ends up knocking into you or accidentally tripping you while making himself a blanket burrito. He'll also flit from person to person, happily chatting them up.]

[Recently, Lance played a game, and he wants to pull the others into it. This time, unfortunately with no alcohol. But he still thinks they'll have a fun time, and learn more about each other. Take that, Allura, they don't need to pass out in the training room to have bonding moments!

There's a catch, however, that's discovered soon after they start the game. Any time a person lies, a tally mark appears on their face. Nothing like some good ol' fashioned glitches to make sure the truth is being told.

[Chuckling, he stops the rolling burrito with his foot, arching an eyebrow at Lance as he asks--]

Are you planning to take all the blankets?

[Ordinarily, this kind of activity is not anywhere in the realm of Things Pidge Does. But this isn't an ordinary moment in time, and the people she'll be with aren't just any ordinary people. They're her team. Her friends. Her little family. People she'd now do just about anything for. And that's one of the only reasons why Pidge is participating in this.

The other reason is that they've all been through some shit lately. Some of them more than others. And even though Pidge isn't exactly the best person to go to for some comfort and reassurance, she's going to try. It's easier with some of her friends than it is with others, but still. The effort is being made.

Even if it may not necessarily look like it, considering Pidge keeps bringing her snacks and drinks back to what she's clearly claimed as Her Spot and just sitting there for minutes at a time, with or without company. She's not hoarding the things she likes per se, but... she's kind of hoarding the things she likes.]

[She's only joining the game because, well. She played it back at that Space Bar, too. And it wasn't so bad.

Though playing it here has the added bonus of her getting to lay down on the floor with a pillow clutched to her chest, looking upside-down at her friends while she talks.]

[Shay plops down beside Pidge and her steadily growing mountain, noting that the Green Paladin was mostly on her own. Not that she looked upset about it, but Shay enjoys Pidge's company.]

It feels as though we have not seen each other for some time. Are you well?

[Shay isn't quite certain what Lance is doing, and has taken to just sort of...following him, curious to see what he's up to. While the textures of the pillows and blankets are rather pleasing, Lance appears to be cocooning himself up somehow and the Balmeran is puzzled.

She watches him move with her head tilted slightly to the side, yellow eyes blinking slowly.]

[This sort of sleepover is certainly not a tradition that Shay is familiar with, but she is enjoying herself all the same. After the disaster with Lyuku and the resulting wave of homesickness, it's nice to spend some time with friends and get to know Voltron's crew a bit better. While she does fit in with them better than other groups, she's still not very close to all of them and would like to get to know them better.

Her current spot at the moment is at the snack table, sampling the food and drink with interest. It's certainly no cave bug soup, but it is delicious, and sharing it with friends is even better.]

[The downside to essentially being a talking rock is that, well...Shay is solid. Her skin is craggy, her body dense, and unfortunately, the pillows aren't standing up well to that. She plops down to sit, and instead, several pillows explode under the pressure, sending feathers and fluff in every direction. Shay blushes, embarrassed.]

Oh no, I am so sorry! I did not realize...I will fix it!

[Of course there is a pillow fight, what else would he expect of his team? It seems every time they have some down time together they end having some kind of fighting game. This time, Shiro is quicker to join in that he did at home - there's no mission to think of after all.

Unlike food or squishy asteroids though, pillow fight is closed ranged. Which means... Shiro is kicking their asses.

And not caring in the least. Look at this cocky grin!]

[Truth or dare, Never Have I Ever, whatever, they try many things. But with the markings appearing on their faces? After a while they just give up on following any kind of games and rules, and just throw questions at each other. It's awkward at first, but soon they're all comfortably making a pile of cats (and rock) and sharing their life with family.

And now it's Shiro's turn to make a question... mmh.]

[He gives a little whine of protest when his journey about the room comes to an abrupt stop at Shiro's foot. Lance looks up, giving him as innocent a puppy dog eye look as he can muster.]

Can't I just have enough of them for this? You're missing out, you know!

[Laughing a bit more (he's really relaxed this evening), he crouches in front of Lance, that eyebrow of his still up.]

And what exactly am I missing out on?

[His expression turns into a grin. Honestly, it's amazing to see Shiro this chill.]

When you put it like that, you make me miss having a kotatsu. [He finally gets comfortable himself, sitting next to Lance with his legs crossed.] And how are you planning to eat and drink, Cocooned Paladin?

That... Uh. I'll get out when I'm ready to do that.

[Never mind he's got himself rolled up in his blanket tightly enough that he might have a little struggle when the time comes.]

[padadin]

I guess I'll have to move and play a game with someone else then.

[Just teasing! ...maybe.]

Noooo! Don't leave, we're supposed to be bonding!

[He rolls a little to bump against him.]

[padadin]

[Hey, that bumping is rude! So how does Shiro answer?

By poking Lance's side with metal fingers.]

[He'll just bump into him again.]

I'm happy everyone's having fun, at least. I mean, even Keith looks like he is.

[And Shiro answers by poking both of Lance's sides with his hands now. Don't start something you won't know how to finish, boy.]

You're right, and I agree. We all needed this. It's definitely not the same being a ship without the four of you yelling in my ear. [Kidding, kidding. or is he]

You love us yelling in your ear and you know it!

[He gives a little "eep" at being poked from both sides.]

[Now that's the reaction he's been wanting! Get ready for the poking attack, blue cocoon!]

I t-totally can! Definitely! You don't stand a chance against me!

[Lance starts cracking up as he's attacked with merciless poking. It's been a long time since he's been able to relax like this.]

[padadin]

Then prove it, cadet!

[Hearing that laughter is just a precious moment for Shiro, who keeps attacking like the merciless bastard he is.]

Surprisingly? Yeah. It's...kind of nice not to have to constantly fight like we did back home.

[By now, he's feeling even more relaxed, and a little more open. That he trusts Shiro so much helps in him talking more.]

Honestly, I missed just being a teenager.

[padadin]

It does feel like a break, doesn't it?

[Being entertainment doesn't exactly amuse him, but he can't deny what Lance just said. He's noticed, too.]

I'm glad something good is coming out of this. Being a teenager is what you should be doing at your age, not fighting a war. [He shakes his head - damn, this is not the topic he should be bringing up in this happy meeting.] Sorry. It's your turn now.
