Canon Updates Can Be Hard to Do
Who: Keith, OTA
Broadcast: None
Action: Huntress, Iskaulit
When: Starting Dec 16, through to the end of the month
Huntress
[After Lance left, Keith came out of his room to refamiliarize himself with the ship. It was a strange feeling. He knew it hadn't been as long as he thought it was, but he had so much new stuff crammed into his head. What felt like months, maybe a whole year, while he was only gone for maybe a week? It was a strange sensation.
Shipmates would first notice that he wasn't wearing the familiar white and red armor, but something darker... black with purple, and it had a hood he could pull up over his head. He still had the Paladin armor, as it had remained in his room during his disappearance, but he no longer felt right wearing it.
He visited the bridge (the pilot station), the lounge, and a few other places. He found the wrapped gift in the cargo bay.
He wasn't sure how to feel about it, but it was definitely his knife. He attached the sheath to the back of his belt in its usual place, intent on heading out with no word to anyone about it.]
=====
Iskaulit
[Keith spent most of his time on the Iskaulit in the gym, working with his new gift... a large dagger that had a glowing emblem on the hilt. He seemed frustrated by something about it as he worked with it.
Outside of the gym, he visited the lecture hall to check on the information stash, and he also stopped by The Melting Pot for some food. Eventually, he wound up at Team Voltron's Lion's Den, but he hovered at the door, uncertain about entering.]
=====
Planet
[Snowmobiles? Racing? Consider it done. Keith was using the speed and racing to clear his head. In some ways, it worked even better than physical training. The idea of letting everything go from his mind to focus on not crashing was a good way to get his head on straight, right? Plus, it was almost symbolic the way the wind from racing along blew away all his cares.
That didn't mean he wasn't up for a race or two. In fact, he relished the idea of doing it, taking on challenges that might seem a little crazy.]

Meanwhile, Shiro is still not amused.] I did back home, yes. And I tried here again, it didn't work. It stays long like this.

[Oh, hey... dog nibbles? Keith flinched automatically before he could catch himself. It had been a long time since he'd dealt with a puppy, and he'd never really had one of his own.]
no subject
[And he's so excited about it, can't you tell?(/sarcasm) When he notices Kieth flinching, though, he quickly approaches them and picks up Procyon to scold him. The puppy answer with a little whine and lowering his ears. It seems he truly understands what he's being told.]

How long do glitches usually last?
[They'd only been through that one during their sleepover party in the lecture room, and Keith wasn't sure he liked seeing Shiro's hair that way. It... Well, it reminded Keith of finding Shiro almost dead in that Galra fighter, and all the fear and grief and anger Keith had gone through before they'd found Shiro again, and yeah. Keith wanted this glitch gone fast.]

[And he doesn't want Procyon to have the habit of chewing on other things that aren't his toys, either. That said, he does put the puppy on his shoulders, knowing he likes it there.]
I'm not sure how long they last, I only know I'll have to wait for it to go away. Lance has been helping me take care of it. [He comes closer and asks with a softer voice.] How have you been feeling, buddy?
[Things were pretty awkward when he last checked on him and Lance that night.]

Keith didn't like it... the glitch. It hurt.
But, when Shiro asked him how he was feeling... that was a complicated question with a complicated answer.]
Well, this planet isn't giving me all those weird vibes again, if that's what you're asking about. [Which Keith had a feeling that wasn't all of it.]
no subject
It's good to hear that, but that's not what I was asking about. And I suspect you know what I meant.
[Come on, Keith, you know Shiro doesn't like to push.]
no subject
I don't know if it's a good thing being back here not. I'm glad that we didn't lose any time back home, so I guess that means we won't this time around, either. But... it's frustrating. Not knowing what's going to happen next.
[Which, also, was probably not what Shiro was asking about, but Keith had gotten good at deflecting.]
no subject
[He pauses before trying again.]
You're alive, and that's what matters the most.
no subject
But, yeah. That.
He looked down.]
Yeah... [Sure, he was alive, and that was good, but... at what expense? What was Lotor going to expect for that? Surely it wasn't just him feeling generous and helpful, right?]
