What the hell--

[ There's a clunk as the communication device is dropped down onto the ground - and the room is one that's filled with greenery, plants here and there with grass where the floor should be. There's another crash as someone wobbly seems to slip and hit the wall. Even though there's a voice, there's no actual person on screen.

Anyone on the Huntress who peeks in will notice that it's definitely Zaveid... But a little bit different.

Kind of rather a lot different, actually.

Bending down, there's the sound of someone who is incredibly frustrated - a man who has no idea what is going on who wants to throw the device halfway across the room again, but...

Then he pokes it. Hard. If the device wasn't a touch bit of machinery it might crack, but luckily it's a bit tougher than his finger. ]

Who the hell...

[ Eventually, Zaveid makes his way through the Huntress, storming through the ship. There's an awful, sinking feeling inside of him - since he can feel the connection he shares with Sorey he's desperately on edge, almost snarling like a wild animal as he makes his way through. ]

[ Well, that's not a great question - ]

[humene]

Oh. I'm sorry.

[Immediately, her mood drops. She remembers fighting Theodora; as painful as it was for her, she can't imagine how painful it must be for Zaveid.]

Where are you? I need to speak with you, but it would be better to do it in person.

Same place I woke up. I dunno where it is.

[ What's space, precious!? ]

What's going on, Eleanor? Everyone's acting weird - weirder than they normally are.

[humene]

[Well, that makes this considerably more difficult. Where to begin?]

I'm sure you've noticed, but we're currently in space. Several of us were taken by a group called the Atroma to serve in what's called "The Drift Fleet." That's where we are now.

[She pauses. This hurts, but knowing the truth is important. If her time with the Exorcists has taught her anything, it's that the truth is important, even when it hurts.]

You've been here longer than I have. Only, the 'you' that's been here is a different 'you'--from a millenia in the future.

From the future?

[ There's a moment where he stares at her as if she's grown a second head, but at the same time... Is it the weirdest thing that's happened to them? He scoffs, crossing his arms. ]

You really think I'm gonna believe that?

[humene]

I admit, I found it hard to believe at first, too. But we're already in space; something happening with our timeline isn't out of the question.

[This is admittedly a lot better than she expected this to go.]

Have you met Mikleo and Sorey?

[oather]

[ An, arms crossed, he looks furious. ]

Yeah. I met them.

[humene]

[That is...not a happy looking Zaveid.]

I know it might be difficult to believe this, but when I first came here, you vouched for them yourself. They're good people.

[oather]

You think I'm gonna believe that?

[ Yes, he's very unhappy. ]

I'm tethered to another human. How's that supposed to prove anything?

[humene]

But you also have your free will, do you not? Sorey isn't trying to control you.

[oather]

Yet. Doesn't mean that's not gonna change.

[humene]

I can certainly understand why you would feel that way.

[Eleanor may be stubborn, but she's aware enough of herself (now) that she's not going to try to push any further. Zaveid had every right to be distrustful of humans, and even Eizen vouching for him isn't going to change that.]

[But maybe there's one more thing she can mention. If nothing else, she wants to clear the air a bit. Sorey has done a lot for her, even if he's not aware of how much, and seeing this rift present itself worries her.]

If nothing else, I do want you to know, Sorey has done a lot of good for us. In the future, he saves Laphicet.

Sure you would.

[ It's almost as if he hasn't been sticking up for her. Zaveid is on edge and feels more than just a little bit dangerous, especially with everything that's been happening. He wants to smash some things to pieces, but he has a little more control than that.

Arms crossing tight over his chest, Zaveid squeezes his eyes shut and takes another long, deep breath. ]

That doesn't mean I've gotta trust him straight away. I'm stuck with him, and you know....
