[Kitty appears on video looking a liiiiiiittle different than the way she usually looks. The augment had some fun adjusting her. She’s not a cat, but she’s certainly got a lot of catlike features which isn’t unheard of for a mutant.

The pupils of her eyes are no longer round, but a slit. Her nails have also changed, growing to a point and hooking slightly to serve more as claws. Her fangs have extended slightly. Her ears now come to more of a point and are soft and fuzzy like the rest of her body. There’s a short layer of fur everywhere now, similar in color to her usual skin tone, but with gray tabby-like striped markings appearing over certain parts of her body like her face, legs, arms, and tail. Oh, yeah, there’s a tail too. Of course there is.]

Okay. Just get all the puns and jokes out of your systems right now.

[You might spot the direwolf pup, Seeker run by with Kitty following him.] Come on, it’s still me.

[Or maybe you just run into her in the kitchen, bridge, lounge, engine room, or shuttle bay. There are only so many places to be on the ship after all and she gets cagey being all locked up during the drifting weeks when she’s at her best. Right now she’s even more restless than usual. And you know how she’ll often sit on a table or counter instead of a chair? Well, she’s still doing that, but sometimes she’s taking it even more extreme being up on the top of book shelves and various equipment.

You could also find her in her room if you’re looking for a more private moment.]

[ Iskaulit ]
[As awkward as she feels in this body, she’s not going to stop living her life because of it. That means time spent training in the gym where she very awkwardly isn’t sure what to deal with her tail. You might get to see her step on it again. It also means she’ll drop by the library to replenish her book supply and Jarvis’ for some food. A girl’s gotta eat!]

[Congrats Kitty, ya broke his brain. Kurt doesn't say anything, just stares at her with a dumbfounded look.]

[She thought there would be teasing or laughter when Kurt caught up with the message. She wasn't expecting silence and it makes her feel self conscious in a way she was trying to fight against when that's all she gets. Figeting a little she lifts a hand to wave at him.]

Hey, you. [Say something.] You were my next stop if you didn't see this. Or you still can be. I'm in my room.

[Kurt nods silently, his expression somewhere between dumbfounded and very possibly half asleep.

Then the smile begins to spread across his face, bright and full of impish glee that radiates to the rest of said face.] Well, I was considering getting a cat. Thank you for obliging me, Katzchen.

[She sighs, but there is relief in it. That's her Kurt.] Nevermind. I've decided I'm running away from home after all.

Mm, you do that. I'll just go through your things whilst you're gone and alter your clothes as I see fit.

[He yawns wide enough to pop his jaw, rubbing at his closed eyes with a hand.] Mm, did our captors see fit to provide you with clothing that can accommodate?

Weirdo.

[She shakes her head and her tail shakes with her. She's still getting the hang of that being a thing.] Of course not. Unless you count giving me claws help in accommodating.

[She frowns at that yawning though.] Sleepy?

[Kurt just chuckles at the accusation, watching the movement of her tail with a sort of fondness. Idly, he wonders how much a tell it will end up being.]

Nein, waking up. I went back to bed. [After she left. Stretching, he picks up the communicator as he stands.] Alright, I'll bring sewing things. Anything else you can think that you'll need?

[Huge tell. The worst. No poker for her right now.

She almost asks if she kept him up, but it feels like an awkward thing to say over the network.]

Just you and your infinite experience. I think you'd know better than me.

[Oh but now they have to have another poker night!

Kurt grins, one corner of his mouth inching up higher than the other.] You have no idea how happy I am that you're on tape admitting that.

I'll be by.[Click. In less than an hour he's knocking on Kitty's door, a small bag in hand and looking decidedly less sleep-befuddled.]

[Nooo!]

I'm scrubbing it from the network somehow. I have my ways. [Though Atroma network tech is a special sort of thing. She figures the system is rigged against any real intervention. And with that she signs off and waits for him, pulling the door open when he shows up.]

Puuuurfect timing. [Okay, she had to do one herself.]

[He can't help the amused snort that escapes, even as he shakes his head.] That was horrible, Katzchen.

[Because he's a gentleman ~~sometimes~~ Kurt waits for her to move out of the way before he enters her room, setting the satchel on one end of her bed. He then turns to look at her, head to toe, an analytical expression on his face.] I hope you weren't planning to wear shoes.

It's a bad pun kind of day. [She does that moving thing so he can make himself comfortable.]

Well, I... [She totally had planned to wear shoes. Her feet and hands are still the five fingered and toed sort. They seemed slightly larger with the fur and claws but not extremely so. Of course the claws were sharp and she didn't really have the hang of them. Still, she hadn't really given it any thought. She was just used to wearing shoes so of course she would. Then again she already disliked the way clothing felt over the fur. Not that she was going naked! But instead of covering up more than usual because of her new look, she was wearing a tank top and loose shorts.]

Not a good plan?

