Welcome to the Lone Breaker System. The planet consists of a single ghost town that replenishes its stock daily, and a desert that does not. There are quite a few points of interest, no consequences, and a mystery to be investigated!

[He's a tough bird, he's fine! But Nami rounds back to Katara, eyes wide with surprise.]

Biri was in Luceti? Seriously?

[She nods.] For a few years. He left when you did.

[She almost tells Nami about the mikan grove. At the last moment, she decides against it.] He looks... smaller?

[Huh. She rounds back to the duck, poking him in his fluffy chest.] You've been holding out on me!

[Never mind he probably couldn't remember either. It's a bit unsettling, though; like Biri is just some consolation prize that gets handed out to her wherever she ends up.]

He is. I think they decided he'd have it easier if he was a bit smaller, given he has to stay cooped up when we're off planet. So he can't fly with anyone anymore, unless they're kids.

[...that's so weird, just making something smaller or larger like that.]

But it looks like he's still able to carry your shopping okay.

[A small smile.] Has he been with you here long?

About a month. Since... [Well, since she woke up and wondered if she'd died back home. Her fingers slow on their feather ruffling, but she's thoughtful.]

Since I last got memories from home. That happens here. Does it happen in Luceti?

Um, not the way it happens here. In Luceti people would go home, and sometimes come right back and remember. The shortest time I remember was... about a week? [With Aang...

And she pauses for a moment here, remembering the time that had happened with Nami when she'd come to her house instead of going straight home...

Katara really hopes Nami never remembers Luceti. It hurts, but it's better for her this way.] There was no way of knowing for us, though, if people would come back or if they'd remember. In the fleet, people just fall asleep, right?

[That much, she got from Sokka.]

[Mun has remembered she took a two month hiatus, so just pretend she said three months, not one, whoops.]

That's right. Freaked me right out the first time. Sometimes a person isn't in bed when it happens. I watched a friend fall right off his stool and he wouldn't wake up.

[Now that's a terrible thought. Katara makes a face.] That sounds awful. It's a good thing he wasn't flying a shuttle.

[Cautious glance above them. Ugh. Why must the people who run these kinds of places suck so much.]

Yeah. But... I guess at least once I stopped panicking and found out what was going on, I knew he'd be back. When people vanish completely, that's another story--

[Oh. Except sometimes they do, because Nami did. Just lost a month of time in there somewhere...

...she thinks she's given enough horror stories for one day. That's rare, at least.]

So. {She leans in a moment to touch her forehead to Biri's, then straightens.] Let's find you some acceptable clothes you can alter to your heart's content, shall we?

[It's okay, she won't overload you today.]

[ And since apparently that was a silly thing to say, Katara wound up with a half a dozen excellent new outfits, with several doubles for ready-made sewing layers to keep warmer up on the spaceships. ]
