[Kitty appears on video looking a liiiiiiittle different than the way she usually looks. The augment had some fun adjusting her. She’s not a cat, but she’s certainly got a lot of catlike features which isn’t unheard of for a mutant.

The pupils of her eyes are no longer round, but a slit. Her nails have also changed, growing to a point and hooking slightly to serve more as claws. Her fangs have extended slightly. Her ears now come to more of a point and are soft and fuzzy like the rest of her body. There’s a short layer of fur everywhere now, similar in color to her usual skin tone, but with gray tabby-like striped markings appearing over certain parts of her body like her face, legs, arms, and tail. Oh, yeah, there’s a tail too. Of course there is.]

[You might spot the direwolf pup, Seeker run by with Kitty following him.] Come on, it’s still me.

[Or maybe you just run into her in the kitchen, bridge, lounge, engine room, or shuttle bay. There are only so many places to be on the ship after all and she gets cagey being all locked up during the drifting weeks when she’s at her best. Right now she’s even more restless than usual. And you know how she’ll often sit on a table or counter instead of a chair? Well, she’s still doing that, but sometimes she’s taking it even more extreme being up on the top of book shelves and various equipment.

[As awkward as she feels in this body, she’s not going to stop living her life because of it. That means time spent training in the gym where she very awkwardly isn’t sure what to deal with her tail. You might get to see her step on it again. It also means she’ll drop by the library to replenish her book supply and Jarvis’ for some food. A girl’s gotta eat!]

Ah, so, [Because all joking aside, Remy was actually curious.] Woke up that way? I mean, I like, ah, cats as much as the next person, [Yep, nope, give him a moment again, he needed to stop himself from making a joke again. Ok, better.] But gotta say, think this might be a touch too much.

Hopefully I'm not like this by the time we get wherever we're going. [Like minds.]

It's a lot too much and yeah, I woke up this way. I wonder if it was a sudden thing or if it just started growing like I'm some kind of chia pet while I slept. [Looking at her arms with a sigh.]

[Ok, that finally broke him, but it was more of a brief huff of a laugh out, before Remy was able to press his lips together again. Give himself a moment to compose himself.

Until he realized he was picturing that mental image of the whole chia pet thing in his head. Then that started him laughing again. He held a hand up to Kitty, almost as an apology and to show he needed to get this out and to give him a minute. Eventually he did manage to let it trail off, ending in a sigh before he cleared his throat to speak.] Sorry. [Chia pet... no, that didn't get a laugh this time, but it did a wide smile, almost as if it was slowly losing its power to make him laugh.]

Ah, [Another clearing of this throat.] 'nything can do to help? I would offer ya a shaver to borrow, but not sure it will survive that well.

[Just shaking her furry head at you, friend.]

All done? Did you hurt yourself? Should I get a medic?

[She shakes her head.] I don't think I want to know what happens if I shave it. [She wonders for a moment if Kurt ever tried, but it always seemed like he was so comfortable in his skin it's hard to imagine. But she also didn't meet him until he'd worn that skin for quite awhile.]

Sorry, petite, sorry. [He really didn't mean to laugh, Dieu knows he wouldn't find it funny if something like this happened to him. His vanity wouldn't find it funny.]

Ah, guessin' ain't much can offer to help then, [Ok, one last joke, because he can't help himself.] Other than to offer one of m' cat's brushes?

[Eyebrow raised.] I can still phase you through the hull, Cajun. Just keep that in mind as often as you need to.

[Remy let out a warm chuckle at that, moving to finish cleaning up what he was doing as he spoke.] Luckily I am pretty sure ya too much of the wonderful type that wouldn't actually try and cause harm, 'less it really deserved, 'nd pretty sure bad jokes don't deserve that.

'nd if it does, at least I will come back in a week or so.

[Wait...] But don't use that as an excuse to do it, hein?

Finding my weakness and pointing it out to me isn't going to endear you. Always pretend to be afraid. [As if she likes it when people are afraid of her. Spoiler: She doesn't.]

Bein' a good person is never a weakness, petite, even if it feels like it at times. [Ah, so easy to give advice, much harder to accept it for himself.]

'nd just hope ya remember that if I do keep makin' jokes now and then. [Because the longer this went on, the more he was going to think up, and Remy could only hold back so many of them.]

I see. You have a vested self interest in making sure I stay a good person. You're very lucky you caught me years after being taken from home and not minutes. [But he'd still have the face of a friend then, wouldn't he? And that did quickly endear her to him.]

Ya sayin' I ain't charmin' 'nough to win ya over? [And it was teamed up with one of those same charming smiles of his, so well practiced.] That hurts, it really does.

But considerin' everything, I think I can forgive ya for it. Bein' ya day be startin' much worse than m' own.

Not enough charm in all the world for who I was back then, friend. [She smiles back at him, but it's true for the most part. She was all business or at least 98%. Also married. The happily went in and out until the final blow.]

It's definitely a special kind of day that starts...furry. And not because Seeker jumped on me while I was sleeping.

'less ya Kurt, or Rogue after absorbin' him, oui. [Then a friendly smile back, it laced with a sympathetic look.] Will be keepin' m' fingers crossed it be gone when ya wake up tomorrow, petite.

If not, then we 'nvest in some of those little sticky rollers ya use for lint, can clean ya bed 'nd clothin' with them. [Ok, last joke. For now.]

Ugh...there's already so much fur in my room I might not even notice. [Sounding almost resigned to it all.]
