[As if waking up on a strange ship alone wasn't enough when Ulaz knew he shouldn't be there, now he was on yet another ship. This really was not funny. His attempts to try and get information through hacking had been poor at best and he was no closer to figuring what had happened.

He had learned one thing though; he did not like confetti. It was not amusing in the least.

He'd been pretty much silent so far - if being a Blade had taught him nothing else, it was how to make as little noise as possible. But now he doesn't really have a choice]

Can someone explain what is going on here? First I was on one ship and now another, neither of them where I should be. This must be a joke.

[And why does he say that? Hmm...]

[Yeah that whole tall, purple alien with yellow eyes thing is a little surprising. But then again, Doudanuki will probably surprise him, too, when he has to explain exactly what he is. The crew of the Caprine is just getting more and more eclectic by the shuffle.]

Name's Doudanuki Masakuni. I'm the captain here 'cause the other ones left. And I'm the communications officer and a war sword.

[He bumps the black sheathed Japanese katana resting over his shoulder when he mentions that last part. He's never without his real body.]

So who're you?

[If nothing else they can be known as the eclectic ship. Also Ulaz wouldn't really mind a smaller, quieter ship, at least to used to this place. Being thrown in with a large group of people whose culture he didn't understand was not something he'd appreciate even if he didn't recognize it now]

I am Ulaz.

[But there was something in what he had said that deserved a question]

Did you say you are a war sword?

[Doudanuki nods his head at the newcomer, taking note of his name. Ulaz is easy enough to remember - nice and simple.

So hopefully this explanation will be simple, too.]

Yeah, I did. This is my real body. [He nudges the sword on his shoulder.] And this is my other one.

[He thumps his chest with one fist.]

I got manifested like this.

So... because you were brought here, you are human? If you were home, you'd be a sword?

[Ulaz might be studying what he can see of the physical sword. Being a swordsman himself, he was curious what other swords looked like, especially when they weren't from areas he knew of. Furthest he'd seen was the Red Paladin's bayard, which he had attempted to attack him with]

[Doudanuki shakes his head.]

I got summoned to fight a war again back home and durin' some down time, ended up here somehow.

[Being kidnapped and tossed through time and space is disorientating, even to a guy used to traversing it on a daily basis. He's never left Earth until coming here, even if jumping through time isn't new.

He notices Ulaz's gaze though and steps back, drawing the blade out of its sheath.]

I'm a pretty good-looking sword, huh? Ain't the prettiest, but I'm sturdy and strong. [He grins and tilts the sword so he can see the slight curve of it. He's a lot straighter than most katana, but therein lay his strength.]

S'why the samurai of the old days chose me over and over again. I'm good at slicin' through armor and gettin' to the the enemy.

This is something I've never heard of, a sword turning into a sentient being.

[There really were more things than he was aware of in this universe.

He watched as he drew the sword. Now with it drawn, Ulaz leans in to look at it. He's definitely appraising it with more than just a passing glance. He made no move to touch it, respecting someone else's blade unless it was offered]

That is a good blade, one that can get through armor. Strong and sturdy are better qualities in a sword than appearance. A blade constructed solely for appearance isn't likely to last long in battle.

My own sword serves its purpose well. I don't know what others would think of its appearance, but it does what it is supposed to.

[Too bad he doesn't have it here... a Blade without his blade]

[He feels a swell of pride in both being appraised and being commended for his strength. That's what swords are for, after all. What good are they if they're just made to sit on shelves? Every sword wants to be used, and Doudanuki especially feels a keen need for the rage of war.

It's good to be seen through appraising eyes that seem to know what to look for, too. It's been awhile since that happened.]

A swordsman, huh? Appearances don't matter - it's all about how well we cut. What kinda blade you got?

My blade is made from a material called luxite. It's rare with only few weapons being made out of it. When inactive, the blade presents only as a dagger, but when activated by one of Galra blood, it presents itself as a curved sword.

[In the air, he draws the size and shape of his blade with one hand. That was the easiest way to explain]

It is primarily ceremonial, but they are still used for fighting by myself and the Blade of Marmora. Every member of the organization has one.

[Meh, didn't matter if he mentioned the Blade of Marmora here. Not like anyone could do anything other than think it was an interesting story. Besides, what was Kolivan going to do, really?]

[Interesting - a blade that could change shape when activated? That's not something he's ever heard of before, but he could see the application of it in battle. Easy to carry around and inconspicuous, then terrifying when it changed shape. It was a good tactic and Doudanuki nodded his head along with the explanation.]

Blade of the Marmora? What kinda organization is that? A fightin' force, I guess?

In my world, our ruler became a tyrant. The Blade of Marmora attempted to try and create stability with in the empire. However tyrants don't seek stability.

The Blade of Marmora is attempting bring down Zarkon's ranks and weaken his hold on the universe.

[Well, that sounds shitty. Rulers rarely turned out to be the benevolent good sort, he's found. At least, in the eras he was around for. The emperors were usually pretty innocuous, but they weren't the ones really in power.]

Zarkon, huh?

[Something about that name is familiar... Did he hear it on the network once? Maybe? Who knows.]

So how many of you are there tryin' to fight against him?

[If he only knew that Ulaz had a connection to five inhabitants who had been here for a while. Then the comment about Zarkon might have made more sense without too much work]

There was a large group of fighting. We are spread out now. It is also to our advantage to not keep exact records of our membership in case we should be discovered.
