[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu. I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea. Shut up.

...okay. It may just be a good excuse for a party. Sue her.]

[Looking around the place she doesn't see a full compliment of people from the Twin Roses the way Vash rambled on about when he invited her, so she slides up to Remy with a little wave. He's still behind the bar, but she figures he can come out to play eventually.]

Hey you.

[She has something on her mind though.] So, when Nami mentioned this thing what did she say about bringing guests?

Hey petite, good to see ya here. [A warm smile sent her way as he worked on putting away some clean glasses, restocking everything between orders.

He paused in doing so and leaned against the bar as she spoke.] Ah, mostly we had a plus one for those workin' here I think, but ain't really that strict, plus a few more Nami wanted so to get their opinions. Mostly just didn't want it open to all while we workin' out new options, but just enough to get ideas of what works 'nd what don't.

Of course it is. I'm basically a ray of sunshine. [She smiles back at him.]

A plus one, huh? [She'll just digest that. But like he says, not that strict.] Who was yours?

Well ya certainly light up my day. [There was a dazzling smile to go along with it, playing up the line before it trailed off into a chuckle.

Remy then pointed a thumb in Kirk's direction across the room.] Was goin' to ask Chekov if Jim was busy, since he seemed keen to help out with drinks at some point, though he did say that when he was drunk so who knows how much he meant it.

Charmer. [Fond.]

This might be the wrong sentiment for a bar, but being drunk for things definitely makes them more complicated, doesn't it? [Like when she was drunk and kissed a certain guy who plus one-d her to this.]

[Remy raised an eyebrow at her comment, so tempted to dig deeper with it, but deciding to hold off on it for the moment.] That all depends if ya gotta 'nteract with them the next mornin', petite.

'nd hey, life's too short to not make questionable choices ya can run 'way from. [He added a wink to that as he picked up a glass.] Now, talkin' 'bout that, what can I get ya?

Hard to avoid in a small fleet.

[She laughs at his advice.] That was the most Remy thing you could possibly say. [So probably good it came from him.] Something...spicy.

[Her comment about him got a grin from Remy before a chuckle.] I try.

Now, I do have a 'challenge shot' if ya really wanna test ya taste buds, but if ya want something that won't try 'nd burn ya tongue out, I think I can mix up something that will be half way towards it. Maybe a heavily spiced Bloody Mary, or something like a chili chocolate mix?

Mmm, you had me at chocolate. Even if it was almost the last thing you said. Let's try that.

Ya sayin' I should start all sentences with 'chocolate' for ya then? [His smile still strong as he went about pulling down bottles and grabbing a glass to mix everything in.]

[She leans back while he works.] I am. I mean, not that life is so hectic I really have to wind down from it, but I'm glad I got an invite. [Glancing over to Vash. Curious about his intent behind inviting her.]

Are you having a good time despite working?

[Oh, don't challenge him like that, Kitty, he will go out of his way to try and do so.] Good to hear, 'nd hey, can still relax even when nothin' be happenin'. Though is nice to have that greater contrast, gotta get the blood pumpin' by runnin' for ya life now 'nd then.

Ahh, for the most it all good, [Trying not to glance in Loki's direction, no need to bring up his issues with the 'god' to anyone else.] Would rather be in the kitchen workin', but this way I get to be 'round all the lovely people of the Fleet, non? [A charming smile was added to the end of that line.]

Blood pumping would be good. [She did have less violent ways of getting there, but was currently single.]

[Remy, why would you hide things? Gosh!] You know, you're always welcome to make meals on the Twin Roses. Especially if I'm the one eating them. [It's a pretty good smile.]

Ya say that like I don't already. Clearly ya need to get in faster, before Vash manages to get to it. [That man was very capable of seeking out good food when he was close to it.] Or do I need to set 'side a plate just for ya from now on, like a doggie bag, but before the meal, 'nd not so much to take away.

Okay, okay, you do, but I'm always up for more. I like the set aside idea. Throw a charged card or two at anyone who goes near it who isn't me.

The fact ya 'ncouragin' me to use explosives within a confined space... or explosives in general. Some captain ya be. [But it was paired up with a grin to show he was joking about that little jab.]

But if that's an order, who am I to contradict it?

I'm the kind of captain who grew up with the X-Men. You think explosives were rare there? [Amused.]

Valid point, but think it might be a bit harder to replace a spaceship than rebuildin' the mansion. [Wait, that wasn't a thing in her timeline, right? Considerin' the whole world was fallin' apart.] ...though suppose that easier than fightin' the end of the world.

[Surprisingly, there was a mansion, even the same mansion despite Xavier not having been involved, and it was intact last she heard.] It really puts everything in a special kind of perspective.

Don't it just. [Compared to that everything seemed pretty low key. Even the planet a few ones back wasn't quite the same. Sure, it ended that world, but they managed to get people off it so they could be relocated. Having a world and its people getting killed off, that was different.]

Ya know, worse case, could always pop 'round here when 'm cookin', or see if I get 'ny left overs by the end of the night.

Just wait by the garbage can with a hopeful look in my eyes? How desperate do you think I am?

I mean, unless it's really good. [Little smirk]

[That got a raised brow from him.] Ya 'mplyin' m' cookin' should end up in the trash? Maybe I shouldn't share it with ya after all. [He was joking... mostly, maybe a touch insulted, but nothing that would linger around for long.] So mean, ya know how fragile m' ego be.

'nd of course it really good, it's my cookin'.

[She smiles at him.] I was saying it's so good I'd almost beg for scraps. How mean do you think I am? Whatever Kurt told you was an exaggeration.

I'm sure it be, [It was said with a smile as he slide over that spiced chocolate drink he had been making up for her, moving to clean up afterwards.] 'nd I would never doubt m' dear captain. [A bit of a smirk adding to that smile.]

Go 'njoy the night, cherie, sure 'll catch up with ya once 'm done mixin'.

[She nods.] Don't forget to have some fun for yourself. See you around. [Off to mix and mingle herself. She does take a sip as she walks away though, turning back for just a second to smile at him.] Mmm! Approve.
