[It's a ship full of dumb immortal assholes who are not only tired of sitting around, but are fundamentally sorta bad at it.

Except for Kaworu, primordial stoner. And Loki, provided there's some community theater to behold.]

I didn't think of that. [Maybe so, then. It's difficult to think of a place that Atroma can't see or reach, but Cas also knows that maintaining the illusion of omnipotence is much easier than the actual practice of it.] It would be wise. After we've all shared what we've learned, provided we don't die, will you take it there? [Thor seems to be the sturdiest, and it's his idea and all. Go for it dude.]

I will. If I talk to the rest of my team about this, it will be either there or on one of the planets below.

[He rubs at his chin, thinking.]

You said you wanted to spread the word through dreams. You may find some won't believe messages in that form.

[While Thor's got experience with prophetic dreams, others definitely don't. He had seen the doubt in Selvig's eyes when he explained his plan to reach the Norns and return to the dream Wanda had seared into his mind. These are not things mortals tend to deal with often.]

Unfortunately, yeah. But I can't think of another way to deliver exactly what we see. [It's not just about telling them with words; Cas fully intends to implant memories. He's going to need some help with that but he's found that not just for mortals, but many people, that seeing really is believing.]

[Castiel has a point there. Thor has no doubt his friends would believe him, but others he doesn't know so well would be less likely to believe things.]

It is worth doing, no matter the outcome.

Agreed. [Right about here is where someone else might clap Thor on the shoulder in a show of solidarity, but instead Cas just gives him this strange, half-affectionate look before turning away to watch their approach toward the Marsiva through the viewport.]

[Don't even stress, Castiel. Thor is well-used to awkward people. Loki shows his affection by throwing Thor off tall buildings.]

I'll do as we said - hit the ship with lightning in a specific place. If that fails I'll strike elsewhere in a wider arc.

I would still like to find Sam, so please don't destroy the entire vessel. [Just assuming ur gonna fuckin OBLITERATE this thing]

Much as I would love to, it would take more than a few lightning strikes to do that all at once.

[The Marsiva is frankly too large for Thor to take out in one hit.]

Really. [Well, so not the strength of an archangel then. Cas wouldn't be able to take out a ship like this himself in just one strike, but Gabriel could decimate it.

Good to know about where he is on the power scale.] Then I'll try to find him quickly.

[This would be a different story if he still had his hammer, and was in an atmosphere. Thor still shrugs it off.]

I won't destroy it until you get what you're after.

I appreciate it. [Nods toward Loki.] Your brother did recommend you. I'm glad to see his faith in you is fully warranted.

[Thor knows better than to glance at Loki right now, but he does smile at the comment.]

I wouldn't want to disappoint.

Is it because your relationship with your brother is complex and at times fragile?

Well, I wouldn't want to fail in this mission regardless. [Just getting that out there first.] Loki and I are only lately reunited. Things were difficult before that, and I would not call them simple now.

[Because he had thought Loki was, in turn, rightfully a prisoner and then dead and then stuck in his old ways. Thor's perspective of Loki has spun wildly between all these points and more, before finally arriving at where he is now: the present. Hopeful but realistic.

Thor wants to move on from the events of the past, not dredge them up. He doesn't expect that every time Loki volunteers his services will be straightforward, but in this instance it feels earnest.]

But they are better. If he's recommending me for a task, I will see it through.

You want to live up to his expectations? To everyone's?

To theirs and to my own. I am the God of Thunder, the King of Asgard, an Avenger, an older brother - a great deal of expectation comes my way.

It sounds like you have a lot to deal with.

There is. I will do so head-on, regardless of what it is. That's how I prefer it.

[He leans back in his seat, crossing his arms over his chest.]

It isn't only expectation though. Loki is my family, no matter what else might happen.

[There's a lot Thor would do for Loki, given half a chance.]

He's your brother, no matter what? [That's not what Cas is used to hearing from gods, that's for sure.] Even if he were to betray you? Or try to kill you?

[Thor simply tips his head to the side, eyebrows raised.]

Oh, he has done both those things, on many occasions.

[If you thought you were getting rapt attention before, that's nothing compared to this laser-like focus.] And you still call him family? You'd lay down your life for him? Even if he hasn't earned your favor back?

What makes you think he hasn't?

[A little more firmly said. Though Thor dislikes thinking of it in those terms. It's never a question he's posed to himself, because he doesn't have to.]

I choose who deserves my favour. And yes, I would defend him with my life.

[He hadn't really been implying Loki hadn't- honestly, most of the time he and Loki talk, the conversation always steers back around to Castiel, and he's very sure that's entirely on purpose on Loki's part.

But truthfully, he's surprised. Not because they're gods, because gods can form close relationships though...not like humans do, in Castiel's experience. It's more that he hasn't seen this sort of loyalty from many people, except for...]

No wonder he cherishes you.

[That, finally, seems to startle Thor into silence. He casts a look at Loki, an oddly thoughtful furrow in his brow.]

His demeanor changed when I mentioned my own brother. He became more interested in me and more forthcoming with information, though I could hear the conflict in his voice. [Tucks his hands into his coat pockets, watching Thor watch Loki.] I didn't know why until I met you. He made it clear that he thinks of himself as an intruder in his home and believes that he is, if not deserving of, at least fated to a messy end. And yet, here he is.

With you at his side. [Cas is under no impression that Loki came along as a favor to him. He's pretty sure Loki meant what he said; wanted to find out things for himself, was tired of being jerked around. But if Loki truly hated his brother, they wouldn't be in this ship together. At least, that's how Cas understands it.]
