a hell of a show
Who: Rowan Cousland && Anyone planetside && Anyone on the Bishop
Broadcast: Nay
Action: Aboard the remains of the Bishop and the literal hell of the planet
When: Right meow
THE BISHOP (arrival)
[ A lot of things happen at once when Rowan opens his eyes. First, he's immediately accosted by the heavy feeling in his head, like a figurative weight has settled upon his skull with all the knowledge he was just entrusted with upon arrival. The second is the barrage of confetti, accompanying music, and the tray of treats that looks hilariously out of place in the clearly damaged and broken ship around him. And the third is his lingering realization that, last he checked, he was supposed to be dead. Was this where you went when you died? Where you truly went? To space? Because that's weird. Weirder than the usual Thedosian beliefs.
After the initial surprise, he moves to walk around the ship - or what parts of it remain intact, hoping for some kind of life to be found besides his own. He has so many questions. Like, for instance, why the hell can't he catch a break even in death? And also, is this thing supposed to be in a dozen pieces, or was that an aesthetic choice? Why is this planet red? Hello? ]
PLANETSIDE (balls deep in danger pt. 1: is that a knife in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?)
[ Let's say someone warned him about the potential dangers of wandering aimlessly through the dense forests of the planet. And let's say that that Rowan probably didn't listen to them. Sure, he doesn't have his daggers or his bow on him but you can fashion stabby-things out of nearly anything if you're smart enough. He ends up doing just that, eventually making a pair of shivs out of some stray pieces of metal and cloth. Not the fanciest thing, but it'll get the job done.
The Vieziri have the upper hand with their superior knowledge of the planet, but Rowan isn't a novice when it comes to stealth and recon. And honestly the only thing that keeps him from sufficiently getting a jump on the group he's been following is the loud crunch of someone's foot under a pile of leaves. It wasn't his foot either, but someone else's ( your characters?! ) who had the bad luck to approach at the wrong time. Rowan sighs, glancing back to see the source of the noise just as the Vieziri hunting party does the same. ]
Hope you came prepared to fight. [ because he sure did. ]
PLANETSIDE (balls deep in danger pt.2: electric bugaloo. )
[ Or let's pretend it was Rowan's fault that his cover was blown. Brambles and thick foliage make for a hell of a hard time being stealthy. Or maybe he's just really off his game. Either way, someone has had the luck of finding him now - an enraged Vieziri pinning him to the ground with a weapon poised to strike the killing blow. Around them are two other Vieziri, both of which seemed to have lost the fight with Rowan before this one took the advantage he had and set him into this unfortunate position. Blood colors the already vermillion-tinted ground, and weapons are scattered save for the one about to kill the Warden for the second time.
Wasn't once enough, universe? Wasn't once enough. ]
Uh, sorry to bother but would you mind helping me!? [ He shouts between grunts as he attempts to keep his attacker at bay. ] No rush!

Riona had only come this way when she heard the familiar commotion of a fight. Which, given the recent situation, likely meant that the Vieziri were attacking someone in the fleet. And naturally, she's not going to let that stand because fuck these cannibals and #fleetstrong.
Of course she was sprinting there until she has to slide to a halt upon the scene. By the time Rowan's politely requesting help, she's already running headfirst at the attacker. If he didn't have his weapon out, she'd just handle it with a well-tossed dagger, but knowing their luck, it'd make him drop his weapon into Rowan, and the whole thing would be for naught.
They collide, Riona and the Vieziri falling to the ground in a crash. There's a struggle, but it doesn't take long for her to get the upper hand. She takes her dagger and drives it into his throat. Now as dead as his comrades, he's left on the ground to bleed out as Riona stands up, brushing the dirt and blood off of her.]
You all right?

