Maggie | OTA
[Maggie might be happily going overboard with snacks, deciding to make use of one of the small campsites on the planet - anyone wandering in the kitchen might see her making snacks with whatever synthetic or real food she can find. Otherwise she's tidying up the Med Lab to give herself a much needed break for a day. Imagine that - Maggie taking a break. She hadn't realized she'd become so engrossed in working in the lab and busying herself with life aboard the ship until they'd finally touched down on a fresh planet.]
Bonfire!!
[Having made a small assortment of snacks - food that she was amazed she remembered how to make - Maggie begins setting a small fire together, seated at a picnic table while she watches the embers catch and the fire build. Anyone looking to stretch their legs on Duotera would find Maggie relaxing and working intently at her bonfire.]
Goldstone
He peers at the assorted snacks, picking one up to chew. ]
So. Are you planning some kind of party, or are all these for yourself? If it's the latter, there are better ways to deal with your problems, you know.

[The last bonfire she'd been to, she and her family had all been cooped up in the prison. She and Beth had sung songs while everyone sat around the fire.]
no subject
[He considers this.]
So long as it's not the SNOW planet, I suppose I could make an appearance.
no subject
[She lived in the South, not that something like that would mean anything to Crowley. Warm was absolutely her preferred climate.]
You're welcome to taste test - just don't eat everything up.
no subject
[He'd at least understand it a little, he's BEEN to America, even if he doesn't LIVE there. Still, he'll reach out to take a cracker of something, popping it into his mouth with a thoughtful hum. ]
Not bad at all. Perfectly serviceable snackables.

[Why are there so many magical people in the fleet? She has no idea. It's still weird to her, but probably no more weird than living in a zombie apocalypse.]
You're welcome to tag along if you want. You know - socialize or whatever. I have no idea who's going to show to this thing I kind of just did it on a whim.
no subject
[He gives a shrug of his shoulders. ]
I suppose it wouldn't kill me to show my face for a bit.
no subject
[She's just a simple girl from a zombie infested world. Absolutely nothing complex about that.]
Just don't push yourself too hard. Being social can be stressful work.
[She is absolutely teasing him now.]

Andaran atish’an.

Oh. Uh... hi. Nice to meet you?
[She really would try to repeat what she's said but somehow she knows she'll butcher it.]
no subject
It's nice to meet you, too. [ Shifting, she stands up properly. ] You're Carl's friend?
no subject
[Maggie is still curious about that other language but she's learned by now not to question things like that when they all come from such diverse places.]

no subject
Hopefully he said all nice things? [Maggie smiles, not really concerned. ]
Carl and I are family. We come from the same place. You got anyone like that here?
no subject
Only nice things. You have my word.
[ Nodding her head, Leilani crosses her arms over her chest. ]
I do. A friend from home and - there's a man with the same clan as me. We're the same person, technically.
no subject
[Even with new shared experiences. She's glad to be back here for Carl. She's glad to be where she's needed.]
The same... person? How's that work?

Bonfire!!
He pokes at the embers with a long stick, glancing at her with a quick smile. ]
We should've done this sooner.
Bonfire!!
[Truthfully, she still somewhat buried herself in work. She had been grieving, but now she wanted to live. She wanted Carl and her both to enjoy things, even when they knew the possibility for something worse to come along was always there. They had each other to see it through.]
And then when I got here we were drifting anyway. So I guess now's a good time.
Bonfire!!
[ So it's been a trip all around, Maggie. He's glad they're doing it now. He perks up, just remembering something and nodding to his bag sitting by the leg of the picnic table. ]
I forgot, I brought something for this. I know it's not quite the same as a s'more, but it'll be close? [ He definitely brought a jar of marshmallow snow from the last planet. ]
no subject
[She shakes her head, smiling a bit when he presents the jar.]
What are those? Marshmallows?
[They look it, a least. She scoops up a nearby branch, bending it until it snapped in half and handing him a piece.]
Let's see how they measure up.
[They could taste like utter garbage for all she knows.]
no subject
[ Unscrewing the lid, he scoops a bit out with his fingers and skewers it with the stick. Or... as best as he can, anyway. Hopefully it doesn't melt right off. ]
The locals said that it tasted different depending on where it came from, but I didn't notice anything different.
no subject
[Maggie takes some of the marshmallow stuff and puts it on her own stick. She was a bit skeptical it would actually stay on the stick.]
Let's try it. I doubt it'd be bad at all.
[She gestures to the bonfire, ready to lower her stick over the flames when he was.]
You first.
no subject
[ He puts his stick over the flame, and for a moment, it looks like it may work. The flames lick the sides of the marshmallow blob, but then disaster strikes and it slides off from around the stick and lands with a sad plop at the bottom of the fire. ]
So much for that idea.
no subject
So much for that idea is right. Where's Daryl with some a fresh animal when we need him?
[Still, the companionship is nice even if the marshmallows are useless.]
