The Huntress

[To those that live on the Huntress, you either see the seraph or you don't. Hearing them, however, is something that everyone does. And Edna, well, sometimes you feel her presence too. Since she can make herself known, obnoxiously, when she wants.

However, if one looks in her bedroom, it looks untouched. As does her classroom that she's spent a while putting together once the Atroma decided to gift it to her. Looking closer, there are tiny, bare feet under the desk and the sound of some smothered sniffling. If you're quiet, you might even hear a small, scared voice call out.]

Eizen? Where are you?

[Yes, folks, Edna's been tinified. Aren't you lucky?]

The Red Fish

[After some finagling, Edna has found her way onto the Red Fish from the Huntress and she's a little distressed. While the other ship was certainly not her home, it had plenty of plant life and seraph that made it feel sort of home-like.

The Red Fish, however, has the oppressive feeling of malevolence that she's not at all okay with. But she was told her brother is here somewhere. Even if the humans here don't have any resonance to see her, maybe they'll be able to hear her and know who Eizen is.

She goes over to the nearest person and yanks on their clothes to get their attention.]

Hey, have you seen Eizen?

Iskaulit

[Mab's Sceptre is were she spends a great deal of her time. It feels like her and Eizen. There are some other seraph's artes signatures as well, but that just adds to the relaxed feeling it gives her. They aren't alone, which is great. Being alone is awful.

Besides there are funny lizards of many colors (one of them is missing a tail) and fuzzy slugs that make her feel good when she touches them. There's a stream and plants and it's nice. All that's missing is the feel of a real sun. If she ignores the windows that look out into the vast nothingness.

After some time at the mountain, she decides to explore some more. It's a lot bigger than Rayfalke, or maybe it just feels that way. There's so much to look at.

She follows her nose to what looks like a human place that has sweets and food. The sign says 'The Melting Pot' but she doesn't see a pot anywhere in sight. But things sure do smell good.]

[She laughs at that.]

So you do know that part, at least. I assume someone's already done the boring stuff, telling you where you are and all that.

Of course I do. It feels like me. The only way that can happen is if I made it.

[Not that she remembers any of that, but it's the only thing that makes sense.]

The water malak told me some things. And so did the weird shirtless wind malak.

Is there anything else I can tell you? I'm a very honest person.

[She unwraps the cake, breaking a piece off.]

I don't think so.

[But, look, there's cake. And Edna likes cake. It smells good.]

Who are you?

[hollystrike]

Well, that's something I can tell you, isn't it? [Grin.] I have a lot of names. You can call me Katie. Hungry?

[brothersboots]

[Okay, so that grin isn't so bad and she does have cake. That is enough to get Edna to come closer than the doorway.]

What sort of name is Katie? I've never heard of it before.

[hollystrike]

Oh, it's a very old name where I'm from. It means troublemaker. I'm not sure it suits me.

[She puts the piece of cake aside on a piece of its wrapper, propped on one of the park stones. You can come and get it, she's not gonna bite.]

Troublemaker?

[Edna might be young, but she's skeptical to her very earthy core. Although, giving her cake makes you likable, Katie. Very likable.

And, well, she's just going to inch slowly to the rock to take the cake before skittering away.]

It might fit you. Are you really here for just the foxes?

[hollystrike]

I'm never here for just anything. But then I like to make things up as I go. For instance, I could say that now I'm here for the foxes and to meet an earth spirit.

[She makes no move as her cake is snatched up, casually holding out another scrap to the other animals.] Do you like foxes?

[brothersboots]

You're weird.

[Not bad weird. Just weird.

But she nibbles on the cake and watches Katie with the foxes for a minute before answering the question.]

They're okay, I guess.

[hollystrike]

I try very hard to be weird. It's no fun if people can pack me in a box. What about you?

[brothersboots]

Pack you.... you don't mean that people actually try to put you in a box. That seems like a waste of time.

[She frowns at the question.]

I don't think I care what humans or other malak think of me.

[hollystrike]

Well, they've tried in the past. I used to be a lot smaller. [And furry. And fit in the palm of your hand.]

What a good philosophy. But making them annoyed is a lot of fun.

[brothersboots]

I guess that makes some sense.

[Still a waste of time.]

I wouldn't know. I've only really spent time with my brother. And he's annoying.

[hollystrike]

Why don't you annoy him right back? Brothers always deserve that sort of thing.

[brothersboots]

Because he only thinks the things I do are cute.

[Being condescended to is really obnoxious.]

I've only seen him mad when I'm in danger.

[hollystrike]

Not the kind of mad you're looking for, I'd imagine. Are you in danger very often?

[brothersboots]

Depends on what you mean, I guess.

[It's not her fault her brother is cursed.]

There's a reason he calls himself The Reaper, even if it's dumb.

[hollystrike]

The Reaper...?

I didn't think your brother was so murderous.

[brothersboots]

You've never seen him in a fight?

[She might think his nickname is dumb and that he's stupid with his whole curse, but she's seen what damage an enraged Earth Malak can do.]

[hollystrike]

[Ah. Well, in that context, it's kind of a cool nickname, but Edna would probably lineface so hard at the sentiment so she keeps that to herself.]

I wasn't sure that would qualify him as a Reaper, so to speak.

[brothersboots]

[No, it's stupid. Don't encourage his stupidity, Katie!]

Being a dumb-dumb, mostly.

[hollystrike]

[She sees your insults have improved with age.]

So Reaper should be code for idiot from now on, do you think?

[brothersboots]

What do you think it should be for? He's smart, sure, but not where it counts I've noticed.

[hollystrike]

Then it's settled. I shall be sure to call him a Reaper at every opportunity.
