[according to the scanners, the fleet is hitting some kind of anomaly today... or is it? the electronics have all been acting very strangely today. it's hard to tell which readings are real, and which are errors.

like this reading here that says the temperature is plummeting into the negatives. it doesn't feel cold, does it? and this one saying that life-forms are popping up all over the ship is very strange.

though, then again, maybe you're seeing things. if there is something going on with the electronics, maybe it's affecting the augments as well... because some of these things that you're seeing just can't be real.

or maybe you're feeling fine (you're sure of it) and that crewmate of yours--the one who is sitting in the corner and meticulously wadding up an entire roll of toilet paper--he is the one obviously having problems.

either way, between the electronics malfunctioning and the crews' questionable grasp on reality, it's impossible to tell if the strange broadcast crackling through waves of static is even really happening.]

TEN. NINE. [--the voice is digital. robotic. nothing like the boisterous man's voice that follows]

Am I calibrated? I don't feel calibrated... [more static. hissing and buzzing.]

EIGHT. --No, I can't do that. Just get it done, and-- SEVEN. SIX.

Ha! [he laughs. and a woman laughs along with, somewhere deeper in the interference.] Like that would ever happen. FIVE. ...Yeah, get a load of this guy, right? Classic.

Don't forget to smile, darlin'. FOUR. ...Okay, okay. I got it.

[the buzzing rises. and he suddenly sounds much more serious.] Sure. Whatever you say.

THREE. TWO.

--I hate this part--

(ooc: happy april first, floots. these effects only last ICly for today, but feel free to backtag and whatnot if you come to the party late. feel free to use this post for all reactions, hallucinations, confused broadcasts, checking on your crew, or any other related hijinks. have fun!)

Getting a lot of weird readings. There was something announced, I think, but there was so much static I couldn't make it out. I didn't... look too long at them. I don't know electronics, and I was afraid of doing anything to make them worse. All I saw was the temperature reading going nuts - said it was -15 degrees on the bridge. Oh, and that we were approaching a moon or something in twenty meters. I... looked out the windows. No moon in sight.

That's not good at all. I hope the autopilot is still functioning properly?

destinyembrace: (This is how we'll dance when)

I think it still is. We haven't run into anything yet. I'll... keep an eye out the window.

[Beverly starts to nod and then... ]

Kairi-

[She sinks to the floor, her body unable to maintain the dancing any longer. Terribly, the urge is still there though and she's shaking.]

destinyembrace: (I never thought what would take me out)

[Oh crap.]

Beverly! [Kairi fights the panic as she rushes to Beverly's side. She drops down next to her, unsure as to whether or not to hold her still.] Do you - what can I do? Do you want me to move you?

[With effort, she shakes her head.]

Don't think we can. Medkit in sickbay.

[She's too exhausted to say anything else and drops her head to the floor, eyes closed.]
destinyembrace: (I give it all my oxygen)

i don't have a running/hectic rush icon so have some parkour

[Oh crap oh crap oh crap. Kairi has never had to go full on medic before. Sure, she's patched up scrapes and cuts, both her own and her friends', but nothing like this. Still trying to fight the panic, she scrambles to her feet and rushes to the sickbay.

Medkit, medkit, medkit... She pushes some stuff aside, looking for it. In her near panic, she completely misses that it's in plain sight until a minute or two of frenzied searching later. If she were the kind to curse, she'd be cussing herself out right about now for missing it. Instead, she grabs it and races back towards Beverly.

What to do? It's not like Beverly is injured, just exhausted. Kairi opens the kit and rummages through it, trying to find something in there that could help her. She doesn't want to ask Bev as she's so tired (and possibly passed out), but Kairi's absolutely flummoxed.]

[Fortunately, Beverly is still aware enough to take charge. Her legs are twitching uselessly, but she manages to pull herself up to a sitting position using one of the nearby pieces of exercise equipment.]

Thank you. I'll take... medkit.

[Once Kairi hands it to her, she'll find a sedative, in pill form, and pops it into her mouth. She attempts to smile reassuringly at Kairi.]

A sedative. Once asleep, then Hawke can help ... move me. Tell Allen too. Watch my pulse.

[The medication quickly takes effect. Her eyelids droop and she slumps against the machine.]
