[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu.  I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea.  Shut up.

...okay.  It may just be a good excuse for a party.  Sue her.]

I'd be offended if it weren't kind of true. I mean, Earth didn't even know that aliens existed! Or if they did, they were super hush hush about it. Everything I've seen since then has been so...advanced and stuff. Even the technology seems like magic. But I think there's magic magic too.

Yes. The middle realm. Youngest of all. Legends say it was built on the bones and flesh of the largest giant that ever lived.

Uhhh... That's...definitely not something I heard about in geology class.

[And he paid attention mostly in it, okay. Lance takes another sip of the tasty drink.]

You're from... Wait, wait, gimme a sec, I know this! ...Asgard, yeah? What's it like there?

[ There's a brief pause before Loki goes back to work. ]

It was like living on a star. Everything shone gold. No one wanted more than what they had and chose a simple life.

[ Of course, all of those things came from a bloodthirsty conqueror and an imperialistic nation. ]

That's actually really poetic sounding and nice. Sounds like the place to be. Earth's got a lot of beauty and I'll never stop loving and missing it, but it's got...its share of problems.

[Still his favorite planet though forever, no matter where in the universe he goes.]

I wonder if the castle ship could take us to Asgard one day!

[ Loki knows why he's still here. Why he came back. But beyond that . . . importance is hard to gauge when you lack total self-esteem. ]

It is. Family is family. And if something suddenly happens, and you end up half a universe away or something... You don't want to regret not spending enough time with them.

[Soooo, he might be projecting a little... And you're talking to one of the princes of insecurity and low self-esteem, Loki, so. Lance looks thoughtful as he absentmindedly swirls his drink.]

[ Definitely projecting. Loki's familial memories are not so pleasant. But at the very least, he does understand that and gives it a curt nod. ]

I suppose I have enough regrets as it is.

So just hug the people you love, hang with them, pester them. And have fun. Always have fun.
