ACTION - Iskaulit
[The planet is a great distraction. But it's not quite enough. Sometimes the stretch of a white field is a little too familiar, and he expects to see the blocks of a Niflheim base over the crest of the next hill. Sometimes Pryna races ahead of him through the trees, and he has to stop himself from tripping over his feet and looking for MTs laying in the snow.
Getting back into a routine helps, and a big part of that is heading over to the Iskaulit every morning and running.
His music is up louder than usual, and he's a bit lost in his head. But he'll offer up canned, smiling, greetings to anyone he does happen to notice.]
PRIVATE to Noctis
[It's a good thing, Prompto thinks, that this planet has fishing. Because getting Noctis up and out of the ship was a must. It still hurt to have Luna and Ignis gone. Some days, he still expected to wander out and find Iggy working on breakfast. He couldn't imagine how much harder it was for his friend.
The dogs were happy to lope around and stretch their legs as well. Gods, he was ever so happy to see Pryna. What a bittersweet gift that had been.
He's happy to play with Umbra and Pryna in the snow while Noct does his thing with the fish.]

The only time he manages such a feat is when he's trying to line up a good shot on his camera. Or with his gun.
"But you know I'm happy to hang out while you do your thang." After all, they'd always indulged Prompto's desire to pull over at every overlook and photo-op and posed for his lens.

"Well thanks. It's not just for me, I'm making a stockpile for the ship too. We can buy some food in town too. We need real food, I want to eat that gel stuff as little as possible." he is pretty sure it isn't real food. "And we can get junk too, we can go to that bakery we passed in town and clean them out then go home." and eat all of it. And be losers. He loves it?
no subject
"That's a great idea. We could use more real food on the ship." He forgot sometimes that Noctis was the cook on their ship - and now the only cook. "How many fish have you caught so far?"
no subject
"Don't I know it. That gel isn't fit for human consumption. Not everybody will be into fish but still, look at this!" he had a cooler he brought along that was brimming with catches. "About twenty, most of them small easy ones but I'm going for quantity not quality... the big heavy ones tend to be more boney anyway."

"I mean... we have no idea when we will be on a planet like this again. I say we get as much as we can store and hold out. It's the least we can do... have you been taking photos of this place?"
no subject
Prompto plops himself down on ground and digs through his pockets. Of course he wouldn't come all the way out here without treats. Maybe they're not as good as fresh fish, but surely the dogs will understand the need to conserve the fresh meat supply? He asks each one to sit and shake paw before handing over a snack.
He has to roll his eyes at the question. "Dude, it's me. I've got, like, a million pictures of this place. Wanna see?"
no subject
The dogs can smell those treats and they are still welcome. Even if it's not meat, they will gobble up any kibble he has in his pockets. They will shake his hand with big toothy grins.
"Sure, let me... hold on." he already caught another fish. It was a small one, he could reel it in quickly. It was big enough for a couple filets though, at least two meals for somebody.
"Alright, let me see."
no subject
He scratches and pets the dogs while Noctis takes care of the last fish, then makes room for his friend, leaning in close so they both can share the small view screen. He scrolls back a bit, a stops at a photo of their shared room. Specifically, Noctis still in bed, with the dogs piled up around him. It was too cute to resist, despite there really not being enough bed for all of them. "Oops. Haha. Too far."
no subject
"Right. I have to cook those now..." he groaned. Vegetables were something Ignis was great at, as well as throwing together whatever ingredients they had into something usable and tasty. But now he has to do that and he'd be doing well to just get a 3-item meal on a plate to be quite honest.
He looks at the photos and... well he just chuckles at the one of him in bed. "Nah... just don't share it with anybody." he smirked "Luna would have liked that one. Pryna always sleeps like she has the whole bed to herself." said dog was parallel to Noctis, taking up the width of Prompto's side with her feet in the air.
no subject
"Don't worry. That one's safe with me." He flips forward to the more wilderness-y photos, nodding. "Would the dogs be offended if we, I don't know, got them their own beds on the floor or something, though? Cuddling is nice and all, but it's not like we have a nice big captain's bed, and a second bed isn't going to fit in that room." He'd run through the calculations a million times. He could maybe rig bunk beds.
no subject
"Yeah, how weird does that sound? I have charge of the kitchen and there's no cup noodles. I have to use vegetables. Iggy would love it..." he sighed. "Sure, if you want. It's just me and the dogs down there now. We'd love to have you." the dogs are happy to have anybody who might pet them or feed them.
But then Noctis finds himself humbled. "Wha... sure yeah... I know I need to go back to my own room. Thanks for putting up with us. It's... it's hard but... with you I can get out of bed at all." and he knows he is pathetic. He has improved! He can feel slightly bad about being pathetic where before he couldn't care and didn't notice! So... that's good?
"You ought to have your bed to yourself. I can look at dog beds in town."
no subject
"Huh? Oh!" Prompto scrambled up so he could wave his arms properly. "That's not what I meant! I... I don't mind sharing! If you're not ready, it's fine. I said you should take as long as you need, and I meant it. And anyway... I like having you around. It's like the road trip!" All crammed together in too-small spaces. At least that way, he knew where Noctis was, and that he was still there, and safe, and hadn't disappeared like the others. "I just thought there'd be more room on the bed if the dogs moved somewhere else, is all. Um...
"U-unless you wanna go. That's okay too. Whatever you wanna do, Noct."
no subject
"Good." he needs his best friend to help him through the horror and agony of vegetables.
Noct flinched as Prompto fluttered about. He looks relieved though. He didn't want to go back to his empty room. Well, it was full of the things he got with Luna. Things he doesn't want to see or think about right now. "We got used to a tight fit didn't we? It wasn't so bad... well... no I don't want to go, I need-- I mean... I like it... together. But I agree the dogs need to have their own place. So let's look for something for them."
no subject
Prompto does what he does best and smiles. "Good. That's settled. What's say we pack up here and get to town then?"
no subject
Noct may object to what Prompto thinks about not letting him down. He could argue the train thing... was literally and figuratively letting him down. But that's for later, or never.
"Sounds good. We should eat out here too and see if they have any comics or something we can read. Or movies maybe." things one can do in bed and be lazy. "Also... maybe more bedding." he is thinking plush pillows and more blankets because while he could rough it, he was also a bit of a princess.
no subject
But right now, Prompto's jumping to his feet and getting the dogs all wound up for the trip into town. He won't say no to better blankets and pillows, if they can find them. Or any other creature comforts. As long as they get the stuff they need too. And can afford it all. (Someone needs to be responsible with Iggy gone, right?)
"Sure. Whatever you want."
