[Kitty appears on video looking a liiiiiiittle different than the way she usually looks. The augment had some fun adjusting her. She’s not a cat, but she’s certainly got a lot of catlike features which isn’t unheard of for a mutant.

The pupils of her eyes are no longer round, but a slit. Her nails have also changed, growing to a point and hooking slightly to serve more as claws. Her fangs have extended slightly. Her ears now come to more of a point and are soft and fuzzy like the rest of her body. There’s a short layer of fur everywhere now, similar in color to her usual skin tone, but with gray tabby-like striped markings appearing over certain parts of her body like her face, legs, arms, and tail. Oh, yeah, there’s a tail too. Of course there is.]

Okay. Just get all the puns and jokes out of your systems right now.

[You might spot the direwolf pup, Seeker run by with Kitty following him.] Come on, it’s still me.

[Or maybe you just run into her in the kitchen, bridge, lounge, engine room, or shuttle bay. There are only so many places to be on the ship after all and she gets cagey being all locked up during the drifting weeks when she’s at her best. Right now she’s even more restless than usual. And you know how she’ll often sit on a table or counter instead of a chair? Well, she’s still doing that, but sometimes she’s taking it even more extreme being up on the top of book shelves and various equipment.

You could also find her in her room if you’re looking for a more private moment.]

[ Iskaulit ]
[As awkward as she feels in this body, she’s not going to stop living her life because of it. That means time spent training in the gym where she very awkwardly isn’t sure what to deal with her tail. You might get to see her step on it again. It also means she’ll drop by the library to replenish her book supply and Jarvis’ for some food. A girl’s gotta eat!]

Like yeast. [She darts a hand out in hopes of messing with his hair.]

[He could stop her from messing with his hair, until she phases, so he doesn't even try to stop her.] Wheat a second! There's no reason to mess with my hair!

[She's surprised at the lack of resistance so she plays gently which is probably worse in the way that it could be more awkward for two people doing and feeling awkward things sometimes.]

Wheat felt like the right pun there? [Slowly withdrawing her hand.]

Yeah, that pun was a bit half-baked. [The way she plays with his hair isn't exactly what he had expected. Suddenly he wished he had stopped her. Should he now? It might be even more awkward if he stopped it now. That and he can't admit that he likes it.]

I oat to have tried a bit harder on that one.

You're the worst. [But she looks amused.] Rye do I put up with this? I should bran you from the ship.

But I'm on a roll here! If you bran me from the ship then I may be forced to switch to cat puns. And trust me, you donut want that.

Well, I want bun of that, so I guess you can stay.

[Vash pumps his fist in victory.] Yes!

But you could also just admit that you a-dough my puns!

Mmmm...nope. Can't make me.

But I'm so punny! How can you resist?

It's my secondary mutant power.

Sounds like a pretty useful power to me.

[But a bit more serious now.] And you're alright? Not going to let this place get you down?

[passingthrough]

Oh, Vash. I've been down for months. What's a little fur? [It's funny because it's true? Or is that what makes it sad?]

[goldenglasses]

Yeah. I guess that puts it into some pu--[He has to forcefully stop himself from making a pun.]- perspective.

I wish there was something I could do to help a bit more with that. [But he knew too painfully well that there is no cure for a broken heart.]

[She smiles when she hears him redirect his words for her. Not that she really would have minded. She and Winn met over silly word play.]

You do. You all do. I wish I was better at snapping out of it. [So she could be a better captain and friend and everything else. She's trying to keep it all moving along, but sometimes that's all it is—moving it along, going through the motions. But sometimes she is more engaged. It's getting better. It's also getting more complicated and confusing in some ways as she starts to consider moving on.]

You don't need to be. At least you don't need to be for anyone other than yourself.

You're sweet, Vash. Terrible at puns, but sweet.

You have got to be kitten me! Tail me it isn't so! Don't deny your flea-lings over how purr-fect my puns are! Beclaws they are hilarious.

Meow, I think you owe me an a-paw-ology.

What have I done? This cat is out of here. [Backing away, tail swishing back and forth behind her.]

[Vash bites his tongue as he watches her leave. Just in case he shouldn't say something he shouldn't.]

I like your tail.

[Like that. He also likes watching her walk away even if he hates it when she leaves.]

[Calling over her shoulder.] Taking back the sweet comment. [But he gets an extra flick of her tail as she disappears.]

[goldenglasses]

I probably deserve that. [He chuckles out loud to himself once he thinks she's out of earshot. Although with her new ears she might still pick it up as he turns to go back to his room for a bit.
