1 - Mayoccia Plains
Who: Duke
Broadcast: Yes
Action: For Marsiva
When: Until shuffle-
The thing that bothers Duke most about waking up in a new place is that he woke up... cold. Space? Sure, but more important why can't he shake this chill with rubbing his arms a little.
So he stands and pulls his gloves more snugly up, and looks about. Sure. Space. First time he's seen it. He gives a small jump in place, and upon landing on the floor as normal - a click of metal heels, nods once and sits back on the bed.
So long as the gravity stays in play, he'll like this trip to space much better. Even if something has him fairly sure that 'trip to space' isn't right...
However, that is less important than the stupid cold. He did this to cups before, he can surely do it to a blanket.
The video clicks on as Duke pulled one of the blankets over, smoothing out the edge. He fishes in his pocket, frowns when he only comes up with a dark red spindle of thread, and sighs. Fine then.
Hopefully no one is too alarmed by the scent of singed cloth, because he sure is scorching some sort of angular pattern into the edge of the blanket, one red glowing symbol at a time.
"Well, this is working. That's a good mark for this place...."

Might I ask, what are you doing?
no subject
Applying the formula to the cloth. It ought to provide steady warmth when over something living when I am done.

The ship that you're on, is it too cold right now?

That should help. And once you're placed on a different ship, I found that they're generally warmer than the Marsiva. [or maybe she's just remembering that cold feeling in her bones when she woke up]

Well, good to know it gets better. Sometimes its hard to tell.

... You're an optimist, aren't you. [ He.. sounds vaguely amused. ]
no subject
Is that a funny thought?
no subject
[ He.. really isn't an optimist. ]
no subject
I'll do my best to prepare you for the rest of the fleet. You'll see, I'm not even the most optimistic one here. [something about how serious this guy is makes her want to joke around]
no subject
So he's just.. blankly staring for a moment before it clicks. Wait that was something like teasing, wasn't it. ]
I hope it isn't contagious.

Mm, I see your point. We've only just met, but I already have a hard time imagining you giggling.
no subject
[ Giggling usually happens after an.. actual smile, and ... yeah that isn't something he can place a date on doing. ]

Of course not. [haha, it's a sign she needs to dial it back a bit] I know I must come off as cavalier right now, but I'd never do something so invasive..!

[ Ooops he made a mistake in this. But it lasted longer than his usual attempts at joking, so! Tiny victory? ]
I have problems with being clear, or proper tone for these things. It is likely my fault.
no subject
Oh, there's no need to apologize.
I... have to admit, I try to sound more formal when I meet someone new. I was just a little worried that I had strayed too far in the opposite direction.

And he studies her again for a moment. There is the possibility she is of nobility, wherever she was from. He remembers how the Child of the Full Moon's speech started formal, then slowly became less so as she traveled.
... not really his business. ]
I am a poor judge of these things. [ Aka, she has no need to be worried. ]

I'm just glad that I wasn't too... rowdy.
[Nunnally's idea of rowdy is obviously.... unique is a kind word for it]