[Kurt presses his lips together, his eyes narrowing as he peers at her feet.] Can't say. Your feet are close to human, but those claws. Victor--[ A muscle in his cheek twitches; much like Piotr, he tries not to mention Sabertooth around Kitty.]--Had a devil of a time with going through shoes because of his.

[He shrugs, his tail moving behind him as though to wave away the topic.] One thing at a time. You need pants before we talk about shoes. Do you have any in mind you want altered?

[She notices the reaction he has at Victor's name. She used to think it had to do with Kurt's feelings about the man he was raised around, but over time she's come to understand he does it for her. Maybe because "Piotr" doesn't come up as much as the others either when there's every reason for him to come up even more.] I can probably sacrifice one pair. Hopefully this won't last long.

[She gives his arm a pat as if to thank him for his thoughtfulness, fearful of squeezing and sinking claws in by mistake. Of course just the contact is strange. She's used to the texture of Kurt's skin, but touching anything is odd and touching other fur is...interesting. It doesn't last long before she brushes by to her dresser, pulling out a pair of capris.] Start with these? If I need another I might just wear one of their provided jumpsuits and cut it up.

[Despite Kitty making it clear to him that his paternal figure doesn't change her opinion of him, the worry remains that too many reminders might alter her stance on that. Besides, Victor's gone, died exactly the way he wanted, and he never was a sentimental man in life. Bury the dead and move on, and Kurt tries to honor him exactly that way. Kurt nods, trying to push the memories from his thoughts.] Mm, sounds good. Pick a pair you don't care much for.

[Kurt blinks, raising an eyebrow slightly when she lingers over patting his arm. The moment ends, and a knowing little smile curls his lips. He turns to his bag, pulling out a pair of scissors (he really needs to get a proper seam-cutter; maybe the next planet), some thread, and continues rummaging around for the case with his needles. Without looking, he holds out his tail for the mentioned pants.] Do yourself a favor if you cut up a jumpsuit; don't make it a skirt. It'll create more problems than it solves.

[You noticed nothing, Darkholme! Okay, yes, there are a lot of strange things to explore in this body. It's both her own and not and while she's pretty sure she didn't get any new powers out of it, she does experience things differently.]

Have you worn a lot of jumpsuit skirts, Kurt? [Kind of amused by the thought which is nice because sewing is definitely something Winn would have had covered if he was here even if tail slots are a uniquely Kurt sort of expertise.]

[He notices everything. Everything. Honestly, he'd be concerned her head had been altered as well if she didn't have a little bit of growing pains. Things feel very different through his fur than they do through, say, his tail which has little to none.

He chuckles, finally finding his needles and settling down on the edge of her bed. The first thing he does is get to work on the seam in the back, using the knife to carefully cut the threads holding it together.] You do remember the one costume I wore, ja? Not the pirate one. ~~[The one that he stole from Excalibur.]~~

[This is what she gets for being with the spy of the group.]

Oh, yeah, I guess you did, didn't you? [She should know better than to think Kurt comes with any degree of bodily shame. Not that he should have any, but she wouldn't know what that's like. Even if she did stand in front of a mirror with him once. She is better about it now than in her youth. Well, maybe not now exactly. It's strange to see such a different variation on yourself staring back.

She carefully climbs onto the bed next to him, trying not to disturb what he's doing, but sitting close. She shifts a bit though because her tail is currently coming out from the top of her shorts awkwardly and uncomfortably, but not for long.]

You do have nice legs.

[It all comes down to raising; Raven Darkholme fully embraced her appearance (amusingly enough, given her mutant power) and taught her son to do the same. He does sometimes wonder if he'd love his body as much if it weren't capable of astounding physical feats, but there's a lot of danger in even innocuous 'what if' for him.

So instead he huffs a laugh at her rhetorical question, his lower lip catching on a fang as he carefully maneuvers a difficult thread.] Danke. I've always been, mm, not particularly proud, but pleased with them? I've had nice legs since I lost the baby fat from them. [Before that he had chubby adorable legs. Pity none of his baby photos have shown up in the fleet.

The muscles around his eyes twitch as he glances at Kitty, watching her settle in with a critical eye. The spade of his tail comes to press lightly against her back.] Lean forward a little. It'll take the pressure off the base of your tail.

[She does as he suggests since he is the expert here and it does help.] Thanks.

I bet you were an adorable little kid. [She remembers him saying the mutation presented from birth at least the fur and tail and way his hands and feet are shaped. She's pretty sure the teleporting came later. It must have been very different to be raised your whole life as a mutant by a mutant. She'd never had any idea she wasn't a human girl until she slipped through the floor and even then it was hard to wrap her mind around it and admit what it all meant. Especially with the way things were by then. It hadn't all gone to hell just yet, but it wasn't long. In her mind the two things are almost linked. She became a mutant and the world fell apart. Still, she was past her days of seeing herself as a monster and freak. It was short lived on the scale with everything else.]

Probably impossible to deal with. So, you know, not much has changed there. [Smiling at him.]
