[Video is pointless and she doesn't want to bother with text. It's hard to text and play with her pets at the same time. So, voice it is this time for her.]

I know there's a lot of humans on the ships, but what about non-humans? Seraphs, daemons, swords, weirdo fae-cat things... I know we have those, but who else is here? How do you cope?

And for the humans, I guess, how do you feel about being surrounded by those that look like you but are definitely different? Is it weird for you?

I've got no complaints.

[ and not only thanks to any adjustment that's happened aboard the blameless. kate comes from a world where the beyond-human exists in different degrees of relative harmony alongside humans. her own team had boasted mutants, aliens, interdimensional travelers... ]

I guess...I grew up in New York City. I've been around 'different' all my life. Different's great. [ ... ] My best friends have powers and abilities I can't even imagine wielding, so I guess I've learned to appreciate different.

That depends on the human. If they're kind enough then I continue as I am, otherwise I scold them as they deserve.

Humans don't really listen to scolding though. Not in my experience, here or back home.

I did once find being around non-humans a little strange, though academically curious, considering there always seems to be a new sort to learn about. Though I suppose my sense of the difference was already skewed, being a wizard.

Ehh, it doesn't really bother me that much... but that's because I've never thought about it much. I'm used to being the only Windemerean around! I never really needed to cope or anythin', 'cause my friends were always a deculture and a half, so that's all that mattered.

I haven't been in the Fleet for long, but I've spent the last two years living with humans on Earth. So it isn't so great a change for me.

It's not weird for me, but back home, non-humans aren't really on good terms with humans.
