It's Wintersend! (Or roughly around the equivalent of when it would be back in Thedas. [Actually it's a bit late but whatever CLOSE ENOUGH]) Time to party! Riona found a small party hall to rent on Duotera, in an area that's a bit more reminiscent of early spring.

There are decorations everywhere. Don't worry guys, this isn't meant to be formal. This is just what happens when Riona gets to decorate unsupervised.

There are, of course, plenty of food and drinks. The food is mostly finger snacks, but there are also sandwiches and the like. As for the drinks: yes, they are mostly alcoholic, she knows how you folks roll.

As Wintersend is theater season, Riona compromises for the lack of actual theater with a rigged projector playing movies on the far wall. With a variety of genres running, there'll hopefully be something for everyone, and serves as a place for the more introverted to get away from the party for a bit.

And because it's Wintersend, that means presents. There's a separate table off to the side away from the food where people can place their presents for each other.

The goal is to have something for everyone, and to encourage everyone to have fun. Eat, drink, be merry and all that jazz!

"The flavor is excellent - well - what I can make of the flavor. Drinking it with so much water does tend to weaken the hints of vanilla. Or whatever they have here that tastes like vanilla." He waves his hand around, "This is quite a feast, Riona."

"Good. I tried getting a variety, but it's always tricky to tell." She does look quite pleased with herself. "Why thank you. Wintersend's quite a holiday back home, and it didn't seem right to not do anything for it. And given recent events, Atroma's been generous with the pay," she adds with a wry tone.

".... yes, one of the few benefits of getting so much dramatic flair, we do in fact get paid for it. Not something that I have had the opportunity to do." He looked around again, "So what is the meaning of this Wintersend, anyways?"

"Clearly you need to up your ante and cause drama of some sort. Start an illicit affair or something." She grins, clearly teasing. "Wintersend is, well, basically what it says in the name. It's celebrating the sending off of winter and the arrival of spring back home. The exact traditions vary from nation to nation, but most use it as a means to go out. A lot of traders come through the towns and sell their wares and set up new contracts. In the south, there are a lot of theater performances," She gestures to the movie projector on the far wall, the closest thing she could get to that here. "and in the Free Marches and sometimes Ferelden, tournaments."

Now, she was getting his best sardonic look from him, "Perhaps you can point out who is looking to have an illicit affair with me and I could work on that."

Dry as dry could be, but he did look interested in the rest. "Rather sounds like our winter festivals."

"Well, they might just be feeling shy and don't know how to approach you." Tyrion might not be a hunky warrior out of a harlequin romance, but he's a good, intelligent man. Someone's gonna catch on that at some point.

"Do you have tourneys as well in Westeros?" It wouldn't entirely surprise her, but she's interested in hearing how they celebrate holidays and festivals as well.

"Shy. Around me. That is ... the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of." Tyrion stated dryly, before he gestured around. "I also live on a space ship that is actually a programme for those hungry for some truly macabre events."

A nod, "Oh yes, they are quite popular. Thrown for festivals, for royal birthdays and the like. Weddings, as well."

"Ridiculous how?" she asks, cocking an eyebrow. "Mayhaps you want to look on other ships then, if yours likes the macabre. Or at least remember to spend some quality time with a lady friend off the ship." Unless she's into that stuff, she supposes.

"Weddings as well? Interesting form of entertainment for a wedding." Personally she's glad she didn't have one at hers. Then again, after just coming off from the Blight and civil war, few were in the mood to see fighting and jousting.

"I meant the Atroma, my friend. My crew tends to want to keep things civil, and well-armed for any occasion." In other words, they are the paranoid crew. "And again, I ask you, what lady friend?"

He smirked faintly, "Any excuse for the knights to strut their stuff for the local lords, looking for favors and perhaps a chance at the lord's other daughters."

"Oh good, because I was a little worried about your crew for a moment there." Listen, the fleet has its share of crazies. You never know what these people are up to. "Okay, and now for me to clarify: it may be a woman you haven't spoken much with. Or maybe just someone who's seen you from afar and doesn't know how to approach you to talk to you."

She snorts. "Some things remain the same across the worlds. I know it's also used as a measuring contest amongst the banns and other lords and ladies in Ferelden. Show who has the best knights and men under their banner.

"Oh, don't worry about us. We'll do whatever we can, where-ever we can." He looks over at her, arching an eyebrow, "And who was this magical person? Who is so shy they would never say something to fair myself?"

He chuckled softly, "The same in Westeros. I liked to bet on them, in my day."

"Well now, I don't know. You'll have to have a little more faith and start looking." She winks congenially. Does such a girl exist? Who knows? But it's possible.

When she was younger she wasn't really allowed to bet, and now as queen, she's still not truly allowed. Favoritism and all, it wouldn't go over well. "Did you have much luck at it?"

"...Faith has never been a strong point of mine." He will admit that freely, even though his mouth is twitching at the sides.

He pauses, before his smile slips sideways. "Most of the time. I am good at judging outcomes, if not the people I love. For example I have never bet against my brother Jaime."

"No?" She tilts her head curiously. "What about Daenerys? You're throwing your support for her by being her advisor. That's a bit of a leap of faith."

Love causes blind spots sometimes. "Might be a little dicey if you did. I doubt he'd take it well. Has he ever let you down?" A pause. "In that regard, anyway."

"...well she has dragons. Dragons are a huge advantage." He stated with a completely straight face.

A pause, before he sighed softly, "In that regard, no. He has never let me down."

"An advantage yes, but as someone who's killed a few, let me remind you they're not invincible." Those bellies, man, they're vulnerable. And their necks. And eyeball sockets.

She smiles gently. She knows this is not an easy subject for him. "Big brothers are usually a good bet, in that regard."

".... you know, ours are not. Your dragons must be much easier to kill. We need special weapons for ours." He frowned for a moment, thoughtfully. "Big brothers usually are. On most."
