Canon Updates Can Be Hard to Do
Who: Keith, OTA
Broadcast: None
Action: Huntress, Iskaulit
When: Starting Dec 16, through to the end of the month
Huntress
[After Lance left, Keith came out of his room to refamiliarize himself with the ship. It was a strange feeling. He knew it hadn't been as long as he thought it was, but he had so much new stuff crammed into his head. What felt like months, maybe a whole year, while he was only gone for maybe a week? It was a strange sensation.
Shipmates would first notice that he wasn't wearing the familiar white and red armor, but something darker... black with purple, and it had a hood he could pull up over his head. He still had the Paladin armor, as it had remained in his room during his disappearance, but he no longer felt right wearing it.
He visited the bridge (the pilot station), the lounge, and a few other places. He found the wrapped gift in the cargo bay.
He wasn't sure how to feel about it, but it was definitely his knife. He attached the sheath to the back of his belt in its usual place, intent on heading out with no word to anyone about it.]
=====
Iskaulit
[Keith spent most of his time on the Iskaulit in the gym, working with his new gift... a large dagger that had a glowing emblem on the hilt. He seemed frustrated by something about it as he worked with it.
Outside of the gym, he visited the lecture hall to check on the information stash, and he also stopped by The Melting Pot for some food. Eventually, he wound up at Team Voltron's Lion's Den, but he hovered at the door, uncertain about entering.]
=====
Planet
[Snowmobiles? Racing? Consider it done. Keith was using the speed and racing to clear his head. In some ways, it worked even better than physical training. The idea of letting everything go from his mind to focus on not crashing was a good way to get his head on straight, right? Plus, it was almost symbolic the way the wind from racing along blew away all his cares.
That didn't mean he wasn't up for a race or two. In fact, he relished the idea of doing it, taking on challenges that might seem a little crazy.]

[He knows that he's been holding these sorts of feelings in, but he hadn't expected them to come out now. Still, Lance won't blame him, make-out session put on hold be damned. Because Keith is what matters here, and he wants nothing more than to make him feel better.
Lance begins to stroke through his hair, holding his form close.]
You didn't mess up. You did your best--you did more than you had to. You were ready to give your quiznaking life, and even if I hate more than anything that you felt you had to do that, I... It's not your fault that things got that desperate. We should have done better as Voltron. Me and the others... We shouldn't have let it get to that point. You can't put the blame on yourself. No one blames you.
[It terrifies him, thinking how close he was to losing Keith. Makes his blood run cold, and that first night when they returned to the fleet, he'd woken up several times during the night just to make sure Keith was still there with him.]
We failed you. I failed you when you needed me. And I'm not going to do it again.
no subject
You didn't. You didn't fail me.
[He picked his head up, rubbing his face roughly to push away the tears.]
You supported me... against everything else. Even my own judgement. Even without remembering this place. You gave me a chance. I was the one that screwed it up. That was all me.
But... it meant a lot... what you said. And listening. And trusting me. I was really bad at it, but... I still really appreciated you doing that. It meant a lot to me.

Lance doesn't think he's very good at much, but helping others is something he can do. He might not be a leg anymore but he'll still support the rest of his team, family, friends as such. That's something he won't stop doing.]
I won't stop doing that. And I'll be there for you even more than I was before. I won't lose you again, okay? You're never going to feel alone again. I promise, I'm going to prove that to you every day until you're sick to death of me.
no subject
I can't even tell you how much that means...
[He honestly didn't know what he did to get all this support from people. Everyone had always just given up on him, or left him, or whatever... and then he met Shiro, and then ended up part of Voltron... and it just... it was another thing that hurt in a good way. He wanted it, needed it, craved it more than he himself knew. And he was so afraid of losing it all, of his entire world just falling apart at the seams all over again.
He put his hands on the back of Lance's neck, holding their heads close together, just letting himself settle into this moment. His hands still trembled, but he was calmer, like a dam that broke and then the waters settling back into place where they had been before they'd been blocked. Keith wasn't sure when it had happened, but Lance had suddenly become his stability in Shiro's absence...
And he was okay with that.]
Thank you.

Right now, though, he felt a sense of comfort in that he was able to help Keith. To make him feel better, to feel like he might be making a difference here after all.]
You don't have to thank me. Seeing you happy is enough. Being able to be with you... It's still kind of crazy to me that I actually have you.
no subject
[The whole thing was crazy... how all these feelings had sort of just snuck up on them like that. But he really didn't mind. It was a nice feeling... a good feeling.]
I want you to be happy, too, though. Okay? You'll let me help you, too, right?
no subject
[He grins a little, kissing him gently.]
Then I've done something right.
no subject
Still... there's got to be something more than that, right?
[He didn't feel right that Lance's happiness would hinge so heavily on his own.]
no subject
[Lance laughs. He feels some of the weight leave his shoulders for now.]
My priorities are straight. Well. Straight isn't the word for it, I guess.
no subject
No... I guess that means your priorities are gay.
[Good job, Lance. Keith was able to manage a joke.]
no subject
[Lance is the most charming person in the universe. Prove him wrong.]
no subject
Yeah... [He reached around, and took Lance's hand in his own, tangling their fingers together.]
Sorry if I messed up the moment.
no subject
[He purses his own lips for one.]
no subject
You look like a total dork doing that.
[But, he leaned in anyway, and kissed Lance, stopping any protest.]
no subject
[Okay. He'll stop the teasing back for now, because kisses! Kisses are good, and their make out session from before got interrupted by bad feels. It's good feels time, though, and he's happy to go right back into it.]
no subject
[Keith was amused, though, and smiled as he kissed Lance back. This was definitely a lot better, and a lot less about distractions from dark feelings.]

[He loves that he can get him to react like this. That all it takes is to just brush his fingers against his back to have him seeming like he's weak in the knees. Lance dares to slide his hand further up the back of Keith's shirt, exploring his skin with his hand.
Yup. Definitely glad for the locked door.]
no subject
[Further up his back, it just felt nice to have Lance's hands warm against his bare skin. Keith wasn't surprised that his boyfriend's hands were soft, either. It was just, in this kind of moment, having Lance's hands on his skin around his waist was almost a tease...]
There has to be something that you like, too.
[He leaned his head down a bit, his breath tickling at Lance's neck for a few seconds before he started kissing there, right at the pulse point.]
no subject
Lance inhales sharply when he feels Keith's lips on his neck, because that feels great. Keith can probably feel Lance's hands momentarily tremble against his back.]
That--yeah, I'm pretty positive I like that.
no subject
That, huh? Just that?
[He did it again.]
no subject
That's a start.

[Apparently his ears are a thing too, which he didn't know until now, and his nails scrape against Keith's back.]
