Cole doesn't like the communicators. He finds it too disorientating to talk to people and have that vast distance between them.

Instead, he's setting out to visit each of the ships and meet the people on board. He likes people and he likes meeting and talking with people and he'd far rather do that face to face.

Don't worry. He doesn't take up much space and he takes up no supplies. He just wants to meet people.

But... he gives The Tourist and The Three Twins a wide berth. Fenris had been very clear that he was not to see Cole again and Cole will respect that by avoiding the places he seems to be.

Anyone from those ships will have to be visitors somewhere else to run into Cole.

At any rate, how have you been fairing since we spoke last?

I've been meeting people. Most of them are very nice. Some of them are very hurt and scared and angry. I hope I can help them.

[invigorates]

[ she smiles softly at that, ] 'Tis a trying time for many, even here. I am sure you will do just fine if the need arises for you to help them.

I try to help them. I don't think I can always do it. Which is... I don't like that.

[invigorates]

You may not be able to help everyone, Cole. But what effort you put forth will still count for something. [ she reaches out to try and touch his arm in what is supposed to be a reassuring gesture - assuming he doesn't pull away. ]

[He doesn't pull away. He shies, briefly, but allows it by moving into it.]

I know. You can't always help people. But you can try.

[ she takes that as a sign to press forward, letting her hand rest gently atop his forearm for now in a way that could only be described as motherly. ]

Just do not forget to help yourself as well, Cole. Or, at the very least, allow others to do the same.

I don't need help.

When I did, the Inquisitor and Solas and Varric helped me. Though Solas didn't help me like I asked him to. He said it was abuse.

[ everyone needs help, bro. ]

Abuse? Might I ask what you mean, exactly?

He said binding a spirit was abusing it, even if the spirit asked to be bound.

[invigorates]

[ she furrows her brows. ] Binding a spirit to what, or whom, I suppose?

I asked Solas to bind me. So no one else could. They couldn't make me hurt people. But he said no.

[invigorates]

Ah - but Varric and the Inquisitor helped you, you said? Or was that for an entirely different issue?

[He nods slowly.]

They all helped me. Solas helped in another way.

They made me this Cole, not a different one.

[invigorates]

[ she doesn't exactly get it, but she smiles nonetheless, squeezing his arm gently. ] They did well. I quite like this Cole.

Maybe I would have liked a different Cole, as well.

I am certain any Cole would have been as delightful as you are now.

Ah - pleasant to be around, charming, [ in a kind of weird way? ] Endearing. That is what delightful means - and yes, that is what I believe you are.
