Can't spell 'fun' without cannibals!

Who: Zevran and you
Broadcast: Nah
Action: Arrival on the Hell Planet
When: Right now

Closed To Rowan

[A lot has happened in the whirlwind of him arriving. The oddly calming music, the strange and colorful paper that falls from the ceiling, and the pudding. It's doesn't really fit the burnt and destroyed atmosphere that this metal vessel is giving off. He didn't except to see a dead man walk up to him. He didn't expect his heart to surge with emotions as they kissed, touched, and spoke as only lovers would back to the bedroom.

The fact that Rowan was here made things a lot easier. Rowan knew some things about this place, but they were both learning together. Like right now, as they stalked through the dense forest, moving in the shadows trying not to make themselves out to be targets.]

Why do people eat others?

[Zevran is thinking out loud as he moves with careful footsteps. Maybe this isnt the best time to be talking about such a strange subject but...]

I mean-- I feel like humans wouldn't taste very good. Or elves for that matter. Most of us are so lanky to begin with, we must not have much meat on our bones. But do you think they just look at other people and instead of thinking 'wow, what a beautiful person, I want to fuck them.' Do they think 'I want to eat them'?

Fine elven crafts OTA

[Being an assassin, Zevran doesn't like it when he doesn't have weapons. While anything can be a weapon in his hands, he prefers his blades, his poisons, and his arrows. He doesn't have any of those right now, and the things on the ship were just not the best at what he needed them to do. Lucky for him, he remembered his time with the Dalish, even if it had been rather quick. He saw how they made their tools, how difficult could that be?

Turns out, very.

Zevran is struggling over some twine that he found. It's not the best bow string but its what he has right now. He takes a large piece of wood that he has found lying in the dirt somewhere, and with one end on the ground he tries to curve it by bending and trying the twine to it. It works for a moment, but then the wood breaks, the twine snaps in his face and with a yelp he falls back and holds his sting face.

New plan. Get his weapons back.]

[ She notes the way he guards himself, just a little, and she doesn't judge him for his lack of greeting in response. She's been around Sera and Solas long enough that she doesn't expect it, despite her heritage. She might be the most Dalish person in Skyhold but it doesn't make her quite as judgemental as some of her clan had been in the past; she doesn't have the time nor the energy to do it.

They get enough of it from humans, anyway, don't they? ]

It was the same for many people in my clan. I was always interested in how to craft, however.

[ His eyes burn onto her face and she knows, without even questioning him, what he must be thinking. She speaks of her clan, of crafting, of making things, but she has no vallaslin to prove that she was ever part of one. It's a question no one has really broached, yet, and she wonders if this stranger will be the first. At least his idle flirtation makes her smile. ]

It is simply what I was taught to do. I wished to be a hunter before I became First. [ Handing out the bow, she nods her head. ] I am Leilani of Clan Lavellan.

[ Luckily, she doesn't have much of a problem being watched. She's spent the last handful of years having people watch her every move, judging her, testing her, and the gaze of a fellow elf doesn't shake her or upset her as much as it could. At least he's not scolding her or saying anything cruel, which she appreciates. She doesn't know what she would do if she had to stumble up to someone from her own clan. ]

Thank you.

[ She has her own machete at her side and she shifts, turning to look at him properly. He's handsome, she thinks, and he definitely knows he's handsome if she would hazard a guess. He reminds her a little bit of the Iron Bull, and it fills her with fondness. ]

Well met, Zevran Arainai.

[ The only problem she has now is that she's in the middle of nowhere with a stranger and too far from Justice for his gentle touches to her Anchor to soothe her. It stings, but she ignores it, trying to pretend her hand isn't glowing green and sparking a little bit, trying to hide it behind her back as she makes herself comfortable. ]

You're more than welcome. Do you have arrows for your bow?
veilstrike: (that you hear at night)

Good. The hunters do have weapons, but you have to deal with them first.

[ Makeshift arrows are better than no arrows whatsoever, and she appreciates his practicality. It means that once the bow is done he's going to be able to fend off any attackers that come, at least for a while, and hopefully pinch some other weaponry for himself once they're dealt with. Her mind is already forward, thinking about where to go from here, if she should try and meet up with Justice or hang back and go to Dorian, and he asks her another question.

Frowning, she breathes out a noise before, finally, revealing her hand, shimmering with green light. ]

Would you believe me if I told you that Fen'Harel's power was accidentally trapped in my hand?
veilstrike: (love is not a victory march)

Unfortunately.

[ All she can do is offer him her hand to look at, flexing her fingers out so her palm is face up. It's not a comfortable sight, really, and she's aware that it probably looks both dangerous and unfortunate, but she's never hid the Anchor before. There doesn't seem to be much point in doing it now. ]

It was an accident. Sort of. Darkspawn plans never work out the way they want them to.
veilstrike: (you have a choice)

A Darkspawn ritual using Fen'Harel's orb of power. It's messy.

[ But, oh. This is the first person since Solas to actually touch her hand, and she stares at his fingers against her palm for a moment before she forces herself to focus. ]

I wouldn't recommend it.
veilstrike: (sing your melody)

[personal profile] veilstrike 2017-11-07 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There is an attractive man holding her hand, and for a moment all she can do is stare at their joined palms, blinking. The last time a handsome elf had grabbed her hand he'd turned out to be something a little more dangerous. Oh, she really hopes Zevran isn't another god come to life. ]

It opens rifts. Portals to the Fade. [ Which is a confusing mess in it's own right. ] And it closes them, too.
veilstrike: (you have me believing in the holy)

[personal profile] veilstrike 2017-11-07 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Absolute nightmare why is she talking to you. ]

It's been useful, once or twice, but I don't recommend going into the Fade. Not really.

[ But her hand is her own again and she breathes out, flexing her fingers absently - at least until he keeps going, and all she can do is burst out laughing. ]

How did I never think of that one?
veilstrike: (maybe there's a god above)

[personal profile] veilstrike 2017-11-07 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[ It's incredibly clear to her that he's well aware of himself, and her smile softens as she tries to make herself comfortable. It looks like they're going to have a chat while they figure things out, and it wouldn't be the first time she made unlikely friends with someone in the middle of nowhere. ]

It's almost the same. You can feel the Fade on your skin when the Veil is thin, almost as though it is tingling and reaching out to touch you. Perhaps it's different for mages, but I have been to those areas too. You can tell.

[ The last time she was in a place like that she had her vallaslin removed, and she wonders now if Solas needed to be there for the magic to work. ]

Maybe I was not surrounded by people who were as funny as you are.
veilstrike: (a cold and broken hallelujah)

[personal profile] veilstrike 2017-11-08 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not as exciting as it sounds, I promise.

[ Mostly because it's definitely killing her and there's not much she can do about it other than tough it out or consider cutting her own arm off. At least his laughter makes her smile, and she shakes her head, almost fond already. ]

I would never say no to making more friends. Consider yourself welcome.
