[Kitty appears on video looking a liiiiiiittle different than the way she usually looks. The augment had some fun adjusting her. She’s not a cat, but she’s certainly got a lot of catlike features which isn’t unheard of for a mutant.

The pupils of her eyes are no longer round, but a slit. Her nails have also changed, growing to a point and hooking slightly to serve more as claws. Her fangs have extended slightly. Her ears now come to more of a point and are soft and fuzzy like the rest of her body. There’s a short layer of fur everywhere now, similar in color to her usual skin tone, but with gray tabby-like striped markings appearing over certain parts of her body like her face, legs, arms, and tail. Oh, yeah, there’s a tail too. Of course there is.]

Okay. Just get all the puns and jokes out of your systems right now.

[You might spot the direwolf pup, Seeker run by with Kitty following him.] Come on, it’s still me.

[Or maybe you just run into her in the kitchen, bridge, lounge, engine room, or shuttle bay. There are only so many places to be on the ship after all and she gets cagey being all locked up during the drifting weeks when she’s at her best. Right now she’s even more restless than usual. And you know how she’ll often sit on a table or counter instead of a chair? Well, she’s still doing that, but sometimes she’s taking it even more extreme being up on the top of book shelves and various equipment.

You could also find her in her room if you’re looking for a more private moment.]

[ Iskaulit ]
[As awkward as she feels in this body, she’s not going to stop living her life because of it. That means time spent training in the gym where she very awkwardly isn’t sure what to deal with her tail. You might get to see her step on it again. It also means she’ll drop by the library to replenish her book supply and Jarvis’ for some food. A girl’s gotta eat!]

That is a terrible compliment. [Smiling at him as she tries to make herself comfortable which is less comfortable with the tail.]

Only if I was a Russian cat. Clearly American from the top of my uncomfortably soft ear to the tip of my inexplicable tail.

Ah, sorry, you are in the right. Is the actual cat American? I want to be sure to speak to her in a language that she understands.

Pavel, [She whispers as she leans forward.] there isn't an actual cat here.

I meant the cat that you drunkenly promised me, not you. I would like to be prepared.

[passingthrough]

[She laughs.] You know, I'm not even sure if it's a cat from Laura's home that she got by holding hands in front of a tree or found in a vending machine or something or some alien cat breed. [Those were two ways she knew of to get things from home, okay? She didn't make them weird! Take it up with the Atroma!]

[candothat]

You're being silly. No one has ever gotten a cat from a tree. [That feeling when vending machine and alien cat sound extremely plausible?]

I am the most serious person who has ever serioused or personed. [So there.] I got my parent's photo from the tree.

[candothat]

I'm a little doubtful about that. [Everyone knows that he is the most serious and person!] I didn't know that you have a picture of them here. That was uncharacteristically kind of the Atroma.

[She pops open one of her lockets—yes, she always wears two—she can't help that Winn had the same idea twice. It was a solid idea. One has pictures of Winn and Kurt. This one has a picture of her family. She holds it close so it can be more easily seen on the feed.] There's a larger, framed version that I got. This is a copy.

And I wouldn't be so quick to call it kindness.

Less unkind than they sometimes are, then. [A smile.] It's good that you can keep them close to your heart.

Sometimes what we have on us gets through when we get taken, so... [Little shrug. She's careful never to have them off long.]

Not that you plan on being taken soon, hm?

[Kitty might not know this, but she isn't allowed to leave yet. He doesn't have anything of her to keep.]

The point is you never plan it. But if you're asking if I want to go the answer's no. [Unless it's to go to where Winn is, but she doesn't need to say that part, right?]

[He'd been shooting for a joke since of course none of them have any say in when they leave at the moment, but it sure didn't land.] I didn't mean to ask that, no. I thought that I knew the answer already.

[And it was not the one she gave! Even though Pavel generally tries not to think about how she'd leave in a hot minute if she had even the smallest possibility of getting to Winn, it's the reality of the situation.]

[But "thought" makes it sound like he was expecting yes.] Yes is only if I get to determine where I go next.

Of course, right. Probably none of us would want to leave if we weren't able to choose where we leave to.

Probably not. I haven't met too many people who seem to hate the fleet enough that anywhere else would be better.
