[A beautiful looking face appears on the screen. He seems to be tapping his lips with one long nail and there are parts of his features that seem almost...birdlike. When he realizes he's correctly started this, he smiles.]

My name is Kogarasumaru. It would seem I am far away from citadel and my children though I wish to still offer my greetings this day. Or perhaps evening? Such confusing times when the sky remains dark and full of stars.

[He bows his head politely in greeting.]

I hope to get along well with all of you here. This father will work hard to aid you.

[He smiles pleasantly then ends the broadcast.]

SS Caprine

[Kogarasumaru arrives on the ship he is now assigned to and looks up as the confetti falls. Lifting a piece out of his hair, he smiles at it then looks about the area that he's in. So this is the place he is to stay while he is here? Certainly less comfortable than the citadel or even the fine Imperial settings he was once stored in.

Ah but he doesn't mind that so much. Instead, he lightly starts to walk further into the ship. So feel free to run into him there.

Otherwise he will likely go exploring the rest of the SS Caprine. It really wouldn't hurt to know this layout, after all.]

[Yeah. He isn't joking about that.]

[Color him curious.]

Oh! [she sits up properly, interest peaked] Are you a tsukumogami, then? Our former captain was one as well, but he left.

[she nods] I'm a baku, so I eat dreams. That's what I was doing when you came in.

I am. May I ask who your captain was? [You have his interest in return, Baku!]

Ah. I had wondered about your name. It seems what you are and your name are one in the same. I am pleased to meet you and hope you had enough to eat.

His name was Doudanuki. A tsukumogami for the Doudanuki sword line.

[she nods] The pleasure is mine, really. It's nice to meet someone I recognize and recognizes me back - it's fairly rare here.

That is one of my children. A shame I could not have come when he was here.

[But...timing. Still, it warms his heart to know he is on the ship that was once the responsibility of one of his children. You can even see the pride in his eyes at that.]

Is it so rare? Then I am pleased to have been assigned here where we may find comfort in simply knowing of the other.

Oh, really? He might come back one day. Sometimes that happens here.

[a shame, she missed a family reunion. Still, she's happy another sword spirit has arrived. She always got along better with spirits like that than the other creatures in her world]

As am I. There's a few other creatures here, and a human. Unless someone's snuck in while I wasn't paying attention, but - you're in good company here.

I wish him well wherever he is presently.

[At home. On a mission. Whatever he's up to. He is his father, after all.]

Mmm...I seem to be the one for security for this ship. That should take a responsibility from your shoulders, I hope.

It certainly is. I can't think of anyone else better suited for a job. [though she has to wonder if gun spirits exist - and then stops that thought, because swords are better]

[He lets out a soft laugh.]

I can endeavor to do my best for you. Though it seems I know how to use the guns, I do prefer a sword I do not have presently.

That's all right, we can find you one. I know there's a working forge here as well, if you'd rather have one made to your liking.

Truly?

[Well it won't be his sword but he supposes that would actually suffice until he can be reunited with, well, himself. At least it would feel more comfortable in his hands.]

I would be interested in exploring this. To have a sword crafted would certainly aid me in protecting those of this ship should the need arise.

I'd be happy to help you, if you'd like. I've been meaning to pick up an extra sword or two myself, just in case.

[she hums a little thoughtfully] Guns don't really suit a lot of us.

You have the gratitude of this father. I would welcome this. And having extra swords for the crew could be useful in case one is not so comfortable with a firearm.

[He would hate to have someone use a gun if they don't like to.]

Mmm, that's very true. I think there may be one or two used to them, but swords are more efficient regardless.

[she isn't biased at all, no sir]

They certainly have the advantage of not overheating or running out of ammunition.

[He might be a little biased too. Even if he fully supports his child who enjoys guns a lot.]

And they aren't incredibly loud.

[that's the big one for her]

They are not. There is an elegance to the quiet that not all can appreciate.

[Mainly because most like the sheer destruction a gun can cause. Unfortunate really.]

Mmm. It's unfortunate that swords have become a thing of the past. Though it's nice here, that there are still people who can appreciate them.

I look forward to meeting more who do. It is a shame that they have become such a lost art.

[He ponders a moment then...]

Are there those here giving lessons in their use?

[she makes a thoughtful noise]

I haven't seen any offers lately, but there have been in the past.

Perhaps this is a task that I could undertake. For all those in this fleet willing to learn.

[Regular fighting lessons could be very beneficial for all for a number of reasons. And it would certainly provide him with something to do as well.]

I think it would be worth it. [there's a tone of fondness in her voice] The people here are always eager to learn.

That is welcome knowledge. One can learn so much in the world and to be willing to take that in is a sign of growth in the spirit.

Ahh, what a wise thing to say. [there's a lilt of teasing in her voice, but the statement is no less genuine] For all that this place can be dangerous, I think you'll like it here. I've grown very fond of the humans here - and the other beings, too.

A father must be wise so that he can best guide his children. [He truly means that too. And it shows.] I am eager to know them. It is so rare I get the chance to talk to those that are not swords like myself these days.
