Sometime in the evening, the Space Bar plays host to a very interesting poker game; Kitty, in her infinite wisdom, having chosen that activity to keep their hands busy while they joke, catch up, and possibly scar poor Billy’s mind (Kurt).

The poker game isn’t closed to the four of them, however; anyone who wanders over will be offered a seat and the chance to be dealt into the game. So come! Pull up a chair and be dealt in, or just wander over and socialize. Distract the players. Just don’t set anything on fire that isn’t made to be.

[Vash has no idea if she's any good or not at poker. He'd say that to just about anyone.]

[She laughs at that.] Sweet, but it's like you've never met Remy. [She can hold her own! But she's no pro.]

Hm, I really don't know Remy very well yet. [Because of course he's met his own crew.] I should try to fix that some day.

So, I take it he's really good at poker?

That may be a dangerous day for all of us.

[She smirks.] Let's just say Remy is a man who knows his way around a deck of cards.

Oh? Cheater, card counter, or both? [Vash himself could count cards, but he does his best to try not to do that when playing friendly games.

Most of the time.

Sometimes.

Oh, I don't mind a little card counting. And I probably shouldn't disparage his good name when I don't actually know that he cheats. But he totally cheats. [Smiling.]

Oh, well, that's a good thing he doesn't cheat then. [Said with a smile and a wink.] You're too good a friend to give away his secret even if he did I'm sure.

Nooo, I'm a terrible friend. It's like you don't know me at all. [Giving him a teasing smile.]

Maybe I should start looking at his cards and give you a sign if his hand is any good. Seeing as you're such a good friend.

You want to fight cheating with cheating? How dastardly. [She sounds amused.]

Do you think that is madness? I don't know. I think it could work out in our favor if we cheat better than he does.

I wouldn't go as far as madness. I just didn't know you'd embrace the dark side like this so quickly.

[goldenglasses]

Hey, I don't embrace the dark side! I am the dark side! I'm surprised you haven't noticed just how evil I really am yet!

Oh, you know the reason I haven't noticed? It's because you're not even accidentally a little evil. You are the evil-less person I know and I've met tiny children and ponies.

[goldenglasses]

Hey! Kids can be scary! And they're just the right height to get you where it hurts the most!

[Because nothing says villainy and evil like comparing yourself against children.]

You're saying that you're extremely evil and I just don't see it because literally everyone else I have ever met is even more evil?

Oh, er... well, hahaha. [He shrugs his shoulders.] Ah well, something like that.

So, do you want to be partners, or shall we say Co-Captains, in crime or not?

Mmmmhmm. [She smiles at him.] I think I'll pass on the crime and just rely on my mad poker skills.

But you're very sweet to offer. [And since calling him sweet reminds her of something else they never actually addressed...] Don't worry, I promise not to kiss you this time. [Said very much as if she assumes the first time was unwanted. He didn't kiss back after all.]

[Vash breaks eye contact to look off to the side with a shy smile on his face. Scratching at his cheek with a laugh.] Oh, you remember that? I thought you might have 'blacked' that part out.

I think I remember most of that night. I clearly should have had more to drink and gone for the black out stage. [Smiling.]

Heh, I assumed you had too much to drink and thought I was someone else. [Winn specifically. Vash isn't sure if that's an insult or not towards Winn.]

I definitely had too much to drink, but have you seen you? You're kind of distinctive.

Me? Distinctive? [He unbuttons the top couple buttons on the long red neck of his coat so he can give it a proper snap!] I take it that means you love the style that I have going on? [Said in a tone of voice that perfectly matches his cocky grin.]

I don't remember saying all that. [She smiles a little.] Are you undressing for me in the middle of the bar?

I dunno, what would you do if I was? [He was mostly going for flare, but he was curious about her answer.]
