[ The video opens with Leilani fiddling with something in her hands, but she's quick to turn her attention to the camera and focus on the people she's talking to. She's well practiced at the art of focussing her attention on people rather than things; the Inquisition had demanded it from her, and she barely had any time of her own. No time for worries or fears or sadness; only work and fighting for whatever future Thedas had left. ]

In my clan we did not celebrate the winter as the rest of the world did. I didn't recognise that there were different celebrations until I became the Inquisitor, and then it felt as though I was pretending to understand something that was completely alien to me.

[ Frowning, she drops the necklace from her hands. ]

I'd like to know more about your traditions, if you'll appease me. I've never had much time to sit and talk about these sorts of things, so anything that you might be able to tell me would be welcome. There is always time to learn something new.

[ It also distracts her, so it's a welcome relief. ]

That sounds familiar. Sometimes there is so much work to do that there is no time for any kind of rest, let alone a celebration. We were lucky to have a few hours for prayers or spending time with our families.

[ There were things to mend and grow and harvest and hunt, and it never ended - she had studies, a Keeper to follow, things to learn. ]

I appreciate the kindness. [ And she just beams, definitely Not Getting It. ] I'm glad to be close to him again. It's been some time.

Yeah, finding that time just gets harder and harder. It's been three years since we won the war, but there's always something keeping us from just...relaxing, I guess?

[Or even just spend time working out where he wants to be in this whole new world. Back home there has been very little him-time. ]

Don't mention it, we look out for here on the Blue Fish. Congrats, you picked the best ship to be on. [Aww, that's adorable. ] Yeah? Well, I'm glad you two can be together again, it's nice.

There is always the fear that there may be another. That feeling does not go away.

[ It happened with the Inquisition, too; there's always something to do, a disagreement to settle, a war to fight, be it personal or political. ]

It's certainly becoming the most fabulous. [ She says it with fondness, her expression warm. ] I'm simply happy to be here with him. For him.

I kind of expected as much.

[He really would like everything to chill the heck out now. The war robbed him of his childhood- he'd rather it NOT rob him of his young adult years as well. ]

Dorian ups the fabulousness 60% all by himself. But it's sweet you came to be with him. You know, if you guys ever want to combine your rooms together, that's totally an option on the upgrade system.

[veilstrike]

Perhaps it'll be better in a decade.

[ She makes no promises, however. The suggestion makes her pause and she frowns. ]

Why would we want our rooms together?

We gotta hope, right?

[He knows from Korra that it sure does not, but what can you do. ]

Oh...well, I don't want to presume, maybe you're not there in your relationship yet. I just figured if you were moving ships to be with him, you might wanna be a little closer?

[veilstrike]

[ For a moment all Leilani can do is stare at Sokka, her eyes widening for a moment before - well.

She bursts out laughing. ]

Dorian and I... Our relationship?

Yeah, you know because of the-

[He pauses, squinting a little. ]

Whiiiiich now you're laughing I'm guessing isn't actually a... relationship relationship.

[ At least it isn't malicious laughter! ]

Dorian and I are nothing more than very good friends.

[alwayscomeback]

[He will take it! ]

Wooow, well. Now I officially feel super awkward. Sorry for the assumption.

There's no need to apologise. It's not the first time someone has questioned it.

Wow, really? That's...kind of comforting. Still. I'm glad you've got uh...a close friend here, and let's just pretend I didn't insinuate you were gonna get a room together to bump uglies.

I suppose we are very close. [ She shakes her head, fond. ] I am not insulted. He is very handsome.

I think it's the moustache that does it. That's an impressive moustache.

He is very proud of his moustache. It makes him look quite dignified.

It does.

So, I take it you two have been friends for a very long time?

[veilstrike]

[ She can't help how she squints, just a little, and the tone of 'friends'. ]

It has been some years now, yes.

Well, that's good. Having lifelong friends like that. It's good to have them here with you.
