[She's smiling. And, for once, she looks happy. It's a far cry from her last few network posts, where the smiles, if she bothered with them at all, were forced. Hell, she's practically a little ray of sunshine.]

And here I thought I'd never be so happy to see the cold stretch of space, but I prefer it to the cannibals. So here we are. [It's only a part of why she's so happy, but that's not for this post.] A concern I had back there - amongst many others - was the well being of those here in the fleet who do not know how to fight or are unable to. Many have offered lessons in the past, but I am not sure if those people are still here and if lessons are still being offered. If people are, please let us know here. Rather than having to scour the network, people can just go to this post to find out.

That being said, I'm willing to offer lessons to those interested. I strongly recommend people know a means of fighting. Using the guns the armories provide is all well and good, but if you can't access one or lose it, or if a fight turns to close quarters, having a means to fight back can mean the difference between life and death. I can offer lessons in basic hand to hand. And also in sword fighting, which I'm a fair bit more proficient at. I'd need to acquire training swords. Preferably wooden ones, but blunted metal blades would work, too.

Probably would hold them on the Iskaulit, in the black box theater. Place isn't seeing much use. And if people want to just come by and watch how a lesson goes, there's seating in there.

Private to the DA cast

So. Thanks to cannibal shenanigans, we missed Satinalia. [The horror!] If the calendar they use here more or less matches up to ours, at any rate. Rather a shame, but it is what it is. But perhaps something can be done.

Here's what I'm thinking. New Year's is coming up. And Wintersend is after that. Now, the three holidays are too far apart to get away with throwing one party for all three, but we could probably get away with throwing one for two of them. Either for Satinalia and New Year's, or New Year's and Wintersend. [Or perhaps one party for just one of them, but where's the fun in that?] I'll leave it up to you lot. A combined New Year/Satinalia one would likely be for later this month, while a New Year's/Wintersend one would be for later next month.

Oh, and this won't be anything huge. I'm not unused to throwing big parties, but... frankly I don't want to. Maybe just us dozen, with everyone able to bring a friend or two along if they'd like. With how well some of us get along, we should probably have a buffer in there anyway. [There's a wry smile. She knows how you all operate.] Let me know.

Well, of course, Fenris and I are the best of friends. And Justice is very charming.

I'm sure we can all agree to get along for one night, we might just want to keep Justice at one side of the room and Fenris at the other.

As for holiday preferences...hmm. I'm not sure. Perhaps the later date to give us time to gather supplies?

You do remember you included Dalish elves in this and named Chantry holidays, don't you, my dear? [He says this with a lot of affection and a lot of teasing. He's not actually offended that Chantry holidays are what most Thedosians are focused on. If he didn't have a pretty positive impression of Riona he wouldn't have brought it up.]

Although I did have a conversation once with a very drunk dwarf who insisted that Satinalia is for all of us. Too bad we're very far from our moons. Honestly any excuse to dress up and have a celebration is a good excuse to me. We could even make masks and refuse to wear them just because we don't want to be mistaken for Orlesians.

Satinalia is a pretty fun time, yes. Though I would absolutely not wear a mask. It'd be the Fereldan thing to do.

I've never really celebrated any of those holidays properly, only in the way that the Inquisition thought to celebrate them. You may have to teach me.

Well, "properly" celebrating them might be impossible here. New Year's is usually a day for visiting family and friends, and Satinalia involves masks an revelry. Honestly, this would mostly be an excuse to just have food and drinks.

I suppose I could assist. I doubt I could provide instruction on anything more than the basics, but I could at least serve as a suitable partner.

[Most people wouldn't really be able to practice any fighting style that requires more than two arms, after all. But with most people, she could at least afford to take it easy and let a few attacks slip through without concern.]

Then they would only need worry about injuring themselves.

[Justice wonders who else fights within those from their world. He's not aware of many, but he doesn't doubt Riona when she implies there are more. These are the kinds of mortals that get into fights.]

My only experience with these holidays has been in dreams and memories. I would be amenable to celebrating any of them, but I do not know which are more meaningful for those in the Fleet.

Dreams are all well and good, but experiencing will be far better.

[He waits until she's done making her little address to both the rest of the Fleet and their fellow Thedosians before he approaches her. Since the upgrades to the ship has been processed, they have a larger room with a comfortable bed and many nice, new amenities for the both of them.

And, well, there's plenty of room for them to do things besides stay in bed all day when they're not helping around the ship.]

[She turns to him, smile on her face as he speaks. The Blight taught her how to be one, built on the lessons her parents instilled in her early on. Life at court strengthened them and tested them, and now here she is. Far from perfect, but she tries.]

I thought it was because of my swaying hips? [She softly bites on her bottom lip to keep from laughing.] Given the range of personalities and personal conflicts amongst our number from Thedas, someone has to try and keep the peace.

As long as some sort of truce is called, I'd be happy to attend whatever party you see fit. We're not going to require services in the Interfaith center beforehand though, are we? Mother always insisted on Satinalia services. Though I suppose I could always nap.

As for the fighting, I'd be happy to help if you need someone with magical expertise or for any students to learn how to defend against spells.
