[Other people on the Marsiva can find Sheena poking around the kitchen or staring out the viewing windows. She's bothered by what she can see, and she's bothered by what she's not being told. Clutched in her hands are a pair of decorative chopsticks.]

[This is not Sheena's first space rodeo. She figures out what she's supposed to do after no time at all, really, though she's a bit annoyed. The camera shows the purple ninja framed by stars-- the window, she's not floating in space, thank goodness.]

Is this thing on? [She is 100 percent muscle and READY TO TUSSLE.] I'd like to have a few 'words' with whoever's in charge. I was supposed to be going somewhere important, not getting stuck in space again.

Also, the ships outside don't look like they're in good shape. What happened?

[Her face lights up when she sees who it is.]

Lea!

[She missed his sass. But then she also notices the tattoos, and she remembers their conversation and-- oh. Now she looks concerned.]

Er... Axel, right?

[Oops. She touches her bottom lip, frowning.]

[He blinks. Another one? He searches her face a moment, but he can't for the life of him recognize her. How does she know that name? Is she from his future, too? She just looks so happy to see him, he kind of wishes he didn't have to tell her the truth. It's when her expression shifts to concern and she corrects herself that he looks downright unsettled.]

I... Yeah, it's Axel. [He squints a little, confusion and a hint of suspicion in his gaze.] I take it we've met? Sorry, I, ah... [He rubs the crown of his head.] I seem to be a little behind in the script.

[fujibayashi]

[She draws her fingers over the bone charm necklace she's still wearing, a subconscious thing, and then looks at him.]

We have, but I guess you don't remember. It's okay. It-- happens. Or at least it happened in the last place I was in.

I'm Sheena. We lived together for a while in Exsilium. [We were like family. She doesn't say that, though.]

[He can't decide if he feels bad or if he's just alarmed that he's apparently lost these memories. Is this why he keeps having that strange tip of the tongue feeling from time to time? Is it these lost memories of people he knew from somewhere else, trying to find their way back to the front of his mind?

[When she says they lived together, though, Axel just blinks. Wait.]

We lived together? [Isn't that awfully... intimate?? Now he can't decide if he feels bad or just awkward. He rubs the back of his head with a frown, definitely inching toward something like guilt. Feelings or no feelings, Axel knows what it's like when someone important doesn't remember who you are.] Were we that close?

[fujibayashi]

[Only after she sees Axel's reaction does she realize she said the wrong thing. Her face goes totally red and she covers her mouth for a moment.]

Aw, crap! That's not what I meant! We weren't-- we didn't move in together like-- like that. The Initiative assigned housing. We just happened to end up in the same place, that's all. We were friends!

[She huffs a bit, smooths her bangs down, tries to use some humor.]

You liked my curry. I'm sure that had something to do with it.

[got_it_memorized]

[When she goes red, he goes red, and there's a moment of just completely abashed silence before she clarifies.]

Er-- Well, okay, in that context it sounds a little less scandalous. [His ears are scarlet, but he laughs a little at her next remark.]

Curry? Yeah, that sounds like me--the spicier the better. [His smile is sincere, though.] Look, I'm not sure why I don't remember you, and I'm... sorry. For that. Trust me, I know how much it sucks. But if we were friends before, we can be friends again, right?

[fujibayashi]

[Haha, he's blushing. She'd be way more amused if she wasn't trying to compose herself after that.

As usual, he surprises her with his sweetness. He's heartless-- or so he says-- but she knows he'll get it back someday, and she knows from personal experience that he doesn't need a heart to do things.]

It's not your fault. The Initiative messed with time travel so I'm honestly not that surprised. I mean-- yeah, it hurts a little, but at least I get to see you again. That's more than I was expecting.

[Then she smiles, soft and genuine, her brown eyes warm.]

Don't worry about it. We're still friends.

Man, time travel gives me a headache, I don't think I'd wanna mess with it.

[He smiles when she says they're still friends, surprised at how relieved he is to hear it. He's always valued friendship pretty highly, but the idea of having lost a friend he didn't even remember? He didn't expect to be so glad that hadn't been the case.]

It's nice to meet you again, Sheena. I'm on the Tourist--drop by sometime and we could, you know, catch up. Or... I guess you could... catch me up. Or something.

[fujibayashi]

No kidding. Nothing good came out of it, honestly. The world ended up worse than it was before and a lot of people died. At least... before we went back and changed everything? I'm not sure if they're still, um, dead or not. Either way, it was a mess.

[She smiles at his offer.]

The Tourist, huh? Sounds like a plan. Or I could make you chili. I know you're crazy about that stuff.

[got_it_memorized]

See, that's exactly why time travel gives me a headache. If you go back in time and change something, then the event that prompted you to go back in time didn't happen anymore! So did you ever really go back in time? [He scratches his head.] It's just too Schroedinger for me.

[He grins broadly then.]

Ooh, chili! I have a very strict Never Turn Down Free Food policy, so you're on.

[fujibayashi]

[Sheena holds her hands up.] Oh, jeez! Now you're giving me a headache.

That's a pretty good policy, honestly. Unless you're dealing with someone who puts weird stuff in their food.

Ah, right, I forgot I revised the policy slightly: Never Turn Down Free Food From People Who Don't Put Weird Stuff In It. Thankfully, you strike me as a woman who appreciates food and would never waste it by putting weird stuff in it.

I traveled for a year with someone who did. It's a miracle any of us survived.

[She shudders.]
