[The video opens on Hiro, who's looking over his shoulder at what... looks like it might have once been the Bishop. It really barely survived that battle. He looks a little exasperated, but not visibly injured--at least not what can be seen of him here.]

So, it looks like we've got our work cut out for us. [he glances back to the camera.] For everybody who doesn't know, my name is Hiro Hamada. I'm the engineer on the SS Bishop. I know there aren't enough engineers to go around for the repairs we all need, so I'm going to offer my services. I know my way around things like this. If you need help on your ship, let me know. If you can't do the repairs, but you can work to get parts, I'll take that in payment.

[he looks like he's about to sign off, but he pauses.]

Oh, right. If you're not an engineer in augment, but you can help, make sure you're pulling your weight. The faster we can get done repairing, the faster we can go back to our lives.

Heh. Fair 'nuff, kid. She's gonna need a lot more'n some work, though, by the looks of it.

We made it out more or less intact, but I can tell the hull's taken some damage, and the engine ain't running like it should, at the very least. And like I said, I can do heavy lifting, or work on getting parts for anybody who needs 'em.

[ It's kind of sweet how an attack like this gets Tay into "we protect our own" headspace, even if she doesn't know most of them.

They're all in this shitshow together, if nothing else. She can go back to being picky and prickly when they know nobody's gonna die if they try to push off. ]

Take your comm over to your engine room and let me see what you're working with. I can give you a list of parts to get your hands on right away, and we can work from there.

[ Tay's been in the pilot's seat, but she swings down and trots back to the engine room, turning her communicator around so Hiro can get a look at it. It's not in horrible shape, but it's definitely in need of repairs. ]

Yeah. I think I see the biggest problem and one or two minor fixes. I'll be able to do more if I can get over there, but for now...

[he's texting her a list of things to look for]

I'd ask around for these parts.

[ Oh. Right, this will involve words. ...Well, at least some of them look at least vaguely familiar from the engine work she's done on her car.

Yeah, she really needs to figure out how to read these easier. She doesn't realize she's making a "reading slowly sounding out the words" face for a minute, but then she nods. ]

Right, I'll see what I can do.

You need any of these parts? I can probably pick up extra if I can find 'em.

Yeah, get double of everything. I'll pay you for them.

Nah, we'll call it square for the help with our repairs.
