[Vash hated this part of being a captain. Not that it really had much to do with being a captain but more with being a friend. He takes a deep breath and then starts the broadcast.]

I'm sorry to announce everyone, but Makie has returned home. It doesn't look like she, ah, was able to leave anything behind for people. [There's a pause in there as she did leave her shamisen and her pike, but those were staying on the Twin Roses.] If you would like to talk; I don't know, share stories or something-- I'll be at the memory tree that she started. [Seemed a bit sad to add her own name to it now.] I'm happy to talk to anyone if you would like some company.

[True to his word Vash will spend most of his day at the memory tree. Before doing his shift at The Space Bar and ending the night back on the Twin Roses.]

[Vash puts the book aside when he hears someone arrive.] Glad you could make it! It is very nice in here, isn't it?

[A bit too quiet for his tastes usually, but he can see the appeal easily.] Feel free to check out the names others have put, or just relax a bit, or if you want any help adding names I have some extra paper I brought with me here.

I feel the same way about my early gaming experiences, too. ^_^

[Keith did walk over, looking at who was on it already. He recognized a few names, actually, but he wasn't sure if he really counted as the right person to put up anyone who wasn't on there, yet. He had made friends here, sure, but he wondered if he was "the friend" that should be doing it. Surely someone closer, right?

Which was why he didn't feel right about putting Shay up. She was Hunk's friend... and, well, Keith was pretty sure that Pidge and Lance were on to something by saying Hunk liked her more than that. So, he really felt like Hunk should be the one to choose if her name belonged here. And Allura... Keith sighed.]

Did you put your friend's name up, yet?

Yeah, I did. I put mine over here. [Vash points out a small, modest note set in what he thought looked like a quiet corner. Trying to envision where Makie would have put it herself if she was here. It just has a short message written with it saying how Vash would miss her.

He wasn't actually sure if that was customary or not, but he did it anyway.]

But if you'd like to add someone you can place it wherever you want to.

[tempredmental]

I might. Some other time, though. The people I'm thinking of... someone else might want to actually add them instead of me.

[He looked at Vash.]

It looks like people are using it, though. That's nice.

I admit, I'm not the one who started this tradition, but I don't think there's a rule that says only one person can put a name up. After all, people have more than one friend.

[tempredmental]

Well, yeah...

[Keith considered that as he looked over the tree.]

I'll think about it.

[In general, he tended not to be sentimental anyway, but he could see how this would be a nice gesture. He could do it later.]

I'm sure your friend would be happy to know you're keeping it going.

I hope so. [He chuckles.] Actually, she'd probably more surprised it was me. Our personalities I suppose you could say were a little different from each other.

A lot different.

Polar opposites really.

[tempredmental]

Oh, yeah? Tell me about her.

[Keith was curious. He'd never met Maki.]

Well, she was quiet. She was always calm and spoke very softly. A real classy lady. Also very respectful and polite.

I don't think she thought highly enough of herself.

[tempredmental]

A lot of people are their own worst critics, I think.

[Keith shrugged. Probably himself included.]

It seems to be fairly normal.

[goldenglasses]

[Vash chuckles because Keith has a very good point.] Yeah, I think I can agree with that! I know I am.

[tempredmental]

[Keith gave Vash a half-smile at that. Then, because he was here and it felt right, he went and picked up two pieces of paper. On one, he wrote, "Allura", and the other, "Shay". Without a word, he went and found space for the two of them to be close to one another, and then stepped back after attaching them to the tree.

He looked back at Vash.]

Thanks. I'm sure your friend would be glad you're keeping this going.
