[This week the stalwart passengers on the SS Redfish loose one of their own! The dashing "tailor" is no where to be found, but in his place a mysterious bearded stranger has appeared? What could possibly happen??

[It's been a day and she hasn't seen Hange anywhere. After spending some time faffing about, trying to convince herself that she shouldn't be concerned... other crew members will be able to find her at her communication station. She's combing through the computer files, meticulously checking the ship rosters. And... nothing. She frowns and her fingers pause above the keyboard, her pinkie gently tapping the 'A' key before she lets her fingers rest on the board.

Is she really gone? It was baffling to think of and she didn't quite know what she should do. Would someone have to replace her as captain? The idea felt wrong even in her own mind, much less imagining saying it out loud. She'd have to tell Zhas and Coil, although it struck her that they might already know.

People are free to either run into her while she's in the com room, or while she's rolling her chair through the ship looking for people. Either way, if she spots your character first she will decisively roll in their direction, looking a bit more serious that usual.

Wanna get the first word in? If not, she'll lead off.]

[ Iroh is just walking through the ship himself, looking curiously at everything they've got going on in here.

Spaceships are weird. Weird, and so .... inorganic. But, this was where he was to be for an undetermined amount of time, so he supposes he had better get used to it.

Either way, when he spots Nunnally wheeling on by, he's happy to greet her with a respectful bow. ]

Ah, good afternoon. You must be one of the people living on this ship.

[ What better way to greet his crewmates than to make them a delicious meal, right?

He's just in the kitchen, working with what he can find to make something he can share with everyone. And, of course, there's a pot of tea brewing, too.

Come bother him! ]

[Syeira is both new to the fleet and new to the ship. She explores, and by that, she opens every door that isn't locked at some point, just getting her bearings. She'll end up in the Armory at some point (congratz Redfish, you have one now, thanks to her timely abduction) and spends some time frowning slightly at things that are not swords, or bows, or any kind of normal weapon.

She's also a chronic insomniac due to nightmares. Anyone who's trying to sleep the same time she is, might hear her thrashing, or talking in her sleep, or she might just wake you up at the end of a nightmare, by screaming a little.]

[Once she's 'shuffled' on board, Syeira goes poking around. Her nose actually leads her into the kitchen. She's not surprised to see someone in there, because cooking tools should not be left unattended. So she actually politely knocks on the door frame before setting foot inside though. Manners.]

Ah, hello?

[oh! She hears Iroh's footsteps before she quite recognizes that they aren't a cadence that she recognizes. Hange's quick and eager shuffle, Zhas's heavy boots, Coil's silent steps... These footsteps are slow, calm but decisive. She looks up and quickly attempts to look less serious. Slight strain may be visible around her eyes as she tries to make her smile look entirely carefree]

Yes. My name is Nunnally, I'm the communications officer aboard this ship.

[she folds her hands in her lap, unconsciously sitting up a little straighter in her chair and bowing her head in return] If you need help with anything, please feel free to ask me. I'll try to arrange it as best I can.

It is a pleasure to meet you, Nunnally.

[ He has to admire how hard she's trying to greet him properly ... ]

My name is Iroh. I appreciate the offer, this is all very new to me.

[ He turns from whatever he's cooking to see her, and gives her a friendly smile, though they have yet to meet. ]

Hello, there. Please, come on in.

[ He gestures to an empty chair by the table. Make yourself comfortable, Syeira! ]

[oh, he... suspects, at the very least. and it hasn't sat well with him at all.

he was on his way to the bridge himself, having finally worked up the guts to check... but he runs into Nunnally first, looking serious, and it all but confirms it for him. he slows, looking at her... and tilts his head to ask the obvious question. any sign of her?]

[the kitchen is usually his domain... he doesn't have the skill of someone with the right augment, but it's still something of a pasttime for him... and no one else knew how to cook. until now, apparently.

so he shows up in a full skull-face and a big coat and... hovers in the kitchen, looking confused and kind of irritable.]

