The last couple months have been an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least. Lots of ups and downs, and Riona finds herself in need of a break. A way to just get her mind off of everything. And then she remembers she's promised a number of people a movie night. The solution comes together easily from there, and she sets up a series of movie nights with her friends.

Once they arrive, there's a small area set up with some chairs, blankets and of course a viewing platform to watch the movies. There'll also be food and drink, whatever they both decide on.

Riona's been amassing a collection from different planets since she got in the fleet, and now they have quite a variety of genres to choose from:



Rom-Coms and Romances: There's quite the range, from rather sappy romances to outright cringe-worthy flicks. There are a couple gems in the collection, but most are just overly cheesy or stupid. If nothing else, they're good for a laugh and making sarcastic commentary.

Action: Explosions! Guns! Chases! Scantily clad women for no discernible reason! These run the gamut from serious thinkpieces to unabashed blockbusters with nary a cohesive plot to be found. Again, there are a few decent ones in the mix but most are just for sheer entertainment.

Horror: Spooooooky~ Good for a scare... and maybe some laughs. Gore fests or psychological thrillers abound. This is the smallest collection she has, but there are enough to pick from!

Comedy: When a laugh is needed. From trash humor filled with fart jokes to more subtle humor, there's a bit of something for every brand of humor.

Animation: People actually draw all of this! This is by far the most varied of Riona's collection. There's cutesy kid stuff, adventure flicks, and even a few heartbreakers.

Musical: Riona's favorite. Theater in its truest form, but with singing!! And not the stuffy opera kind either. Almost as varied as the animated stuff, there's quite a range, from romping comedies, romances, to tragedies.

Drama: But of course. Angst, revelations, twists and betrayals. These movies take themselves the most seriously. Some are quite decent, but others are laughable at times. Also great for making fun of if you feel inclined.

So come on over, pick a genre, and settle in for some fun times.

((OOC: This is closed to Riona and her CR. Anyone she knows and has talked to is open to this! Just pick a genre and also a movie if you have one in mind! Outside the ones in the fleet archives, any movie would probably need to be tweaked a little in terms of details (i.e names, places, etc) as it would likely have come from another world. I did. I would not say it is exactly the same; but I did inherit a lot from him.

Oh yes - centuries, like any other warrior. [Among his own people that's fairly common.] What I have learned though is that you are never truly done with training. There's always room to improve.

You're long-lived, then. [ Her eyes widen, just a touch - like her own people used to be. ] You're not wrong. There is always so much to learn, from so many people.

Yes - my people live for thousands of years. It is rare, I know.

[He's gathered as much from his experiences on Earth, and out in the wider universe. Few races live as long as Asgardians, except those living on abnormal planets like Sakaar.]

And those who cannot see that will be lacking, I think.

That is how it used to be for my people, too. They were immortal, once.

[ But it's not true anymore, and she desperately clings to the other topic. ]

[It sounds that way, though Thor can't imagine how an immortal race could become otherwise.]

You know, it's possible. If nothing else I would guess our fighting styles differ greatly.

A man my people called 'the Dread Wolf' created a barrier between two worlds, cutting them from their immortality.

[ Uncomfortably, she shifts. ]

I use a staff, mostly, with my magic, and sometimes a bow...?

[That's... not something he's ever heard of before. Cutting them off makes it sound like their immortality came from that other world entirely, instead of being inherent. Even if he'd like to know more, he can tell the topic isn't an easy one for Leilani. So Thor lets it be.]

Until recently I fought with a hammer. Now it's with my lightning, and whatever other weapons come to hand. Swords, usually. And my fists.

It was a very long time ago. None of us remember how it felt to miss it.

Oh, I'm very dangerous. [He says it lightly, but with total conviction.] Few with sense would dare oppose me.

I seem to find those few quite often though.

I'd oppose you. Not seriously, but it would be interesting. [ She tilts her head, offering a small smile. ] My lightning against yours.
