Waking up on the Marsiva

[Manji awakens with a start and falls out of the welcome bunk with a shout.]

RIN! I’M COMING!

[The slam on the floor is what first helps him realise that he’s not where he was before. There wasn’t nearly enough snow.] Where the hell am I? [His voice is gruff and angry. He is in no mood for games as he strides down the hall, a surly, scarred man in a black and white kimono. Missing an arm doesn’t make him any less intimidating.] Where am I? Who is responsible for this!? SHOW YOURSELF!

[Rin was freezing somewhere! He didn’t have time for being out among the stars! He needed to--- wait, did he just pass a window with nothing but stars outside?

He stops and trails back to stare dumbly at the window.] Oh… [Well, that’s different.]


”Accidental” Video - Open to All

[Sometime after Manji and Makie are reunited and have gotten past that whole: My boss wants me to kill your boss thing - oh, god please don’t hurt me Makie awkwardness, the video feed on Manji’s device is turned on-- only the video is very shaky and being filmed upside down.

And there’s a very “mansplainy” voice being broadcast out to everyone.] --and that’s how that works. At least I think it works that way. Now this thing! [The camera is given a vigorous shake.] I’ll be honest. I’m not really sure what this thing is for. I just found it. It’s very loud. Kind of annoying, really.

[A slender hand reaches into view briefly, and then the communicator is carefully set the right way up. Makie stares down at it briefly, then retreats out of sight to leave Manji staring blankly in her wake.]

Eh? What’d you do that for? [He hasn’t figured out he’s broadcasting yet, but he has figured out one thing.]

Wait. Do you know what this is? [He shakes the camera in Makie’s direction, sounding completely shocked.

Makie...just stares at him. Predictably.]

(OOC: In the video you may get Manji or Makie. If you want just one or the other please let us know! If you want them both in an action thread just let us know otherwise it will just be Manji on action.)

[She'll pass. It's too much effort and she thinks Manji might subject her to a whole bunch of questions if she starts making herself a cup of tea.]

Now, this over here is really odd. [He jabs his thumb towards the fridge before he moves over to it.] This is going to sound crazy; but just trust me. I met a witch earlier and I think she cursed this box. Look. [He opens the fridge's door and starts to let the cold out.]

It's like a trapped winter in there. So be careful around some of the people we might meet here.

And by spare your feelings, she really can't be bothered getting into this. He'll work it out eventually.]

[Manji closes the door to the fridge and continues on. His eyes scanning over some drawers he had flung open and dumped the contents out of in search of a weapon.]

Take a look at this over here. [He points to the stove where a coil was already glowing red hot. Guess who left the oven on?] I also found this thing. You can feel the heat coming off of it!

This thing here controls it. [For once he's at least right about the nob.] But I don't see why you'd ever want to turn it off.

[Heat for cooking! Very useful! Also... he didn't know it was on right away and might have nearly burnt himself when it was first turning on. Not that he'll mention that part.]

It would be a waste of heat if there were nobody nearby to make use of it. [Her tone is so noncommittal.] Perhaps it's to avoid accidents, like leaving a fire untended in the trees.

[It's also an oven. But she suspects Manji at least is thinking along the right lines for this one.]

Hm. I suppose. [Fine. He turns it off.] Not that there looks like there's much to catch fire around here. [That is how you are wrong and he is not.] But you're right. I've seen people drunkenly walk into camp fires. There's probably someone around who would wouldn't think that they shouldn't touch something giving off that much heat without a flame.

[You know... someone like him.]

[You know, she doesn't know him well enough, but she has that general suspicion.]

How long ago did you wake up here?

Awhile ago. [About two hours. Long enough to decide he didn't like this place.] I'm getting the place pretty much figured out.

[If by figured out you mean "I'm halfway right about the stove maybe".]

Yeah. So ask any questions you want. [He trusts Makie to not ask "stupid" questions. If she asks something he doesn't know? He'll just make it up.]
