Kaname / OTA / Entire Drift Period
Sometimes, she'll catch someone after the fact, and offer them a smile.] Sorry, did you want to this?
Kitchen/Lounge / Same
Or not. Sometimes it's just nice to sit and relax, maybe have a chat with a crew mate (or visitor) over a drink or meal.]
Have you seen any of the movies in the media library? [That's only one topic, of course. It could be anything.]
Office/Room / Whenever
Other / Take a Guess
Other
However, an offer to train with someone with obvious skills isn't something she's about to pass up. She only has a first name, so hopefully she can find him or someone that might know him soon enough. The halls of this ship are darker and not as inviting as the ones of the Heron. She's not sure that she likes it or hates it. It's just different.
The glowing fish are interesting.
She heads down the halls to see if she can find someone, but as she's turning a corner that she thinks will lead her to the common room, she runs right into another person.]
Forgive me. I've never been here before.
no subject
That's perfectly all right. Are you looking for something? Someone maybe? I'd be more than happy to help you out.
no subject
The thought of her friend from home stops her from making some excuse and walking away. She'd come here for a reason afterall. It's hardly this woman's fault she allowed herself to be distracted by the ship's decor.]
I'm looking for Messer. He said he is usually here on this ship.
no subject
You're... looking for Messer? [.....] Are you sure?
no subject
Yes, that's the name he gave me. Tall, dark hair, stern set to his face; that is him, yes?
[HAS SHE BEEN PUNK'D?]
no subject
I'm Kaname. While this isn't his ship, he does stay over often. [It makes more sense to her that he'd give this ship than his own, but she knows not everyone would see it that way.] He's a good friend from home.
If you don't mind my asking, why are you seeking him out?
no subject
He and I met on Nariba Relia. We were both procuring weapons at the time and he offered to spar with me when we are both free.
no subject
He's not here right now, but he should be around later. Would you like something to eat in the mean time...? [She pauses.] What should I call you?
no subject
[Of course, he seems as friendly as a rock, but she's sort of used to that anyway between Lon'qu, Gerome and Laurent.]
Oh. I suppose I should have contacted him before I just showed up. I...should— [Lucina stops in the middle of what she's about to say and blinks.] No, don't put yourself out for me, and you can call me Lucina.
no subject
[Kaname chuckles a little, shaking her head in dismissal of the objections.] It's hardly putting myself out. Trust me, it's nice to have guests. I imagine Messer told you this ship and not his for a reason, but that's only a guess. [Even with as well as she knows him.]
no subject
[And she's hardly a fool.]
If he's not normally on this ship, which does he reside upon? I've yet to go searching the ships' rosters to find out who is manning which, but I suppose that is also something I should do.
[All she knows is her brother is on the Caprine, she's on the Heron, and Messer said he would be on the Bloodsport. The others, she'll have to check out now.]
Are you and he acquainted from your world then?
no subject
[Kaname gestures for Lucina to follow her to the kitchen as she starts to take out some food to feed the two.]
He's assigned to the Blameless, though he spends about half his time sleeping here. [Smiling, Kaname looks back.] We are, yes. We've known each for for a while.
no subject
It sounds as if he finds it comforting to be close to someone he knows from home, even if he isn't exactly the most expressive from what I gathered during our initial meeting. But I imagine it's comforting to you as well.
[You have so much room to talk.]
no subject
[Lucina might hear the smile in her voice as she takes out some plates.]
no subject
[She is also a little reserved, so it's okay with her. Overly friendly people that she's not longtime friends with are still hard for her to get used to.
Something in the other woman's voice reminds Lucina of the way her father and mother talk about one another.]
Are you married to him?
no subject
Wha-- No, no we're not. [It's the quickest reply she's given in a bit, and she feels almost guilty for denying it so fast. Crouching down, she starts to gather the pieces of the fallen dish.]
It's... a long story, but we're not together. I have a boyfriend here.
no subject
I didn't mean to offend you. It's just... you remind me of other couples I know.
[She looks down at her hands, embarrassed for her assumption.]
no subject
Kaname shakes her head, offering a comforting smile.]
He's important to me, I won't deny that at all. Beyond that, it's complicated, but there's nothing like that between us.
no subject
[Which isn't to have anything read into it. She just doesn't need enemies right now.]
Friendships can be complicated, especially when you're close to a member of the opposite sex.... May I ask about how you both met?"
no subject
You may, but it's more his story to tell. I'm not certain he'd want me sharing it so readily.
no subject
Ah, that makes sense. He does come off as a very private person.
no subject
[There's a soft smile along with her statement. It's not really a bad thing.]
But that's the nice thing about meeting new people, they never fail to surprise you.
no subject
[Lucina thinks to when she first allowed herself to meet her father and mother in the past and nods knowingly.]
People that you think you know rather well surprise you, like Messer and yourself. That's true. Although, I'd rather save myself the constant surprise of too many new people all at once again.
[Twice is enough, okay?]