[ Well ... that sure is a getup, there. Iroh looks a little confused at his choice of face paint, but it quickly turns into a warm smile ]

Hello there. I didn't mean to startle you.

[they've actually had an armory for some time, thanks to Zhas being the first resident security officer... which is why he's confused when a new, unfamiliar presence is coming from the tiny weapons room. he's on-guard, of course, but pauses in the doorway.

and for whatever reason he... stares at her. his eyes have this dim orange glow to them, in the low light of the hall. he's also painted his face to look like a human skull, which really doesn't do much to make him appear people-friendly. he's got a dark wool coat on. looks heavy.

so... uh. hello. this is Zhas, your crewmate.]

[she smiles sadly] It can be hard to become adjusted to everything here. We have a lot of free time, and sometimes it can seem a little aimless... But many of the people here are kind, and we have gotten to see some truly amazing planets.

[well, each one is different and some are cooler than others. But still, details]

[Nunnally rarely sleeps in her small bunk, it's hard to haul herself in and out of bed from her wheelchair and her chair is comfortable enough with a pillow and blanket. But she still likes to sleep near the other beds, just so she feels close to everyone else.

So when she hears screaming she wakes up blearily, and rubs at her eyes. She rolls her chair slowly through the dark and tries to figure out where the noise is coming from]

Hello? Are you okay? [she kind of calls out aimlessly, her sleepy brain trying to catch up with what is happening]

[She's a little surprised by him. Not by his appearance or anything, they grow them way way weirder on Toril. But definitely by his suddenly being in the doorway she was going to go out of.

He stares at her, she stares up at him, noting he's taller than she is, but not towering. She lets the silence go one for maybe 30 seconds. Long enough to be certain he's not planning on saying anything and also probably not moving. So, the ice breaking is on her.]

Hello. I'm Syeira. I just got [dumped] placed here.

[She does come in, clearly not very awkward about being a new person in a new space. She travels too much to let that happen. She sits where he points.]

Thank you. I'm Syeira. I was just [dropped] sent here.

[It wasn't a terribly loud scream. More abrupt, strangled and quickly cut off. She's done this enough that she wakes up fast enough to not be too disruptive to other people.

She can also see decently. Not great. Her infravision helps her to see better than most, if there's even a little light to go by, so she can see Nunnally searching for her.]

No, I'm- [She clears her scratchy throat.] I'm fine. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you.

[she specifically tries to use the official sign for Hello instead of just waving her hand aimlessly. And then she shakes her head... She assumes they're both on the same page right now]

I can't find her anywhere... And I checked all of the ship logs, she's nowhere to be found.

[he doesn't return the gesture, but he nods. if she's not on the ship logs and not hanging around the ship... Hange has either pulled a fantastic disappearing trick, or she's disappeared. just like Nunnally did before.

he wasn't saying anything before, but something about him changes and now he seems... quiet and withdrawn, just with the way he's holding himself. he sets his jaw while he thinks.]

A pleasure to meet you, Syeira. I am Iroh. I have not been here long, myself.

[ He's poking at something sizzling in a pan, now ... ]

Can I get you some tea?

I am always happy to learn something new. [ He chuckles ] I just mistakenly thought that my life was running out of surprises by now.

[hearing her talk seems to take the edge off of his guard, but not by much. he still watches her, looking over her clothes, her face. he can feel the effects of her enchantments working on him, and he doesn't much like it.

he finally walks closer, but it's... absolutely so that he can smell the air. near her face. which is not typically a thing that humans do.]

[...Zhas gives him a very flat look, glancing over everything going on here. where did that pantry door come from? since when do they have one of those? this guy must... actually be a cook. that's... uh. interesting.

he, of course, gives Iroh absolutely zero words to work with.]

[ Eh, it's cool, buddy. He just gestures to the teapot on the stove. ]

Would you like some tea?

[...he shakes his head.]

Who are you.

[his voice sounds kind of like a gravel driveway that's been smoking for a few years.]
