She dresses up for the occasion, nothing too fancy but she doesn't have a problem producing a flattering cocktail dress for the occasion. It looks appropriate with the glass of champagne in her hand and her smile.
Not exactly festive, but still in the spirit of the holiday as she mingles.]

it's not much but I figured you might like it.
[ inside the box are three glass wind chimes. but the paintwork is clearly done by hand. ]
I know we don't get a long of wind but you know, sometimes the air ventilation systems run a little quicker and then it might still have the same effect. and if not, you know, you could take then outside to the planet, if you ever rent a room or a cabin. there are nice once on this planet.
[ erm. he's being awkward about it, isn't he? ]
happy christmas, nat.

Not the usual way we tend to meet, eh?
peggy carter »
peggy plays out the celebration like the distant head of a family -- letting others look after the cooking, the decorating, and the thrust of nearly all the socializing. blouse, skirt, heels; she forgoes a fancy dress, perhaps because she feels strange 'dressing up' on her own ship. but it's clear extra attention was paid to her curls with a comb pulling a section artfully back from the side of her face. and her lipstick, tonight, is a rich and lively red.
before dinner, she holds dominion in the lounge -- overseeing the modest selection of spirits, telling guests to help themselves, and never seen too far away from a nursed glass of something amber and neat. peggy also takes it upon herself to curate the soundtrack, and it guests and shipmates alike might need to squabble with her a bit in order to get their record selections onto the player.
after they've finished with the food, she sticks close to the kitchen. not to help clean up (god forbid) but to pick at the remains of the christmas pudding and to put the kettle on. join her for a mug, maybe, or just stop by to notice how there's a flush of happiness in her expression. and maybe just a bit of...nerves? is it possible that peggy carter is nervous about something?
but, ultimately, she's approachable on her own ship. and welcoming enough, despite whatever lies steve rogers might have told you. ]

I'm pretty glad none of them had to be carried out. Thor's Asgardian stuff has a hell of an effect.

He did also bring something else: a bottle of Asgardian whisky. The bottle doesn't often leave his hand - not because he's drinking all the time, but because he's got a shade of responsibility about him and doesn't exactly know how many people here can handle the liquor. Anyone wanting to try it will have to make their case to him (it's not too hard, honestly). Towards the end of the night, though, the bottle might get left on a table somewhere.
Thor spends the party greeting everyone he runs into, friend and stranger alike. He's not shy about it, even if someone else is.]

A collection of short, unhappy sounds and wandering at a distance, annoyed at little projects here and there, or at his own aggravations about his leg as he waits for it to be smoothed out. The reasoning becomes obvious when word of Furiosa's departure from the fleet reaches everyone; he's quietly upset, that feeling in his chest like a vice, and something related to -- but not being -- loss is heavy in his gut. Suffice to say, that and the entire concept of happy holidays makes him unpleasant. For the most part.
Indeed, Max is the grinch on the Starstruck who comes out of his room long enough to steal food and hobble one-leggedly back towards his humble abode. Feel free to cut him off or find him pilfering all the food (that Jarvis probably made, I dunno, whoever that butler guy is), but approach with caution. Or, you know, don't, because what's he gonna do about it, huh??
Max does at least hesitantly make a stop at his record player of course--
... If the christmas record is playing he's going to take it and hide it.
It goes without saying.
And instead, he'll play the new Fleetwood Mac album he received, wrapped in hideous flamingo wrapping paper. The soft sound of Dreams is starting up -- and he admits, it's not a bad sound. Enough to even keep him around for a short while before he gets up to make an escape, sitting with eyes closed as he absorbs the songs that play out.
Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering
What you had
And what you lost...
And what you had...
And what you lost...
Haaah.
He misses Furiosa madly. It's... very aggravating.
Rock the dog curls up at his foot, enjoying the atmosphere far more than his owner.]

howard is lured over by the change in music, setting an ornately wrapped gift in all gold down by rock as he stoops to greet him first. dogs always deserve first greet, he thinks. especially ones you saved once. he offers the mutt a pat on the head and a bright smile. he even tells him "merry christmas" and feeds him a treat from his pocket. now... onto the hard stuff. he straightens up and picks back up his gift, offering it to max. ]
I hope everything is to your liking. [ and he actually does. whenever max opens the gift he'll find a leg in black metal inside the box. it's lightweight and good for running. there are also grips and divets carved in for climbing as well as a piece at the ankle that protrudes, but not too much if he wants to wear shoes. it's the ideal place to tie the leg down in case he needs to keep it in place. there are several built-in compartments as well as dedicated places to hide weapons. since he specifically said no rocket launcher... howard took the liberty of building in another weaponized function. the leg is well-insulated for the user but if someone else is touching the leg there is a small remote that he can carry -- there are three functions on it. one is a homing beacon in case it should ever be misplaced, another is a well-protected self-destruct mechanism in case it should fall into the wrong hands. aka anyone but max's. and the third is... a tazer function. to be activated remotely or while wearing the leg. the user cannot be zapped unless his hands come into direct contact with the surface while it's fully charged. ]

A good way to spend the time.
As it stands, he makes at least one dish each Avenger or Starstruck crew member would probably like most as his brand of Christmas present. He should probably try to enjoy the get together personally, but he can't help but wander about a bit and make sure nothing's burning down or what have you during the cooking and serving process... He likes doing this sort of thing. It's what he finds some comfort in.
Any interrogation on his skills in picking your favorite foods will be for naught.
He'll die with the knowledge!
Feel free to find said favorite dish to indulge in, at the kitchen counter or where it's being served.
............
Also, behold as he glowers at his Atroma-sponsored Christmas gift, wrapped in the absolute worst paper.
What a hideous nightmare.]
They're just mocking me every holiday, now, aren't they?
no subject
I'm pretty sure they're under the false impression that they're funny.
[ granted, steve doesn't know the full story behind the flamingos. but he knows just enough to understand the mr. jarvis isn't too fond of the pink birds. he's gracious enough not to ask. ]
Well, mine isn't as creative.
[ it's a big box, the one that hosts his gift to mr.jarvis but it's wrapped in emerald paper, nice and traditional. no birds. inside are twenty four of these. ]

And when he finds his gift from the Atroma, an awkwardly wrapped package covered in flamingos, he rips away the paper, a broad grin on his face. Give him a moment with his wings, he missed them.

When she gets there she sees the decorations she helped with and feels warm, her smile softening into something a little gentler. Her hair is tied up and her dress is plain and simple, but she thinks it works for the occasion. It's not the fancy Samhain balls, but it is a nice party, and she wants to look her best; there's no Ignis to come as her date, but she has her own pride and her own stubbornness to keep her head up and her attention focussed.
For the most part she wanders around, a drink in her hand, doing her best to mingle. She does, of course, spend a bit of time trying to catch the people she knows, but she's more than happy to greet anyone unfamiliar to her, happy to try and make new friends. Each person is another friend, she hopes, and if they're people that Steve knows... Well, she feels as though she can trust them. ]
