I've heard of a few people finding surprises in the cargo bays of their ships and it seems it's my turn. I wanted to share them - especially for those of us from Thedas.

[He turns then, and shows what he was given. It is a collection of books. He's managed to get them into his room and has them organized by publish date. The first one has the title The Dasher's Men and the last declares itself The Inquisitor Lavellan Story. The only thing stopping this from being a complete collection is the missing copy of Tale of the Champion.]

The nearly complete works of one Varric Tethras. I even have the newest part to Swords and Shields for those of us who like silly romances.

[He smiles in a way that hints he's remembering something fondly.]

I am of course willing to let others borrow them, provided they're treated well. Each one is signed by the author to me and I like having a reminder of home.

[Even more so when the reminder is that somewhere out there his friends actually know him. After a moment, he addresses his shipmates,]

Thank you for everyone on the Wonderduck who helped me get them to my room. They turned out to be rather heavy. Someone needs to tell Varric to write shorter books...

Oh...um. Thank you. I...didn't think of it that way.

Don't worry, I'm sure I'll think it enough for both of us.

[Cyril you're gonna kill him. He chuckles, awkward, shifting from foot to foot. ]

Yes...well.

[samahl]

[He might, but Fenris being flustered is perhaps far more endearing than it should be. Still, consent is important, so Cyril adds,]

Unless you'd rather I not? I can keep my thoughts pure if it makes you uncomfortable.

[wolfuncaged]

[He clears his throat, waving a hand dismissively. ]

No...it's fine. I am just...unused to it.

[Not really true, what with Isabela and Kirk and suchlike but still. ]

[samahl]

That makes me worry that everyone in the Fleet is blind. I wouldn't want them flying ships that way.

[wolfuncaged]

[He laughs at that, a little embarrassed, but a genuine laugh all the same. ]

You flatter me.

[samahl]

I'm trying, at least.

[wolfuncaged]

You're doing very well.

[samahl]

It's good to have one's efforts acknowledged.

Then, I suppose, the next question is if you enjoy the flattery. I can always stop if that's not the case.

[wolfuncaged]

[He shifts his feet, awkward. ]

I don't hate it? [He kind of likes it, but admitting that out loud seems a little trite.] That is to say...I don't mind.

[samahl]

Then next I'll find a way to compliment the incredible shade of your eyes. I'll have to think of a clever way to work it into conversation, though.

[Oh, Cyril. He coughs, laughing- a blush crossing his cheeks. ]

Oh...of course. Must be suave about these things, after all.

[samahl]

Of course. How else will I keep up my allure?

[wolfuncaged]

Ah, yes. The air of mystery does you very well.

[samahl]

It compliments my pretty remarkable backside. [It's almost too easy to slip into his pseudo-vanity in an effort to keep people at ease.]

And yet none of my assets can hold a candle to yours.

[wolfuncaged]

[A surprised laugh bubbles out of him. ]

Maker, you and Isabela would get along like a house on fire.

But I suppose I can take a compliment when I'm given one.

[samahl]

[That is a beautiful sound he would happily hear again.]

From what I've read of her, I'll take that as a compliment as well.

[wolfuncaged]

I would. I have a lot of respect for the woman, despite her... frustrating ways.

[samahl]

Everyone has something that can be frustrating about them. The mark of true friendship is when what you like about someone outweighs the frustration.

[wolfuncaged]

Oh yes, and I...really do care for her. She is a good friend.

[samahl]

I'm glad that you have friends like that back home. They help.

[wolfuncaged]

They do, I have not seen them for quite some time- with the exception of their brief stays here or in Exsilium. Or at all, in some cases.

[HE MISSES YOU SEBASTIAN, WHERE YOU AT??? ]

That can't be easy. Though, you seem to have made a place for yourself here. Whenever people discover I'm from Thedas they bring you up first.

[That's...somewhat surprising, and he can't help a small smile crossing his face. ]

Is that so? They bring up good things, I hope.