That works too. ]
Never been better. [ Minus the fact that one of his daggers got thrown somewhere during the fight. Sad. ] Thanks for the help. There aren't any more around that you know of, right?
no subject
Not that I saw running over here. Unfortunately, they're fond of ambushing people and coming out of nowhere. They know these forests better than us.
[Which makes it oh so fun.]
Quite a way to introduce myself. At least I made it in time. [She holds out her hand to shake.] Riona Cousland. I take it you're from the fleet? You don't look like one of the natives.

Normally Sayid is better than that about moving around quietly. He's a trained soldier - though stealth and wilderness training were not necessarily made a priority in his training - and usually good at what he does. Then again, everyone makes mistakes.
He'd been in the middle of a recon mission when he noticed Rowan alone....as well as a group of Vieziri. Sayid had meant to approach and provide potential back-up but....well. Now it's a fight, apparently.
Raising his gun to point at the hostile inhabitants, he smiles grimly while keeping his gaze on the Vieziri.]
In this environment? It would be a mistake not to be.
[He'll apologize for blowing Rowan's cover later.]
no subject
Good man. [ Is all he says before leaping from his now known hiding spot and charging for one of the approaching Vieziri, makeshift dagger in hand. Skilled as they are at hunting the natives, they probably don't entirely expect a lunatic like Rowan to come charging headfirst at them with a shard of metal. But who knows.]
planet 1
Something like the snap of a twig. Shit.
Moving forward, Leilani doesn't do anything until she hears the voice and spots the humans. Her eyes glow in the dark of the trees, reflecting the sparse light, and she knows her Anchor is still sparking and flashing despite the work Justice had put into it. ]
I am always ready for a fight.
[ She has her magic, but she draws the somewhat blunt machete from her side anyway, moving up to stand near the human. ]
I'll take the left.
no subject
The shivs he's made might not be perfect, but they sure as hell do a fine job digging through flesh as he gets into a two-on-one fight with the cannibals. The Vieziri are no joke - this is their territory, their home field, they know what to do and how to fend off his attacks. But Rowan's putting up a hell of a fight. ]
I'm going to assume we can't talk this out! [ And there's a loud clank as one of his shivs blocks an incoming spear. ] Didn't think so.
no subject
Still, she focusses on her magic, summoning a Veilstrike that slams into the chest of one hunter before she shifts and slams forward, Stonefist slamming them to the ground. The Fade and the Veil are different here, nothing like they were in Thedas, but it's enough that she can reach for the slight shift in power, to draw upon it to support herself and the man at her side, weakening their enemies and strengthening their attacks.
One tries to bite her. She slams the hilt of her machete into their eye. ]
Unfortunately, their eyes are bigger than their brains. They must think you look tasty.

Don't move!
[ Without hesitation Hawke springs forward, electricity crackling between her fingers a breath before she thrusts her hand forward. Purple bolts arc through the air and catch his attack on his side, the force throwing the Vieziri some distance away. Phew, she didn't hit her damsel, good! Would have been terribly unfortunate if that had.
But that isn't the end of it. Using one of the Vieziri's fallen companions to launch herself forward and down upon the writhing man, the bladed end of her staff piercing through his chest. He chokes out a scream as blood fills his lungs as he falls as still as his friends, Hawke letting out a breathy laugh as she falls back into the dirt, staff still sheathed in the man's chest. ]
Sweet Andraste, that took a lot out of me! No more lightning bolts for a while.
[ Oh hey wasn't there someone pleading for help? ]
no subject
Rowan's not sure how he feels about someone shooting electricity out of their fingertips and into someone holding a metal weapon to his neck, but he's not dead so really - does he have room to complain? No. No he does not. He takes the opportunity to spring to his feet once the body goes flying, watching as Hawke promptly annihilates the Vieziri. ]
Thank you. [ He says in regard to the no-more-lightning-bolt arrangement as well as her assistance. Rowan moves over, offering a hand. ] You alright?
no subject
I should be asking you that.
[ Hawke takes his hand getting to her feet with a slight stumble, limbs a little numb with the magic she expended. Using it hadn't been the best idea considering how exhausted she already is, but when is she ever full of good ideas? Giving him a glance over she moves to grab her staff, half leaning on it as she speaks. ]
But I am fine, thank you for asking. You? They didn't get any chunks out of you did they?

