[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu.  I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea.  Shut up.

...okay.  It may just be a good excuse for a party.  Sue her.]

[She smiles as he pokes at the water and then shrugs a little, dissipating it back into the air.] We've got plenty of time here to do that, that's for sure.

[Then she leans in, a little conspiratorially.] So what do you think? Should I make Zack sweat it out and pretend to go for the bartending job too?

[Since Buffy had always said that she was glad Katara had never gone into bartending...]

[Well, Katara wasn't wrong. He nodded giving her a weak, but wry smile as he nodded a little. But, as she leaned in and whispered, his eyes widened a little, and he looked over at Zack.]

Why not? If it means better drinks by way of proxy... [He shrugged.] Isn't that kind of like bidding on an auction with the only goal being to raise the price?

[ She'd never been to an auction, but she got the idea. ]

Except without it costing anyone anything.

[ Something snags her attention beyond Keith's shoulder and then she shook her head. ] But I wouldn't want Nami to think I was actually applying. I'd better get going, anyway.

[Keith raised his eyebrows in curiosity, and actually glanced over his shoulder for a moment, but he couldn't tell what it was Katara was looking at.]
