Excuse me? Hello! Ah... [She was excited that she finally got her line working to the fleet, but now that she's actually addressing everyone she feels a bit nervous. But she wants to help, and that overrides any nerves that are buzzing around]

My name is Colette Brunel. I just arrived the other day, and I saw... [she pauses, worried] I saw the attack that happened. I'm sorry to ask for help at a time like this, but I'm not sure how to get off of the ship that I'm currently on. If I can leave, I'd like to come and help on the ships that were hurt.

I think-- [it feels strange to say, and doesn't quite feel real] that I understand how to fix some of those ships. I'm not sure how, but I can see some of the damage from here.

So, I hope I can help! And if there's anything that I can do in the meantime before I leave this ship, please let me know.

[mm, she nibbles a bit on her lower lip as if she's not sure if she should say more, but she'll end it there. She feels bad asking for help before she's actually helped anyone, but she has looked all over this ship and hasn't been able to find a way to leave]

It's nice to meet you, Allen. [ah, and she looks concerned as she thinks of something] You must have been on one of those ships, is it alright?

[he grimaces slightly]

Yes, I'm on the Blue Fish.

We're...alright. We took some damage, but we're better off than a lot of other ships.

Does anyone know where those attacking ships came from? They seemed to leave so suddenly... Maybe the attack a mistake on their part?

I'm not...sure if an attack by mistake makes it much better. They certainly seemed sincere in their attacks.

But no. I'm afraid I haven't heard anyone knowing anything about them.

[ooc: oh wow just caught my typo up above... lawdy. "the attack was a mistake--". Yep yep, I'm a great writer]

Yes... It did seem that way. [sad. She wants to hope that there is some diplomatic solution to be found, but she starts to check herself before she talks about things when she doesn't has a great grasp at the larger situation]

Hopefully if they ever come back, things will go differently.

[He looks down, worrying his lip a little. He doesn't understand who or what those people were...and why they just went out and attacked them. They made it so the fleet had no choice but to fight back, Allen knew this, but...he was still troubled by the idea of what happened]

...Yes. I hope so too.

Maybe all the ships can be built with extra shields! And extra ways to stay safe? Maybe if they were faster... [ahah, it still feels weird to be... thinking about mechanics, and just having ideas pop into her head. Cool! But weird]

Mm, we'll all try our best, and definitely achieve something better. [she pauses after saying that, observing Allen over the video. She wonders what life has been like here. He's obviously been here enough to know what's what, but he looks so tired in the screen

I know I probably don't know a lot, because I just got here but... I think we'll make it okay.

That's...a good idea. [If he sounds surprised, it's because he had no idea Colette knew anything about technology.] I can talk to my captain about a way to increase shielding. Though honestly, the problem with my ship is it's stuck in auto-pilot without a pilot aboard.

[There's a pause from him at her words, before he offers her a small smile]

...Thanks, Colette. I want to think that too.

Have you been here for a long time, Allen? [Oh! But then seems to be struck by a thought] Unless... If you've been here for a really long time and have talked about it a lot, then you don't have to talk about it.

[He shakes his head] Only about six months. Not that long, really. [At least...compared to other stays....]

Is it... [she doesn't know... how to ask what she wants to ask]

Do attacks and dangerous things happen regularly?

...I'm afraid I'm not sure, but this was the first time it's happened.

[the first time in six months. She breaths an audible sigh of relief. It's good to know that Lloyd and Ze- Kaneis haven't been surrounded by constant danger]

Do you think it's a sign that this is really rare? Or... that things are going to change?

[Only the danger that they are to themselves]

[he pauses, because he knows he wants to say that maybe they're rare. But ha. He can't help but believe it's the latter. His whole life has shown him that]

[But, he rather not share that cynicism. So instead he puts on a smile and shakes his head]

I don't know, I really don't know what Atroma is thinking.

But all we need to do is be prepared in case something does happen. If we all work together, then I'm sure we'll get through whatever gets thrown at us.

[ah... She sees just a hint of it, a tiny glimpse of him changing his mind at the last second. But they're talking over a small video screen, and it happened so fast... She doesn't press the issue, but follows where the conversation is leading]

Are there many people here? I thought I heard all the voices of everyone here in the first day, but I keep hearing more and more voices!

Ah...sometimes. It depends on what augment you've gotten. Some are much busier than others. [Like he's not sure he's seen anyone take up an offer for therapy yet....]

What kind of... augment do you have?

I'm a lab assistant! I act as one of the medics in the fleet.

Oh, can you use healing magic? [the image of Raine immediately comes to mind... and this guy has white hair!]

No, I can't. I use medicine and science to help people.

Ah- it did! [THANK YOU FOR THE APPRECIATION] I've studied for many years, but I still have a lot more to go.
