[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu.  I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea.  Shut up.

...okay.  It may just be a good excuse for a party.  Sue her.]

Anything that'll get me drunk. [Makes a lazy gesture toward his faintly glowing eyes] Takes a really high proof to get me there. Eyes're bigger than my stomach, I guess you could say.

[Keith stared closely for a second.]

Why do your eyes do that?

[He'd seen glowing eyes before, so that wasn't really strange in and of itself, but he was curious if there was a reason behind it.]

[moseyin]

[LOCKDOWN] Chemical treatments. Army thing.

[Anyway, gonna fix himself a drink too while he's at it] What'd you go into the military for?

[tempredmental]

[Keith raised an eyebrow.] Weird.

I joined because a good friend thought it would be good for me. My life was kind of on the wrong track for a while. [Read: troublemaker...] He knew I liked to fly, though, so he talked me into signing up to be a pilot, and I respected him a lot. He helped me out when no one else would. So, I trusted his judgement. [And got himself kicked out later after Shiro was considered MIA.]

[moseyin]

And what, turned out that his judgment wasn't so great after all? [Man, you're in good god damn company.]

[tempredmental]

I... well... sort of, I guess. [Keith shrugged a little.] I mean, I liked the flying. That was amazing. I hated the authority and having to follow orders. And, then, when Shiro's mission went missing, they blamed it on "pilot error"... like Shiro was some hackjob pilot that crashed the shuttle. [Bitter much? Oh, very much. And, yes... he said, "Shiro".] He wouldn't have been picked for that mission if he wasn't the top pilot in the Garrison. But, when I challenged Iverson about it, he kicked me out. ["Challenged" was one way of putting it. They'd gotten into a very heated argument that ended up with Iverson knocked out and injured and Keith getting dismissed for assaulting a senior officer.]

[moseyin]

[Shiro doesn't ring much of a bell...besides Cloud knowing he's tangentially related to all these teenagers who seem to hang around each other.] This Iverson sounds like a real prick, [Cloud notes idly, pouring himself another drink.]

[Keith rolled his eyes a little.]

Sometimes I wondered if he thought it was his job to be like that. He's like a drill sergeant. They're all kinda jerks.

[moseyin]

Might just be a drill sergeant thing. I'm pretty sure all mine were pricks too. [Passes over a club soda for Keith to alternate with.]

[tempredmental]

[That got a small snort of amusement. He took the club soda, glancing at it for a second.]

What's this for?

[moseyin]

Alternate. [motions with his hands.] Since you're not used to hard liquor.

[tempredmental]

Oh... okay.

[He wouldn't question it for now.]

I wish. [haha my life is a disaster] One of my best friends is a bartender. Some of her tips must've rubbed off on me.

Well, it's probably a good tip.

[Keith shrugged.]

[He was definitely still interested in what Loki was showing off with over there, though... so...]

I'll see you later if I need a refill.

[moseyin]

[Wait-

Wait a minute. Follows Keith's gaze over to Loki and scowls, leaning forward onto the bar.] Hang on, that guy- [Points] Look, just be careful of him. He's an asshole. He'll break into your room and screw with your stuff. Probably ruin your conspiracy board for kicks.

[tempredmental]

Huh?

[Keith glanced back at Cloud, then at Loki again, and then shrugged.]

I'll be careful.

And it's not a conspiracy board. It's an investigation map. Get it right. Geeze.

[Besides... Lance and Pidge kept messing it up anyway. Keith was used to having to put things back together on it.]

Conspiracy board, [Cloud mutters as Keith walks away, and glowers a little at the back of Loki's head for a while before turning to aggressively wash some glasses. Probably end up breaking one and being in even more debt with Nami, too.]
