Who: Okita Souji
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Only if you can find him where he's hiding
When: Now!
[When everyone is still reeling from dealing with what happened on the planet, what better way to cheer everyone up than some seriously weird ass fun? Totally. He has the best ideas.
So on some morning after the drift has started and the Fleet seems to be calming down, everyone will get this lovely weird message on the comms. There is no picture of the speaker attached because he sure as hell isn't giving clues to his location.]
I heard from somewhere that this is a popular game in the future.
[Attached to the message are two images:
RateMe1.jpg
and

Apparently, you look at a photograph and rate the person from 1 to 10. Feel free to send out more photographs to rate. I'm sure we all have opinions.

I wasn't hiding. I was merely not in full and complete line of sight.
Plus I couldn't not take the photo. He wasn't all angry for once.
no subject
well i can understand why he is angry, but it could be a lot worse i suppose

Also it's fascinating that this device can do it so quickly. It used to be that sitting for an image would take hours. Now it's just a click of a button. Technology is dangerous.
no subject
though to be fair this sort of thing does not exist in my world
no subject
It was a very new concept in my country, having come from the West.
no subject
though i know people sit for paintings, i guess that is the same thing? it all sounds like a waste of time to me

Although my name is out now, so I suppose anyone from Earth might recognize it.
[Which is...not an answer. After a few moments, the text continues.]
I was tasked with keeping the peace in the capital, which included fighting against the rebels who wished to overthrow the government.

[trust Tempest to simplify it] are you a famous soldier then, im not sure i understand why it is a big deal
no subject
[A very bloody job fighting a war against rebels.]
And in a way I was more...infamous than famous, I think. The opposition would have loved to know what we looked like so they could assassinate us off duty. And having our faces be mostly anonymous meant we could move more easily through the city and gather intelligence.
no subject
but that makes sense. i had to do similar to hide my identity though not for the same reasons
no subject
[Not exactly.]
But if not for those reasons, why did you have to hide your identity?
no subject
because i didnt want to be recognized by the man i was hunting
no subject
Did you catch him? The man you were hunting.
no subject
without going into the specifics of the whole damned mess, yes. i killed him
no subject
Messy or not, as long as you accomplished what you set out to do. The result you wanted was attained?
no subject
at the time it was, yes
no subject
Ah, this is the story you told me before, yes? About the one that came back to life?
no subject
that would be the one
