whatever it is, he isn't quick to agree and let her help. there really isn't an obvious downside to her offer, but he still just stops and looks at her for a minute.]

So she lets him stare, giving it a few moments before adding one last gentle nudge.]
We're part of a team now, aren't we? I'd really like to help.
no subject
but he moves over, a little--allowing her room to step forward and help if she really wants.]
no subject
She moves in where he gave her space, finds a grip, lifting. She's not a bruiser by any means, but she's fit, plenty enough for this.]
Go back to go forward, yes?
[Not an order. When she says team, she means it.]
When you're ready.

but he eventually adjusts his grip and nods to signal that he's ready, and then gives the desk a good little tug to try and get it unwedged from the hatchway.]
no subject
In any case, she goes with the nod, and when he tugs, she does too, throwing her weight against the desk to get it to move from the wedged position. It shifts. A little. They're on the right track!]

he focuses in now, leaving his spot without warning, just kind of hoping she'll hold the thing still for a minute. and stepping around to where the corner of it is still stuck partway down the hatch, he takes up a new leverage point.
this time, he'll lift up while she pulls. and once he crouches down and gets a new grip on the desk, he nods at her. he can't exactly say 'one, two, three, go,' so that part is probably on her.]
no subject
Ready. Go.
[And she pulls, using her legs, like you're supposed to.]
no subject
success!
and Coil huffs a big, annoyed breath once it's all over.]

[Positivity. c:
She moves around the desk to the hatch and pushes it open again.]
I can hold this and help guide you through.
no subject
he just gives one clipped little nod before he takes up position at the desk again, and he's buckling down to start maneuvering it down the hatch without really double-checking whether she's ready or not.]
no subject
Turn it a little to the left. Your left.
no subject
so, as long as she doesn't drop it on the way down to the floor, they should be in good shape.]
no subject
There. We did it.
[c: Go team.]

and he has apparently been quite busy setting up his space--which has mostly consisted of him filling his room with as many piles of books, scribing equipment, and cabalistic paraphernalia as he could. by the looks of it, even his cot has been packed up and moved off somewhere to save space.
and once he dusts off his hands, he gives her a nod of thanks, and starts shoving his desk toward the only empty corner of the tiny room. expecting her to just head on her way, probably.]
no subject
Oh um, my name's Syeira. I'm new here, and I like to help. Keeps me busy. So if you've ever a need, let me know. I mean, I see you're kind of out of space here, so if you need to sleep, you can borrow my cot instead of the floor if you want. I don't get much sleep so, yeah.
[The eloquent Bard.]
It was nice meeting you, friend.
[She'll just...go back up now.]
