[ It's just about Han's luck that he, uh. Oversleeps.

That is to say, he wakes up on the Marsiva and has barely enough time to get his bearings-- to find his blaster missing and sidle over to the wide windows in the viewing bay to stare out at the unfamiliar stars-- before--

Okay, he actually has no idea before what. What happens. One minute he is quietly, definitely not panicking about the fact that he has no idea where he is, and then he's somewhere else with less idea of where he is, and confetti.

It takes him a few minutes more to catch up and (sort of) figure out the communicator, and by the time he actually tries to reach out, he looks visibly harried. ]

Okay, look, I really don't have time for whatever this is... And where is my ship?!

[ Because that is definitely the most. important. question. of all! ]

The situation is dire when it falls to a Russian to be the optimistic one.

Han, it's good to meet you. [Doesn't really matter if Han feels the same.] Have you been to the planets? These is one of the kinder systems that we've visited recently. I recommend enjoying it before we begin drifting and have nothing but our ships and nothing but goo to eat.

How long does it usually take between systems? What kind of goo? What're the planets like?

[Han has much to learn.]

Two weeks to a month, typically. The goo... I have no idea what it is, but I eat it as seldom as possible. The planets are... variable seems like a kind word. Sometimes they're quiet like these, sometimes they're in the immediate path of an asteroid, sometimes they're populated by cannibals. We never know.

I mean, it might be better staying on the ships.

Are we actually going anywhere?

In my defense, the ship crashed into the planet and the options were somewhat limited.

Naturally. A phaser would be far too useful here.

The armories do have primitive projectile weapons if your ship has a security augment, however.

A corroded little shuttle armed with slugthrowers, just what I want in a dangerous situation.

It is far from ideal, but it could be worse. We could be in a city that alters our bodies and minds on a regular basis, or in an underwater dome that's actually a sophisticated simulation controlled by mysterious beings.

I can think of a dozen worse places to be but that doesn't make this a nice vacation.

It doesn't, no. These circumstances are, however, currently inescapable, and being annoyed with them has never accomplished anything.

I feel like I accomplish plenty by being annoyed.

I'm not sure I recommend it.

I don't recommend being annoyed about your current circumstances. It won't encourage the Atroma to let you leave; if anything, it will entertain them.

That's why they say they brought us here, right?

For entertainment? Allegedly, yes. We should, therefore, be as boring as possible.

Or, figure out what they want and how to use it as a bargaining tactic.

I don't think that we have anything that they would consider bargaining for. All of the power is theirs.

I don't know. I'm just saying, it's worth keeping your eyes open.