BISHOP
All pretenses of hiding who he was since half the ship's already found out about his abilities, Matt's just hanging out in his business shirt and slacks, sitting atop the ship and keeping a sharp ear out for anybody new. -and then, there's someone new; a heartbeat he doesn't recognize, a strange smell, and instead of approaching as normal this new heartbeat just appears onto the ship with a startling pop of sound.
It takes Matt about fifteen seconds to make his way back inside, stalking this guy around a couple hallways before finally revealing himself, knocking a couple knuckles on the adjacent wall behind Rowan.] Hey. Over here.
no subject
Thankfully, it looks like the man isn't here to murder him. At least not yet, so the tension in Rowan's shoulders eases ever so slightly as he turns to face him. ]
I was beginning to think I was the only one here. Hi. How long have you been behind me, by the way?

Most everybody is out hunting down the scouting parties. I'd advise against going out into the woods by yourself.

His lyrium flickers into life as he surges forwards- they might be alien, but they have insides that makes them function just as any other living thing. With a metallic foosh, his hand dives into the Vizezi's chest, clamping down on whatever constitutes for the being's heart. The Vizezi crumples to the ground in a heap, and Fenris lets the lyrium fade, becoming solid again. ]
You put up a fair fight, at least. Did you not know it is dangerous to travel alone?
[Says the elf. Travelling alone. ]

I thought I could get the jump on them, and I did! This one was quick, though. [ He nudges the dead Vieziri with his foot. ] Thank you, by the way.
no subject
You are welcome. It was a close one. [He turns to squint at Rowan again. He's not the most social of butterflies, but he's been here a long time- you get to know faces.] You...are not familiar to me. Are you with the Fleet?

Planetside 2!
[Rose could walk away, and nobody would know, and she wouldn't have to put her life on the line for a stranger. One she's never even seen before on the Fleet, no less.]
[But these Vieziri look angry, and once they're done with the idiot, they'll likely survey the surrounding area. Rose knows she can't run fast enough to get to cover, and if it's going to come down to a fight, two is better than one.]
[Taking a deep breath, she gathers what mana she can from the area, and releases it as a ball of light. It doesn't do much damage to the Vieziri, but it does stun them for a few seconds, giving Rowan an opening to attack.]
Now!
no subject
How the ball of light doesn't stun him as well is beyond him, but he's not about to let this chance go now that he has it. With her go-ahead, the rogue pushes the Vieziri off him and snatches the weapon from his hand; promptly driving it into the man-creature-whatever's throat and ripping it back out not a split second later with a gush of blood. When all is said and done he stands, glancing to his savior. ]
Good work.

Wolfe limps over in a two strides, hands already starting to glow around his makeshift staff-turned-walking stick as he settles to the unknown man's side. There's something familiar about him but Adalwolfe is too worn and distracted just at the moment to place it.]
Always. Fought beside a mage before?
[He asks so he knows if he has to be careful of the guy running in and getting in the way of his more destructive spells. No one wants to accidentally take a Fist of the Maker. The answer to that question is also a lot more telling about his sudden companion's attitudes and if he has to worry about being immediately turned on the second the Viezri are out of the fight.]
no subject
Rowan asked the question before truly catching a glimpse of his new companion. The guy looks like shit — for lack of a better or more eloquent word —, like he's already fought more than his share of these cannibals and at least one of them got a bite off him. He isn't in a position to tell him to sit this one out instead though, and Wolfe looks ready to fight regardless. ]
A few. [ He doesn't seem to care either, so long as the magic isn't aimed at him. ] Try and warn me if you're tossing a fireball my way and we'll be good, yeah? [ With that, he's hopping over a few thorny brambles and brandishing his daggers. Fightin' time. ]
