Well, it was a good distraction up until now, wasn't it? [It's an attempt at a joke.]

It almost makes me want to get stuck places more often. [Along with him, of course, but that part should be obvious.
She's about to say something else, but there's a sudden, slight jerk of their seat as the ferris wheel finally starts up again! Around they go once more. Kaname looks at him with a hopeful smile.]
Almost there.
[Until they round the bottom and their seat passes the place to board the ride that is. Instead it stops a couple cars ahead, leaving them about eight or nine feet above the ground. The safety bar in front of them clicks and releases. Time to get down...?]
Um... [She looks at him with a little uncertainty now. Should they jump??]
no subject
His smile falters as the ride jolts back into motion, thank the gods. He smiles back at her, and eagerly waits for it to pull to a stop.
He frowns when they stop where they shouldn't.] I've decided I don't like ferris wheels.
[Carefully leaning over, he takes a peek at how far down the ground is.] It's not too bad. The tree you fell from was higher.
no subject
[It's not that she's scared, she's done way worse, but there's certainly nervousness in her voice.]
But I don't think we have much of a choice, do we?
no subject
[Landing on concrete is a lot harder than falling in snow.]
I could try lowering you down, but it's still going to be a bit of a drop. Or I can jump down first and catch you.
no subject
I wouldn't be too heavy?
no subject
Steeling himself, he scoots to the edge of the seat and re-evaluates the drop. He's done worse? Not on a surface so hard, granted, but it won't kill him! He decides the best course of action is to grab the outer edge of the basket and lower himself down until he's as far down as he can get. And then let go.
His feet hit the ground, and then the rest of him, though he attempts a tuck and roll to minimize damage. He recovers by popping up and shaking his arms out. That was not fun.]
That was fun! Your turn!
no subject
Kaname leans forward to watch his descent, and she can't stop the small smile that comes from recovery. It does make her feel somewhat better. Nodding, she repeats the process of holding on from the edge.]
All right. Three, two, one!
[One one, she releases her grip on the basket, looking down at him to figure out how to land. Trust fall indeed.]
no subject
He hovers under her, figuring out how he's going to do this, ready and waiting as she lowers herself down. Once she lets go, he prays he gets it right as he sweeps her up before she reaches the ground. And a bounce for good measure (and to get his balance readjusted, because it would really really suck to drop her again).]
Ha! See? Easy!
[That was a little terrifying and let's never do it again. He hopes she can't tell how fast his heart is beating right now.]
no subject
His comments have her shaking her head.]
Easy, huh? I'll let you know if I agree or not after my pulse slows down. But still. [With his hands full of... well, her, she knows he can't move away. She leans in, closing the minimal space between them, and presses her lips to his for a few moments before pulling back.]
That was pretty impressive. Thank you.
no subject
The kiss is a surprise. A nice one! But still a surprise. Fortunately, he tightens his hold on her rather than lets go. And goes a very bright shade of red by the time she pulls back.]
U-um...y-yeah...Um, you're problem. I mean, no welcome. I mean... um....
no subject
Even though this is pretty romantic [The whole princess carry kissing thing.] weren't you going to show off a little at some of the games?
[She tilts her head curiously.] Unless you wanted to call it a day?
no subject
Oh! Um. Yeah, sorry. [He grins sheepishly and makes to set her on her feet. Not that it wasn't nice, but he's sure she's like to walk on her own again.]
Well, I do want to try the shooting game, at least, before we leave.
no subject
I don't think you need to apologize for sweeping me off my feet, it was nice. [You know, after the whole falling thing. She smiles softly.]
Of course. I'm up for a whole lot more if you'd like. Lead the way.
no subject
[Hand holding again. This is going to be a regular thing. Wow.
He smiles and starts off toward where he saw the shooting game.]
I dunno about a lot more. If they all can break down like that one, I’d rather not take my chances.
no subject
[Damn skippy it is.
Kaname follows, making sure to stay beside him.]
We at least need to get some theme park food, right?
no subject
Yeah, of course! Can't pass that up! [A lot of deep fried goodness. He was going to need a salad later.]
C'mon, let me show what I can do! [Never mind the bear fight. This was a low stress demonstration. When they reach the booth, he grabs up one of the rifles and looks it over. Super simple.] You wanna try too?
no subject
Maybe another time. Besides, isn't now the part where you show off and try to impress me by winning cheap prizes?
[Kaname leans against the booth, looking at him expectantly with raised brows, albeit completely humorous.]
If you do well, I might even let you put your arm around me.
[Again. That's not the point.]
no subject
[Which is why he takes the time to make sure the shot lands, toppling the stack of cans. He shifts his stance, readjusts, and shoots down the next three as well. The last takes two shots, but pretty good considering the quality of what he's working with.
If it weren't tethered to the booth, he'd give the rifle a little spin and flourish before setting it down. But he'll settle for grinning proudly.]
no subject
Once he sets the rifle down, she's straightened up and is politely clapping for his achievement.]
Consider me impressed. Which prize are you choosing?
no subject
Hm. I dunno... [He turns to look at what the booth has to offer, tapping his chin in thought, before lighting on the row of mid-sized prizes. A bear! A fluffy white polar bear.] This!
no subject
It's perfect! [Kaname reaches over and takes it from the display, handing it to him with a comical presentation.]
Your prize, sir. That was some fine shooting!
no subject
[He takes the bear and holds it aloft.] I dub thee Selvin the Bear, defender of snow and trees.
[And then he hands it back to her.] For you.
no subject
Thank you. I think I'll keep him in my room. [Meaning not her office.]
