[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu. I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea. Shut up.

...okay. It may just be a good excuse for a party. Sue her.]

Haven't tried everything, no. Hey, if I gave you a name, try making the drink it sounds like it would be?

I do like a challenge. [A grin appearing on his face, loving the idea to think up something off the top of his head and if it would work or not.

Though talking about that.] There is one I would like to maybe put on the menus that didn't do tonight, didn't get a chance to fully figure it out yet. Am thinkin' a kinda coffee 'nd really dark chocolate mix, maybe some mint, something really deep 'nd bitter but with a dollop of extra sweet cream on top that can be mixed in, dependent on supplies of course. Thinking 'Bitter dark goth'. [That may had been influences by a certain someone...]

There's some nice dark chocolate liqueurs out there that would do well in that. [Sounds nice enough, you've got her blessing.]

See if you can make me a Cosmic Stardust.

Hmm, good point. That or could try do real fancy, make it like a row of shots to take that work good by themselves, but great together. [Lots of options.]

Cosmic Stardust, hein? Sounds like more a club drug than a drink. I think I can come up with something. [Something bright and swirly came to mind first, almost like a tequila sunrise, lots of color.] Got a particular base or favorite alcohol ya want it to start with? [No point mixing up a drink which she wouldn't like.]

[Club drug, huh. Modern culture isn't a thing with her, so she spends a moment wondering if that's a good or bad thing. But--]

Nothing really comes to mind, except maybe something not too harsh on the palate. I just like the name. Out of the mouths of drunken idiots and all. [She nods toward Vash being his apparently plastered self.]

Thinkin' something light, but with a kick 'cause, hell, it suppose to be a cocktail or something, right? [Though that was mostly rhetorical as Remy started moving around to collect items, working them together to come up with what he had in mind: something that looked like it came straight out of a star system or nebula, blue and shimmering with a layer of of something red right at the bottom, carefully put in to keep the colors separate.

There was that fun liquor he always liked to pick up on planets that had it, a glimmering mix that was as tasty as it was eye catching. He put it into a shot glass, delivering it next to the taller glass of that blue and layer of red, it holding an over all cross between something citrus and tropical with a hint of berry from that red.] Either a shot with a chaser, or a bomb to drop in 'nd mix together. [That shot delivered a hell of a kick to it, but was so smooth that it was dangerously easy to drink too much of it. Remy well knew that fact.]

Wow. [I mean goddamn. She props her chin in her hands, watching him work.]

See, you really are good at this. What's its value?

You're the boss, but sure can work out what goes 'nto it, double it or something. I just make it, not price it. [A grin as he left the two glasses on the bar for her, moving to lean against it from the other side as he wiped his hands clean with a cloth.]

'nd what can I say? Glad to know m' experiences of drinkin' is finally bein' put to some good use other than settin' up one night stands. [He's just too funny, isn't he?]

That's what I meant. I need to factor in how much it'd cost to make in order to price it. But I can work it out. [She was just lazy. Stealing one of those drinks now, twirling the glass around to admire the drink's colour.] You're not seducing my customers with your magical skills, are you?

Only to get them to buy more or give decent tips. [That brilliant, well practiced, and charming smile he knew he could do was added to that as Remy answered, before letting it slip away with a chuckle.]

Alcohol 'nd one night stands don't always work out well, dependin' who the other be. Or the mornin' after. Plus, 'm 'nsulted, boss, [Remy put on a mock hurt tone and expression.] Ya think I wouldn't be professional 'nough to not wait 'til after m' shift to try 'nd hit on people? Ya hurt me, cherie.

[Laughter.]

Hey, you can hit on them when you want, provided they're interested. It gives them a reason to hang around the bar until you're done.

Don't ya worry, Mattie Baptiste raised this boy right, I know how behave right with the femmes 'nd hommes. [A grin back at her as he moved to replace those bottles he had been using to make her drink back into their normal place.]

I thought you might. [Remy is a flirt but he's always struck her as a careful one. In a sense, anyway.]

Been kind of a fun turnout tonight.

[In this sense he was, for the most. Not so careful in other matters.

He gazed around the bar at the people who turned up.] Did get a good showin', non? Glad it worked out well, though I guess doin' drinks will typically pull some crowd at the very least.

Just hope got most people sober a bit more 'nto the night so we can find out what worked 'nd what didn't.

Not to worry. On that score, at least, I've got you covered. [She's been paying attention. One thief to another, man, she's good at picking reactions.]

Keepin' a tally? Never should had doubted ya, boss. [A grin sent her way.]

'nd worse case if find some ain't doin' as well as others, sure can remix those 'ngrediants 'nto something else. Though wonderin' if it's too much to hope for the next stop to be just as good for gettin' stock. Rather not have a repeat of some of those snow planets, hardly 'nything good to take from them.

They do know how to craft a great mead, though, and I've got a request for that on hand. [Thunder gods, man.]

What we've got will tide us over for a while. That's the bonus about the stock replacing itself the next day.

[Too bad about the melancholy nature of its reasons.]

Not that we don't do 'nough stuff out the back. Could try it out at least, see if 'ny good... or end up usin' it to disinfect stuff.

No, but know some real back water hicks from back home who's accents be so thick even I can't understand them. [And Remy's accent did tend to thicken up the longer he spent at home, but a translator was needed for these guys.] They make their own moonshine 'nd the like. Stuff strong 'nough to be industrial cleaner, will burn a hole in ya throat.

That 'nd I don't want us to have to worry 'bout an exploding still. Bad 'nough as it is, worse on a spaceship. [Yeah, that was a mental image Remy didn't need, the idea of being sucked out into space.] There be smarter ways to go 'bout it, even if no clue how the results will turn out.

Fair enough. [The idea of getting sucked out into space is a creepy one, even if thankfully it's probably not likely.] Let's find the smarter ways then. Or barring that, a good supplier.

Or try 'nd convert them to something more readily available, but guessin' that the harder of the three options.

Will add it to the 'to do' list, ya know, tomorrow, after we get through tonight 'nd all that.
